Audio Obscura presents sunset livestream sessions to raise funds for World Health Organization

Audio Obscura presents sunset livestream sessions to raise funds for World Health Organization Audio Obscura Sunset – Charity will take place from this Saturday until Tuesday, each day from 05:15 PM – 07:15 PM CET at A’DAM The Loft

by the partae March 21, 2020
written by the partae

With everyone having to stay home for the sake of the health of humanity, Audio Obscura decided to step in to raise money for the WHO and its partners. They are partnering with A’DAM Toren who made sure the beautiful The Loft could be the scene for the special livestream series called “Audio Obscura Sunset – Charity”. By doing this they also give back to the visitors around the world who are faced with canceled shows everywhere. The best part: while enjoying the breathtaking livestream, they can actually contribute to the response to the pandemic that is caused by COVID-19.

With stunning panoramic views of Amsterdam during golden hour in the background, the viewers can donate to The COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund, which is set up by The United Nations Foundation and the Swiss Philanthropy Foundation to support WHO and its partners who are helping countries to prevent, detect, and manage the most recent coronavirus. Every day a renowned Netherlands based artist will perform from 5:15 PM till 7:15 PM CET to support this good cause.

On this atypical Saturday, the first stream will kick off with the phenomenal Colin Benders who will showcase a hypnotizing live set using his modular synthesizers. The Sunday will be taken over by none other than Joris Voorn, a longtime friend of Audio Obscura and that’s not without reason. On Monday, live act Satori will give us one of his infamous energetic performances. To make the occasion even more special, he will premiere his brand new album. To close this remarkable series off in style on Tuesday, techno giant Reinier Zonneveld will treat the audience to something very special, nothing like he has done before. No hard bass this time around, but an enchanting live performance from this multi talent combining synthesizers, drum computers and a piano. It will be experimental for sure but as always only music he composed himself. We are in for a treat.

With the sets being streamed by NOMOBO and reminiscing the legendary sunset sessions Audio Obscura has thrown in the past, where artists performed covered in a golden hue of sunlight, this live stream series is set to be nothing short of spectacular. So be sure to tune in and support the World Health Organization in these crazy times. Together we can do this.

Please get on board and share the livestream to ensure as many people as possible can watch and donate to WHO.

After releasing his outstanding radio track ‘Love You Better’, Julian Jordan is now back with a brand new club banger ‘Destination’. While he usually releases tracks after trying them out in his sets, but due to the current situation, Julian decided to drop this one without a warning and support his fans with this world premiere.  Julian Jordan switches between club and pop styles with more ease than almost anyone. From radio tracks like ‘To The Wire’ and ‘Love You Better’ to club bangers such as ‘Next Level’, ‘Oh Lord’, and ‘Oldskool’. By releasing ‘Destination’, Jordan once again demonstrates that the scope of his talent is infinite.  The track kicks off with a high paced electrifying baseline which gradually escalates. Sharp tones and echoing vocals combined with a snare-filled rise plunge into a clean thrilling drop. Diverging synths eventually progress the drop into a succeeding phase loaded with minimal accents and a siren charged backdrop.  A suspicious silence gives you just enough time to prepare for a second accelerating climb packed with an ecstatic bite. This copious and rich track will put the listener into a momentary trance and will establish itself as an essential for fans all around the world. With millions of streams on his club bangers and radio tracks, ‘Destination’ won’t be any exception, making sure one hard-hitting track after the other will get released. The official follow-up to the glorious ‘Next Level’, ‘Destination' looks like another absolute smash for Mr. Jordan! 'A masterclass in building emotionally-wrought electronics' – Complex UK 'An up and coming talent with a penchant for abstract melodic shimmers and a club focussed attitude' - Ransom Note 'He masterfully plays with tension and release, resulting in an electrical surge of a crescendo' - Kaltblut Magazine 'Richly textured, expansive listening experience that blooms and swirls into a sprawling soundscape while maintaining its club-ready feel' – Purple Sneakers 'Flooring listeners all over' – Happy Mag It is with great excitement that Soothsayer release one of the most exciting debuts of the year, Juno Mamba’s EP, Light Echoes. With today’s release, the focus turns to the cosmic new single ‘Slow Light’ – a seven-minute sonic exploration of human emotion and its relationship to time and space.  This week, Juno Mamba (real name Vinci Andanar) dropped a jaw-droppingly good live performance of ‘Slow Light’ filmed in an old warehouse. The video was directed by ARIA-nominated director Sanjay De Silva who last year won the J Award for Australian Music Video of the Year (Sampa The Great’s ‘Final Form’). 2019 saw Juno Mamba explode onto the scene with debut single ‘Flicker’, followed by his emotionally charged track and video ‘Blossom’. These deeply moving compositions (and the recent addition of ‘Slow Light’) explore the depths of human emotion, while the Light Echoes EP serves to examine the world; past, present and future. Over the course of four delicious tracks and two remixes, Juno Mamba poses the questions; where do we fit in? And how can we contribute positively to this world in what we do, and inevitably leave behind? Juno Mamba’s intrinsic ability to create compositions that bend the very edges of your mind is something that is as clear as day, with ‘Flicker’ and ‘Blossom’ achieving widespread acclaim from around the globe. Praise and support have flooded in from the likes of The Ransom Note, ADSR Collective, Our Culture Mag, Stereofox, KALTBLUT, with tracks getting airtime on BBC Radio 1 and US college radio. Both tracks were also added to a stack of streaming playlists including Spotify’s Top-Shelf Electronic, Apple Music’s Global Dance (US, UK, AUS, MX, FR) and Amazon Music’s global playlist Progressive House Now. Juno Mamba's releases have also seen DJ support from the likes of The Drifter, Jacques Renault, Maxxi Soundsystem, Tensnake, Dayne S, Just Kiddin, Lane 8 and Doctor Dru amongst others. The EP features official remixes from Canada-via-Berlin producer Nathan Micay (LuckyMe/Whities) and London based producer TSHA (Counter Records). Juno Mamba recently wrapped two hugely successful headline shows, playing to full rooms in Sydney and Melbourne. He was set to announce larger shows for the coming months but has resigned to spending his self-isolation period working on new music and expanding his live show so that he can deliver an even bigger Juno Mamba experience when the time is right.   The ambiguity can seem vast or obscured, but the feeling is with the listener. If it’s new or old, the beginning or the end, let Light Echoes remind us to embrace life's endless journey. Stay tuned and stay safe. JUNO MAMBA

Bootleg Rascal and their team are sad to announce the postponement of their upcoming East Coast tour, and performances at A Day on the Lawn and Big Pineapple Music Festival, due to recent developments around the COVID-19 pandemic. The duo will reschedule their East Coast capital city shows to mid-late September 2020, while Big Pineapple Music Festival will be moved to Saturday 21 November. While the band is forced off the road, front man Carlos Lara and guitarist Jimmy Young will head back into the studio, to work on their new forthcoming staggered EP titled ‘Collaborations of Very Isolated Delinquents “19’ - inspired by current events and premonitions experienced by Lara in late-2019. The first single ‘We Independent’ is set for release on Friday May 22. Lara explains the motivation behind the project: “While we can’t tour, Jim and myself thought it could be cool to set ourselves a challenge of dropping a new track each month and tie it all into a conceptual EP. The record is set to be heavily influenced by what’s currently happening in the world and some wild dreams I had towards the end of 2019, where the world had been consumed by biological warfare”. On Bootleg Rascal’s rescheduled East Coast capital city tour, opening support act SCABZ will remain on all new dates, while main support Shag Rock can sadly no longer move forward on the tour. Bootleg Rascal will announce a replacement for Shag Rock in the coming weeks. All purchased tickets are valid for the rescheduled dates; however, if punters cannot make it along, information around processing refunds will be made available from each respective ticket selling company. Inspired by his own experiences with mental health, singer/songwriter/producer Slinky dives into deep ideas and darker sounds with new single 'Crazy'. Recorded and produced in his bedroom in Sydney, Australia and released on his own record label Slinky Sounds, “Crazy" explores themes of anxiety, depression and alienation in modern society. Slinky’s insight and wordplay used in the lyrics “nihilist fortress, paranoia portrait” and “rainbow acid rain pouring out my brain” showcase his individuality as a writer. Combined with his earworm melodies, Slinky creates depth in the often shallow format of pop songs. “Mental health is an important subject matter,” says Slinky. "It can be extremely hard to communicate with others when you’re dealing with mental health problems. I felt that writing a song conveying what I've experienced may help people who have been through something similar. The song carries a positive message - you’re never alone when dealing with mental health issues because they’re universal.” Slinky’s voice moves from silky smooth to emotionally gritty as soaring synths, R&B grooves and psychedelic guitars create an extraordinary soundscape; a mash-up he confidently owns. Mixed by Jackson Barclay (Vera Blue, Timberwolf) “Crazy” is a soul infused synth rock banger with psychedelic overtones, taking influences from Tame Impala, SZA, Arctic Monkeys and D'Angelo, as well as Bowie and Prince for good measure. After a busy 2019 playing solo shows throughout Europe and supporting Aussie legends 1927 in Australia, Slinky is back with his best work yet, with more to come throughout 2020. www.facebook.com/slinkysounds www.instagram.com/slinkysounds www.soundcloud.com/slinkysoundss www.twitter.com/slinkysounds

People in the live music and entertainment industries are being severely impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. Thousands of jobs have been lost in recent weeks as a result of the cancellation of concerts, festivals, tours and shows. Reported losses across the sector amount to well over $100 million and are rising daily.    While clearly necessary to protect the health of the nation, these cancellations have affected a huge array of music industry workers including artists, crew, management, promoters, agents, vendors, publicists, merchandisers, drivers, loaders, riggers and everyone else who relied on live events for their income.   The vast majority of these workers are independent contractors who do not have the luxury of sick leave or annual leave. Most live from tour to tour, or gig to gig and they have lost their ability to earn an income through no fault of their own.    Support Act is already being inundated with requests for crisis relief from people who have gone from having seemingly secure income over the coming months to suddenly having no way to pay their bills. Our Mental Health Helpline which provides free counselling to those in need is also reporting a surge in calls.     Many of the people who find themselves in this position are the same artists, crew and music workers who donated their time and talent to support others by staging benefit shows following the bushfire crisis just a few months ago.    As the most prominent music industry charity, Support Act is committed to doing what it can to help those in need but our resources are limited. We urgently need to build our own war chest in order to provide even a modest level of crisis relief to people who have been impacted.   Today we have therefore launched the COVID19 Emergency Appeal to accept donations from all sections of the Australian community. The target for the Appeal is $20million and Support Act has contributed $100k from its limited reserves to kickstart the campaign.   To donate, please visit our dedicated appeal page or follow the links from our website: supportact.org.au.   We ask music lovers across the country to support this appeal where possible, to help us raise the funds that will be needed to meet the expected demand. This could be through a direct donation or by directing proceeds from your own fundraising activities.     We also stand ready to work with all levels of Government. We hope they will recognise the special needs of this vulnerable section of the community and provide cash support to our campaign and to the broader entertainment sector. We also urge the Federal Government to expedite access to key government programs such as the Newstart Jobseeking Allowance.              Please help us to support our music workers through this difficult period and help them be in a position to bounce back louder and prouder than ever once the pandemic has passed.    Support Act acknowledges and thanks all the members of the music industry taskforce who are working so tirelessly and selflessly to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 on the music industry.   #soundofsilenceau   supportact.org.au   #SupportAct   About Support Act:   Support Act is Australia’s only charity delivering crisis relief services to artists, crew and music workers as a result of ill health, injury, a mental health problem, or some other crisis that impacts on their ability to work in music.   Our assistance can take the form of paying the rent or the mortgage, buying a bed or wheel chair, paying for car repairs, medical / dental / phone / electricity bills, or a credit card debt.   We provide referrals to other support services; funding for funerals; and we support friends and family seeking to raise funds for a person through our Help a Mate program.   The Support Act Wellbeing Helpline is a free, confidential 24/7 counselling service that is available to anyone working in Australian music who needs to talk about any aspect of their mental health. Support Act Music Charity announces COVID-19 Emergency Appeal with $20 million target

ROCK’N’ROLL RESCHEDULE! ENDLESS BOOGIE DATES AND THE AUSTRALIAN DEBUT OF HOWLIN’ RAIN (FEATURING COMETS ON FIRE’S ETHAN MILLER) MOVED TO OCTOBER/NOVEMBER.

by the partae March 20, 2020
written by the partae
Maybe we were tempting fate with the opening words of our original press release – see below – but the much-anticipated return of Endless Boogie and the Australian debut of Howlin’ Rain will happen, and has now been moved from April to late October / early November. Both bands will be appearing at the rescheduled BOOGIE festival, and at the same East Coast venues they were originally booked into. All existing tickets will be honoured. Updated dates and info below…

Stars have aligned, and East Coast will meet West in a collision of pure, unadulterated, ecstatic rock when Brooklyn-born ENDLESS BOOGIE return to our shores in April with special guests, acclaimed Oakland-formed outfit HOWLIN’ RAIN.

Endless Boogie will be coming for the 4th or 5th time (no one is sure, and, as the saying goes, if you can remember an ENDLESS BOOGIE tour you weren’t really there); HOWLIN’ RAIN, who are the creation of Comets On Fire main man and guitarist Ethan Miller, will be visiting for the first time.

ENDLESS BOOGIE take their name from John Lee Hooker’s 1971 LP, which should give you some idea about their minimalist approach and single-minded drive. Their ethos is written clearly in their name and reflected in their practice; ENDLESS BOOGIE worship the jam. There are no rehearsals, formulas, or setlists to which they cling. Instead, they throw themselves to the bluesy, heavy-psych abyss of beautiful spontaneity and swagger. A beautiful spontaneity that reflects their love of the likes of Can and the Stooges, and a swagger that reflects their love of Australian pioneers like Lobby Loyde and the Coloured Balls, and Sunbury-era Billy Thorpe & The Aztecs.

Formed in 1997 by a group of like-minded Matador Records employees and legendary record dealer/collector Paul “Top Dollar” Major, the band played its first show four years later opening for fellow Matador alumni and Coloured Balls fan Stephen Malkmus of Pavement. They’ve never been in a hurry; their first studio album was 2008’s Focus Level. Their latest album Vibe Killer, released in 2017, is highlighted by “Back in ’74”, in which Major describes a misadventure involving LSD and his first exposure to Kiss at a St Louis kite-flying competition. At the same time Major had his first coffee table book published, Feel The Music: The Psychedelic Worlds Of Paul Major; this guy is very much the guru of sub-underground psychedelia and hard rock arcana. More recently they’ve officially reissued their early collections of rehearsal space jams, entitled Volume I and Volume II, which they self-released in 2005 before their inaugural trip overseas (to play the Slint-curated All Tomorrow’s Parties).

HOWLIN’ RAIN’s arrival will mark the first time that Ethan Miller plays Australia since Comets on Fire blazed a trail across the Southern sky and lit up Meredith with an unforgettable appearance at Golden Plains in 2007. HOWLIN’ RAIN came together in 2004. Initially an attempt to do something more rustic, the group found it hard to tone things down; the result was an electrifying sound that mixed high energy with soulful harmony. Rick Rubin signed them to American Recordings and decided to make the Great 21st Century Rock Album with them. They achieved that – their third album The Russian Wilds is both breathtakingly audacious and accomplished, but the slow, painstaking work with Rubin broke the band, and Miller eventually had to start a-fresh. He also started his own label to release his own music and that of his friends. In addition to the most recent HOWLIN’ RAIN studio album, 2018’s The Alligator Bride and the brand new live album Under the Wheels, Vol.1, Silver Current Records has released material by friends including the Wooden Shjips, the late Neal Casal, Earthless (whose guitarist Isaiah Mitchell was an HR member circa The Russian Wilds), Comets on Fire and Ethan’s other current bands, the speed freaking scuzz punkers Feral Ohms and the Sub Pop-signed pastoral psychedelic ensemble Heron Oblivion.

Silver Current describes HOWLIN’ RAIN’s latest studio album as “indebted to classic rock formations like the Grateful Dead’s Europe ‘72 and Free’s masterpiece of atmospheric, minimalist blues, 1969’s Fire and Water.” Miller references Kerouac: “The guiding principle for The Alligator Bride was to create ‘Neal Cassady Rock’. Which is to say, high energy, good-times adventure music, driving the hippie bus, shirtless and stoned, up for four days straight, and extremely fuzzy around the edges.”

Special guest in Sydney is the legendary feedtime!

Italian duo Supernova returns to Gorge’s and Nick Curly’s imprint 8BIT. After their hot releases in 2020 on Defected and Downtown Underground early this year, they drop ‘My Vision’ EP. The duo, that now owns 3 labels Lapsus Music, Downtown Underground and Blackboard, has always demonstrated a breadth of influences across their impressive catalogue, ranging from Chicago house and acid right through to hip-hop, funk and jazz. The pair bring together a raw house solid beat with an “old school feeling”. Added to this is driving strings pattern topped by the wonderful vocals of UK singer Medusa. The result is a record that will certainly stand out.   The second track “Deep Side Of Things”, shows Supernova’s deepest side of production with a more minimalist approach to drum beat construction. OCEAN ALLEY RESCHEDULE 2020 NATIONAL TOUR DATES DUE TO COVID-19 – shows rescheduled for February and March 2021

Ocean Alley have announced their 2020 national tour dates have been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with all shows rescheduled for February and March 2021.

Originally due to take place from May 1 to June 5 this year, it wasn’t possible to proceed with the tour amid public health concerns and the Federal Government’s ban of mass gatherings indefinitely.

Now kicking off with two hometown shows at Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion on February 6 and 7, the tour will then make its way through Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide and finish at Melbourne Arena on March 24. Perth’s Psychedelic Porn Crumpets and Dulcie will both remain on the tour for all dates as support. By the time these dates come around, it will mark almost three years since Ocean Alley’s last capital city headline run.

The band released a statement on social media, sharing “The reschedule is due to the COVID-19 situation that has developed at home and abroad, and is in line with the restrictions and recommendations put in place by the Australian Government to keep people safe… Thanks for your patience and understanding through what is a difficult time for the wider entertainment industry and everyone around the world. We look forward to finally seeing you again on the road around Australia.”

All tickets that have already been purchased will be valid across the new show dates. Any ticket-holders who are unable to attend the rescheduled dates can safely and securely re-sell their tickets via the Tixel marketplace or obtain a full refund from the point of purchase.

Festival Director Peter Noble OAM declares Bluesfest 2021 is on!   “We will find a way to continue and present in 2021. I am a veteran; having been in this incredible industry since the 60s I have never experienced such a dire situation. As a premier event we need to present another Bluesfest not only for ourselves but also for the entire entertainment industry to see that there will be a brighter day, and that as an industry we will come back from this. We are humbled by the incredible response we have received by the outpouring of love from our ticket-holders, music industry and importantly from our local community.  We are in discussions with all the agents representing the artists who were due to play this Easter on what has been our greatest bill ever. Whilst we currently don’t know ‘who’ all our headliners will be in 2021, we have received feedback from over 30 artists off this year’s bill confirming they are ready to reschedule for 2021. Their level of support and goodwill is inspiring and I foresee a great event to come.   2021 will be the year for everyone who cares about the arts, music and the entire entertainment industry that we all love, to come out and show their support for each other. We call on our industry, the musicians, the agents and the managers to get in touch with us and help us show the solidarity of strength that we have as a combined force. We are all in this together, and together we will go on and get through these troubled times. Since the ban was announced last Sunday we have gone from having a deep case of the blues to presenting the blues for you again in 2021. This much we know.  Time is a healer and one day this will be behind us. It has not been easy and we are still in what is a lengthy process working out the details. Representatives from our insurance companies have advised that our claim is being processed and ticket refunds or the option to roll over to Bluesfest 2021 will be available soon. We will constantly keep our patrons updated in this area and thank them all again for the patience they have shown. In the meantime we wish you all good health and to remain strong and positive in these very trying times. See you at Bluesfest.”                                                                                                          Bluesfest 2021 will be held from 1 - 5 April 2021. Following the breakthrough success of ’Techno Disco Tool’; reaching number 1 in BBC Radio 1’s Dance Music chart, in addition to his Warehouse Music imprint winning the ‘Best Breakthrough Label’ award at the DJ Mag awards, Mella Dee is rapidly becoming one of the most sought after names in dance music. More recently, he was named one of Mixmag’s ‘Stars of the year’ for 2018 and also put out his debut Essential Mix for the legendary BBC Radio 1 series.

Anastasia Kristensen

Always the adventurer, the Copenhagen-via-Moscow producer has been at it for a while — finding inspirations from the likes of ballet to effusively digging for records to satisfy her curiosity. With her track “Spring Ballade” released on Nous Disques in 2016 and previous work with BLD and Monasterio, she only sought to move forward and carve out a path that would only broaden the scope for her reach as time goes on. It begins with her DJ sets – Kristensen starts with tone as the foundation; she weaves a web that incorporates barreling breaks, blistering techno and buoyant electro in scintillating fashion. With featured mixes on Mixmag and Red Bull, Anastasia is determined to take even bigger chances and leap farther into the sonic spectrum of underground music – by never staying in one lane.

Showcasing his versatile production abilities across electronica, ambient, melodic techno and more, today Willaris. K has announced two new EPs and shared the tracklist for each. His six-track EP LUSTRE will arrive April 3, featuring two never-heard-before songs, ‘COBAKI SKY’ and ‘GET WITH MY LIGHT (with Tom Snowdon)’. The announcement follows his recent eclectic singles including ‘5 O’CLOCK’, ‘PAST LIGHT’, ‘INDIFFERENT (WITH GORDI’ and ‘DETACH’, which will also be included on the package, tying a nice bow around the last year of Willaris. K releases. In addition to the April release, Willaris. K (Jack McAllister) sets his sights firmly on the club with the announcement of a forthcoming club EP titled Full Noise due out May 29. Drawing inspiration from late night sets and featuring an impressive lineup of well-regarded creators that have influenced his own sound, McAllister shows his chemistry with original Australian rave king Paul Mac, American rapper and sound designer WaveIQ and composer, producer, beatmaker and Seekae founder, George Nicholas (GN). McAllister’s unique approach to production and arrangement and his commanding melodic craft earned him global record deals with Australian progressive tastemaker label Soothsayer, acclaimed US electronic label Astralwerks (Chemical Brothers, Alison Wonderland, Halsey) and UK counterpart Virgin EMI (Desiigner, Katy Perry, Vince Staples) who will continue to release his music outside Australia and NZ. Willaris. K’s eclectic work has drawn him comparisons to a league of greats like Daniel Avery, Brian Eno, and William Basinski. His previous career as an electrical instrument technician led him to music as he worked across rural power plants in Australia, taking field recordings and turning them into ambient tracks - thus, Willaris. K was born. Since, he has showcased his versatility and range as a budding producer, from the cathartic ambient tones of ‘PAST LIGHT’ to the darker punchy percussions in ‘Natural Selection’. The 2019/20 Summer saw him perform to packed-out dance tents at major festivals including Wildlands, Beyond The Valley, Output Super Club, Origin Fields and Castaway, after supporting RUFUS DU SOL on their SOLACE World Tour.  Willaris played a benefit show at Melbourne’s Seaworks in February, which raised proceeds to the Fire Relief Fund for First Nations Communities.  Willaris. K was due to announce his biggest run of Australian headline shows to date, however due to current advice from officials regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, tour announcements will be held until further notice. He is still due to appear at US festivals Electric Forest in Michigan this June and CRSSD Festival in San Diego in September, however Willaris. K and his team are monitoring the developing situation closely.  For now, feast your ears on his latest euphoric techno track ‘DETACH’: WILLARIS. K

The new single is one of R3HAB's first this year that can be classified as a real dancefloor-ready track, completed with bouncy melodies and a driving bassline that calls listeners to get moving. Brought to life by breathy, elegant vocals by Temnikova, the lyrics to "Where You Wanna Be" inspire a sense of adventure and spontaneity that will resonate with many of R3HAB's adventurous fans, many of whom have traveled around the globe to see him perform. With warmer weather and festival season approaching, we can bet "Where You Wanna Be" will be a mainstay in the CYB3RPVNK shows this spring and summer. It follows R3HAB's recent remix of Steve Aoki & Maluma's "Maldad" and "More Than OK" with Clara Mae and Frank Walker. "I've been following artists and music from Russia for many years and recently got in contact with Elena Temnikova over the Internet. It seemed like a perfect time & combination to work on stuff together and I thought about the Where You Wanna Be song right away. It's perfect for her vibe, voice and this collaboration which is a cool 2020 sounding record bridging the 2 worlds we come from" - R3HAB "Our collaboration was literally born in the digital world. Fadil liked my photo on Instagram, I liked his one, and then we started messaging. We both liked each other's early songs. I generally get crazy from his EDM work and listen to it for many years. After a while, he suggested doing something cool together. That's how we started to work on 'Where You Wanna Be'" - Elena Temnikova Over the last eight years, the Dutch/Moroccan artist Fadil El Ghoul - better known as R3HAB - has established himself as a leader at the forefront of modern electronic music. His talent has been called the "future of the craft" by the likes of Forbes and Billboard, and he's circuited the globe's best clubs and festivals, all without the backing of a formal record label. In 2017, R3HAB independently released his debut album "Trouble" through his imprint CYB3RPVNK, which amassed over a half-billion streams globally and officially placed R3HAB among electronic music's heavy hitters. He made number 14 on DJ Mag's Top 100 list in 2019, topping the charts with tracks like "Lullaby" and "Hold On Tight," while his sophomore album "The Wave," revealing more complex, emotional and experimental layers of himself, has amassed over 250 million streams on Spotify alone. In 2019 R3HAB's "All Around The World" with A Touch of Class quickly became his biggest ever record already topping 200M streams across platforms and achieving gold & platinum status in 8 countries. Stay tuned to see what this ever-evolving artist has up his sleeve next!
