Multi-platinum selling rock band Crowded House have announced their 2024 Australia and New Zealand – ‘Gravity Stairs‘ Tour – in support of their new album which will be released Friday, May 31 – Pre-save/Pre-order HERE. The highly anticipated ‘Gravity Stairs’ Tour kicks off Saturday, November 9 in Wellington and wraps Saturday, December 14 in Meanjin/Brisbane. Produced by the band with Steven Schram (Paul Kelly, San Cisco), ‘Gravity Stairs’ shows Crowded House in its current incarnation — Neil Finn, Nick Seymour, Mitchell Froom, and Finn’s sons Elroy and Liam.

Speaking about the album title ‘Gravity Stairs’, Neil says the name was inspired by an unnaturally heavy stone staircase near where Neil vacations. “The Gravity Stairs are symbolic of the struggle to ascend, acknowledging the opposing forces of weight on the mechanics of living. It’s an act of will every day.”

Crowded House have sold over 15 million records worldwide as well as earning 13 ARIA Awards, an MTV VMA, and a BRIT Award, the band have generated billions of streams, consistently sold out tours on multiple continents and have been captivating audiences for nearly four decades.

Originally founded by Neil Finn, Nick Seymour, and the late Paul Hester, the group’s self-titled debut in 1986 went platinum, uplifted by iconic smashes ‘Something So Strong‘ and ‘Don’t Dream It’s Over‘ which have been covered by everyone from Miley Cyrus and Ariana Grande to U2, among others.

In 1996, the group delivered a legendary performance to an audience of over 150,000 on the steps of the Sydney Opera House, beginning a hiatus that finished in the wake of Paul’s passing in 2005. This led to albums ‘Time on Earth‘ (2007) and ‘Intriguer‘ (2010) and a return to the Sydney Opera House for three unforgettable nights.

2018 saw Neil join Fleetwood Mac as a full-time member, canvasing the globe on a massive world tour. Two years later, he and Nick led another era of Crowded House, forming the band’s current lineup. Following the announcement of his seventh studio album ‘Things Were Never Good If They’re Not Good Now’ (set for release on the 12th of July via End Times Music), Canadian artist Donovan Woods has shared the announcement of his first trip down under; with a 7 date tour on Australian shores set for June 2024.

The Juno award-winning singer/songwriter will be hitting stages in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Newcastle, Sydney and Brisbane this year – with supports yet to be announced. Throughout his distinguished career, Donovan Woods has built a devoted following who cling to the songwriter’s every word. Presented over two specially curated sessions (90s & 00s) across 7 cities, Testament celebrates the golden era of clubbing, taking over venues, clubs and warehouse spaces where dance music fuelled generations of unity on the dancefloor.

From August 30 – Sep 8, 202 TESTAMENT reignites a passion for vibrant late-night cities and club cultures across the country. Returning to some of our most loved dancefloors, the 2024 tour sees the addition of some exciting new spaces, including the truly epic White Bay Power Station, which is opening its doors for the first time to a large-scale music event of this kind, Felons Barrel Hall for Brisbane, a day session at The Court in Perth and an additional tour stop to the Sunshine Coast – along with The Timberyard [Melbourne], The Studio [Auckland], Miami Marketta [Gold Coast].

With an incredible lineup of the most significant global names of the era, Testament dives deep into the music, the people, the places & the crews who made the 90s & 00s such an iconic era for all of us who know what ‘proper clubbing’ really means.

From Australia’s acid house infancy to the many reinventions of rave through the 90s and the peak of 00s nightlife, Ministry of Sound will be showcasing an iconic lineup of global legends, whose influence is woven into the fabric of modern club life. Headliners include the godfather of acid rave Danny Rampling (UK), house music pioneer Judge Jules (UK), and legendary DJ/producer Seb Fontaine (UK) – all bringing their 90s mastery.

Session Two celebrates sweaty hedonistic 00s dancefloors; with Dutch heavyweight Laidback Luke (NL), big room house maestro Mousse T. (GER), and English electronic dance music duo X-Press 2 (UK) taking the helm.

Adding to the lineup are a huge suite of local talent PLUS Ministry of Sound’s Australian legends – John Course, Mark Dynamix & Dirty South – who between them compiled and mixed album titles which went on to sell millions of copies through the decades across The Annual, Sessions, Clubbers Guide and more.
