West Coast favourites DULCIE return with new single ‘tell ur friends’
Trio supporting Ocean Alley nationally, announce Lime Cordiale support show and headline Perth date in April
Though their presence was strongly felt across some seriously stirring offerings of indie pop in 2021, Perth three piece Dulcie are wasting no time in bolstering the momentum surrounding them; charging out the gates for 2022 with their new single, ‘tell ur friends’.
The track, released just ahead of the girls’ national tour supporting Ocean Alley in February, is a spirited and dynamic release. It shows the group’s constant evolution fans have been able to track and follow since 2020: a galvanising moment for the trio as they take another step into a refreshed and confident space as songwriters and musicians.
A song about realising and appreciating one’s own self-worth, both in and outside of a relationship, ‘tell ur friends’ comes as a co-write between Dulcie and songwriter Chris Chidiac (Polarheart). Following on from their 2021 releases ‘Sake of Sound’ and ‘Ethereal’ from debut EP SAKE OF SOUND, Dulcie taps into a sense of matured songwriting that fits perfectly with preceding efforts. The final result is an infectious and captivating new hit of indie pop music that keeps the core sound of Dulcie well at the forefront.
“This song came about a bit like Frankenstein – with various bits and bobs picked from previous half-written songs and merged together with a song co-written with Chris Chidiac. It’s about that awkward “what are we” phase in a relationship and the inner knowing of your own self worth.”

PRAISE FOR DULCIE
“Fact: you never regret listening to Dulcie. Another total day brightener!”
Triple J, Declan Byrne (‘Sake Of Sound’, 2021)
“Heard this on triple j today and it was the perfect track to carry me through the weekend. Can’t wait to hear it LIVE!”
Triple J, Ash McGregor (‘Sake Of Sound’, 2021)
“The sonic soundscape and warm, silky melodies will honestly brighten up your day, and feels like it belongs in Stevie Nicks’ discography, but also feels fresh and revitalised.”
Milky Milky Milky
“With melodies to rival Taylor Swift, Perth four-piece Dulcie have crafted a gorgeous, tight-knit collection of indie-pop magic with their debut EP, Sake of Sound. It’s sublime, delicate and towering music.”
Tone Deaf
“The four-piece have become the talk of the town for their adventurous melodies, captivating harmonies and vibrant personalities that are sure to take them further this year.”
X-press Mag
Dulcie have been going from strength to strength in the past two years; a stream count in excess of 10,000 monthly, recent signing to Wear Your Hat (home of Psychedelic Porn Crumpets), praise from outlets including triple j, triple j Unearthed, NME Australia and more, the group has been strongly establishing themselves as a pure force out of the West Coast.
The release of ‘tell ur friends’ comes as the band prepares for their long anticipated national tour with Ocean Alley and announced support of Lime Cordiale in April. For hometown fans, the band will also perform a special headline date at The Rosemount in April. A perfect chance to become acquainted with Dulcie as a live act if they’ve become favourites of yours through lockdown or if you’ve been hanging out to see them again, it’s time to lock the dates in your diary.
“We’re so excited to be able to FINALLY hit the road and share our new music this February supporting Ocean Alley. It’s been 2 VERY LONG YEARS waiting for this tour to happen. Then we head out on our own headline tour in April! Feels like we’ve re-invented ourselves to a whole new level and can’t wait to show everyone what we’ve been working on and get back to playing across the country!”

Having long held a place in the hearts of the capital’s raving circuit, as well as building a new community in pockets around Europe, they now set the bar even higher by marking their 10th year in style across fabric’s Room 1 and Room 2.
Since launching in 2012, Picnic have been the epicentre of many memorable moments at a vast selection of distinctive international clubbing spaces, including Hackney Marshes, Victorian Vaults, FOLD, Studio Spaces, BRET Amsterdam, Doka Amsterdam, Hoppetosse Berlin and Lion & Lamb to name just a few. As well as making their mark internationally event wise, the past few years has seen the picnic label release music from artists such as Martinez and Pelle and additionally launch their own festival brand Someplace Somewhere, giving revellers a new dimension of the picnic party experience.
The artists most frequently affiliated playing for picnic are the kind that are best known for their deep digging prowess, and the cast of international selectors they have lined up to celebrate their 10th year is no exception. First lady of Berlin house tINI will make her debut for the event and will perform a special b2b with French mastermind Dyed Soundorom. Joining them will of course be picnic resident Andy Luff alongside Slow Life records co-founder Laurine, man of the moment Sweely, a b2b between Jane Fitz x Jade Seatle representing themselves under Night Moves, a live set from Italian duo Data Memory Access (Giammarco Orsini and Jacopo Latini) as well as Mother Earth – the London female duo who are promoting gender equality through music.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS
CHEAP TRICK
With over 5,000 performances spanning four decades, 20 million records sold worldwide, and inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Cheap Trick are undoubtedly one of the most influential classic rock groups of the past 50 years.
The band was formed in 1974 and while it has evolved throughout the years, Cheap Trick has continued to reach mainstream and critical success. Hits such as “I Want You To Want Me,” “Dream Police,” and “Surrender” have cemented the group as one of America’s top rock ‘n’ roll bands of all time.
In early 2021, Cheap Trick released their 20th studio album, In Another World to rave reviews!
**********
BUSH
BUSH have been a mainstay on Australian radios since the release of their debut album Sixteen Stone in 1994. The album was an instant smash spending 43 weeks in the Australian Top 50, peaking at #5. Glycerine, Everything Zen and Comedown are in the DNA of Aussie rock fans and are played daily on the airwaves to this day.
While the 90’s belonged to BUSH, they were on hiatus between 2001 and 2011 when they returned with The Sea Of Memories featuring The Sound Of Winter . In 2019, BUSH came roaring back with the track Bullet Holes which is featured as the end title on the soundtrack to the Hollywood blockbuster John Wick 3 Parabellum.
**********
STONE TEMPLE PILOTS
One of the biggest rock acts of the 1990’s with over 50 million albums sold, Stone Temple Pilots broke out of the scene they helped to define into bonafide superstars. From their breakout debut album, Core, with legendary hits, Sex Type Thing, Creep, and Plush to Purple’s soaring Interstate Love Song and Big Empty and the late 90’s smash singles Big Bang Baby and Sour Girl, STP songs are the soundtrack of a generation.
Stone Temple Pilots are reborn and writing the next chapter of their storied career, with their seventh studio album, Stone Temple Pilots (2018), their first with new lead singer, Jeff Gutt.
**********
BLACK REBEL MOTORCYCLE CLUB
The ultimate road dogs, BRMC harness pure garage punk energy and mix in rolling riffs and dirge-laden rhythms to shake you to the core and make you want a cigarette afterwards.
Their self titled debut album turned 20 this year and for the past two decades through 9 studio albums, BRMC have been at forefront of the psych-indie rock resurgence.
Tracks like the anthemic Whatever Happened To My Rock N Roll, the latter day Beatlesque-like Spread Your Love and the hypnotic Beat The Devil’s Tattoo define a band that was made for the stage.

This will be the first time a full-capacity stadium show by any international music artist has taken place in Australia since the COVID pandemic first hit back in March 2020.
After two years of live music virtually being on hold, and with our international borders now re-open for business, Foo Fighters will arrive in Victoria next week to celebrate the State’s extraordinary reputation as the live music capital of Australia. Foo Fighters’ record sales in Australia stand in excess of 1.8 million, with eight #1 albums – the most #1 debuts in any territory for the band, who’ve visited our shores 12 times so far throughout their 27-year career.
News of Foo Fighters’ upcoming Geelong concert is announced today in partnership with the Victorian Government’s contemporary live music major event ALWAYS LIVE – a brand new, State-wide celebration of contemporary live music taking place later this year. Bringing together icons of Australia’s music scene with emerging local talent and some of the best global acts on the planet, the ALWAYS LIVE program will feature shows of all scales and styles, created and curated for Victoria’s special venues, places and stages. Supported by the Victorian Government, the impetus for ALWAYS LIVE was initially conceived by legendary former Mushroom Group Chairman Michael Gudinski.
Foo Fighter’s latest and tenth studio album, Medicine At Midnight, was released in February 2021 on Roswell Records/RCA Records/Sony Music, debuting at #1 in Australia and featuring fan-favourite tracks that have already become staples of the FF live set such as ‘Shame Shame’, ‘No Son Of Mine’, and the album’s title track.
This week the band celebrate the theatrical release of their cinematic horror comedy film STUDIO 666, which sees Dave Grohl grappling with supernatural forces as the band attempt to record their much-anticipated 10th album – head HERE to buy tix, with the film in cinemas for one week only! Back in October 2021, Grohl also hit book bestseller lists across the globe with The Storyteller – a fascinating collection of his life memories and stories.
Foo Fighters will be joined in Geelong by very special guests Amyl and The Sniffers – whose 2021 album Comfort to Me debuted at #2 in Australia, #21 in the UK, and #18 in the US, and was BBC6’s Album of the Day – as well as Melbourne punk royalty The Meanies, who’ve been kicking out the jams for three decades now, most recently heard on 2020’s Desperate Measures.
Don’t miss out on your chance to be a part of history when the Foo Fighters bring their incredible rock’n’roll marathon live experience back to Victoria at long last. Tickets are on sale this Friday 12pm, and are expected to sell out quickly… act fast!

Melbourne Gets New Outdoor Pop-up Live music & Performing Arts Precinct
Melbourne is getting a new outdoor pop-up concert venue named Reunion Park. The new pop up live music and performing arts precinct will open at the beginning of March within the city of Yarra’s iconic Burnley Circus Site, only 15 minutes from Melbourne CBD.
The venue will host artists including King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Spacey Jane, Northlane, Wolfmother, BENEE, L.A.B and many more. The pop up will also feature a diverse range of performing arts shows including high flying circus performances, food and drink delights, and a programme of spectacular comedy shows as part of the venue’s Melbourne Comedy Festival hub.
Curated by Untitled Group and Velodrome Events, Reunion Park will be a celebration of Melbourne’s vibrant culture, providing a vital outdoor venue setting for artists and audiences to reunite and enjoy what Melbourne does best — Arts, Music & Culture. Concerts, day festivals and performing arts shows will take place from March 4th – April 10th.
“When we first conceptualised Reunion Park in 2020 we knew it would be a challenge, but did not anticipate nearly 2 years of lockdowns before it would become a reality or prove as crucial an event series for the Australian live entertainment industry. The project could not have happened without the support of the Federal government’s RISE fund, but equally as important that of Yarra City Council whose support of local and Australian artists has been unwavering. We feel blessed to have the opportunity to bring together such an eclectic program of musicians and performing artists, and play a part in helping return confidence in our industry that despite all odds, the show must go on!” – Chris Mitchell, Velodrome Events
Chris Mitchell (Velodrome Events) has been producing music festivals and performing arts in Melbourne since 1999, and was responsible for the creation of brands including early 2000’s underground beats brand Fractured, the award winning Red Bennies performing arts venue, Coburg Velodrome Events and Duke Street Block Party. He is a partner and creative director of recently opened Abbots Yard and soon to be opened Northcote Theatre.
Untitled Group is Australia’s largest independently-owned music and events company, renowned as the masterminds behind much-loved festivals Beyond The Valley, Pitch Music & Arts, Wildlands, Grapevine Gathering, For The Love and Ability Fest.

The sorely missed VANFEST Music Festival is making its highly anticipated return to Forbes NSW with two events scheduled in 2022.
Kicking off on Saturday 9 April, a scaled back 1-day event aptly called Mini-VANFEST will take place as a teaser before the traditional 2-day format returns with a full line up of international and local artists in December.
In support of the live music industry, regional NSW and the local community the VANFEST team is bringing back all the performances, artists, memories, and magic moments that we’ve been missing these past two years and it is set to be bigger and better than ever! Kicking off with Mini-VANFEST to give fans a taster of what’s to come later in the year.
Pre-sale tickets will go on sale today at 8am and General Public tickets will be available from 10am on Monday 21st February at www.vanfest.com.au
Mini-VANFEST will host a star-studded line up of some of Australia’s hottest artists, featuring legends like Holy Holy, indie-pop icon Julia Stone, Jarryd James, Eves Karydas, Loretta, the rising reggae-rock powerhouse Rum Jungle, Cloe Terare and local supporting acts, keeping true to the event’s grassroots origins.
“The past couple of years have been devastating for our industry, and the regions, so it gives us great pleasure with the aid of NSW Governments Regional Events program and Festivals Australia, that we have the opportunity to support the industry and the local community by adding a smaller event earlier in the year to get people back outdoors and enjoying the things we have all missed so much,” says Matt Clifton, VANFEST Director.
As an all ages, multi-faceted event, Mini-VANFEST is more than just a music festival. The day will include a wide variety of culture, food, indigenous workshops and experiences beyond big name music acts. Guests are encouraged to bring the family, have a picnic, and enjoy food and beverage from the local regions.
As well as bringing much needed tourism and vibrance to what has been a quiet corner of Australia, VANFEST is supporting the local First Nations community with indigenous workshops presented by the Thumbs Up Foundation, teaching local indigenous youth valuable musical skills, providing a platform of support, and even giving the opportunity to perform on stage at the event and meet the featured artists.
Mini-VANFEST is proudly supported by the NSW Government’s Regional Events Program, Festivals Australia, and Forbes Shire Council.

SLUMBERJACK are pleased to announce their ‘DICHOTOMY’ 2022 Album Tour, presented by Untitled Group and triple j.
With an immense live show conceptualised and built entirely by the duo themselves, expect an audio visual experience like no other as they tour right around the country this April & May!
Newly signed to Sweat It Out (home to RÜFÜS DU SOL, A-Trak, What So Not, and Dom Dolla), the pair have released a series of acclaimed singles including ‘Poison’ and ’Better Off” from their new album DICHOTOMY, which has recently secured the coveted placement of being named triple j Feature Album. The duo will also be performing “Better Off” on triple j Like A Version tomorrow (Friday 18th February) as well as a cover which will be revealed.
Electronic trailblazers SLUMBERJACK have been looked to as innovators of the Australian dance scene for the better part of the past decade, earmarked for success since their inception in 2014. With a stunning array of EPs including the ARIA gold-certified self-titled ‘SLUMBERJACK’, 2017’s ‘Fracture’—an EP which featured a Gold record and led to their first headline tour, 2019 EP ‘SARAWAK’ and 2020’s ‘Black & Blue,’ the duo have steadily evolved into one of the nation’s most awe-inspiring producers and live acts. Now the industry-respected pair present a career-defining moment, with the release of their debut album ‘DICHOTOMY’, a culmination of a near-decade of technical growth and an indication of the sonic direction SLUMBERJACK looks to take for the future.
As the album title aptly suggests, the 12 track album is a multifaceted body of work, showcasing the versatile and enigmatic bass production that SLUMBERJACK has refined over the years. ‘DICHOTOMY’ looks to explore the juxtaposition between their heavy, club-ready sound alongside their more melodic, emotive leanings.
Their live shows, which have been conceptualised and built entirely by the pair themselves, has seen them galvanise at international festivals such as Lollapalooza, EDC Las Vegas, Holy Ship, HARD Summer, Electric Forest, and Ultra Singapore, in addition to prominent Australian events such as Splendour In The Grass, Beyond the Valley, and Groovin’ The Moo.
These events will have a strictly limited capacity so be quick to secure your spot!
