Victoria’s beloved surf coast festival Meadow is returning to the Bambra Bowl in March 2025, for their 10th and final installation of the event. With the full 2025 line-up announced soon, the team are thrilled to welcome American songwriter and multi-instrumentalist MJ Lenderman, who will be back in Australia for a special performance on the Meadow Stage.
From humble beginnings on the back of a delivery truck, powered by a borrowed generator, in a mate’s paddock in Bambra, Meadow has grown and developed a loyal community and reputation for presenting line-ups on the cutting edge of contemporary music each autumn. The small, and every bit iconic, stage has hosted the likes of Kurt Vile, Lucy Dacus, Confidence Man, King Gizzard & The Lizard, Angie McMahon, Stella Donnelly, King Stingray, Camp Cope, Methyl Ethel, TFS, Black Midi and many more emerging and established local artists over the last decade.

A hero with the guitar, a poet with the pen (or perhaps the notepad app on his phone) and a songwriter for the ages, MJ Lenderman has skyrocketed to notoriety with the delivery of his near perfect fourth record, Manning Fireworks. It’s impossible to comprehend how this album carries such a throw-away insouciance but harbours some of the sharpest lyrical couplets you could encounter amidst its layers of distortion and rusted-wire guitar solos. It’s like screaming “I don’t care!” at the top of your lungs whilst carefully putting something back together that you’ve just smashed to pieces but doing it in such a way that it’s a thousand times more meaningful, beautiful and precious than it ever was before.
Following his 2022 breakout record Boat Songs, MJ was seen trotting laps around the globe in fellow breakout act Wednesday, alongside touring his own music, as his audience awaited his next release. Described by Pitchfork as ‘witty, sincere, and the mark of a songwriter finding his voice’, MJ Lenderman will be bringing all of the magic of Manning Fireworks to Bambra next year for Meadow’s final festival.
Every vehicle attending the festival will require a car pass. All proceeds support replanting native trees and shrubs across the festival site and surrounding areas (via East Otway Landcare). Hundreds of baby trees from past plantings will be starting to mature by the time punters arrive in autumn!
The “Bambra Express” bus passes are available for the 2025 event.
A $62 + BF return pass will get you from Melbourne Southern Cross Station to Bambra and back again.

Untitled Group, together with Lane 8’s renowned label ‘This Never Happened,’ have announced two exclusive events set to take place this January. With melodic house DJs Massane and EMBRZ taking on the two headline slots, alongside Samantha Loveridge, the unparalleled, immersive, phone-free event is set to take place in both Melbourne and Sydney.
Created by globally renowned DJ and producer Daniel Goldstein, known as Lane 8, the ‘This Never Happened’ concept was born out of a desire for audiences to fully engage with the music without distraction. Since its inception in 2016, the series has invited fans to experience music more intimately, asking them to put their phones away and “experience the moment, don’t record it,” a philosophy that continues to resonate across each show and gathering.
After debuting the event in Australia to sold-out success in 2023, fans can once again expect a deeply atmospheric show without phone screens or cameras – a rare chance to experience the music wholeheartedly with no distractions.
Headlining the event in both Sydney and Melbourne will be Massane and EMBRZ, supported by Samantha Loveridge.
French melodic house DJ and producer, Massane, is known for his signature blend of sonic textures and ability to evoke deep emotion through his music. The artist has drawn widespread attention since his debut EP ‘Visage 1 (No Return)’ on Lane 8’s label, ‘This Never Happened,’ in 2020 and has recently released his ‘Visage EP 7 (Spin My Head)’ in 2024. His sunrise live set for Dawn on the French Riviera, with its captivating visuals and guitar-led tracks, has amassed over 1.5 million views to date proving he is a tour-de-force in the current melodic house landscape.
Dublin-based DJ, producer and singer-songwriter EMBRZ (Jack Casey) is globally celebrated for his chill house sound that seamlessly blends tranquil house melodies with heartfelt lyrics. Known for hits like “Where You Are” and his latest album In ‘Our Own Way’ (2023), EMBRZ has gained a dedicated following and fan base with over 200 million streams to his name and over a dozen sold-out shows worldwide including New York and Toronto.

All Regards share new single “PEICES” and unveil their debut EP ‘ALL OUR DREAMS TURN TO NIGHTMARES’
Melbourne pop-punk rockers All Regards have released their debut EP, ALL OUR DREAMS TURN TO NIGHTMARES, along with a new single and video titled “PIECES” featuring John Stokes of Drastic Park. To mark this launch, All Regards will perform live in Melbourne at the Bergy Bandroom on November 22, with tickets available now.
The EP, produced by Jack Newlyn (Between You & Me, Eat Your Heart Out), channels themes of grief, loss, and addiction through four reflective tracks, aiming to provide listeners a space to connect with its heartfelt lyrics. The band previously teased the EP release date with their single FALLBACK, and the collection also includes earlier releases NO RETURN and LET ME DOWN (GENTLY), leading up to this week’s focus single, PIECES. In PIECES, All Regards explores deeper emotional and sonic territory, with a breakdown featuring Stokes that highlights themes of filling an emotional void, whether from loss or lack of closure.
“Lyrically, this song is a cathartic patchwork of different stories from recent years,” explains vocalist Jeremy Allen. “One story recalls an old friend from high school who went missing without a trace, while another reflects on a close friend’s suicide that left unanswered questions. The song embodies feelings of regret, dreams, denial, and anger.”
Consisting of Jeremy Allen (vocals/guitar), Stefen Sepulveda (guitar/vocals), Mark Fuhrmann (bass), and Lachlan Marshall (drums), All Regards has quickly risen through Australia’s alternative music scene, with notable features on triple j and editorial placements on Spotify and Apple Music. Since their debut single Trainwreck in 2020, the band has played numerous live shows, culminating in a sold-out performance at The Tote in 2022.

Clockenflap 2024 is set to return from November 29 to December 1, marking its annual celebration as Hong Kong’s premier music and arts festival. Known for its diverse lineup, world-class artists, and immersive art installations, this year’s edition is a much-anticipated event with an exciting range of global and regional talent.
This year’s headliners are icons from diverse music genres, ensuring something for every taste. British rap star Central Cee will headline Saturday night, bringing his viral hits and magnetic stage presence to Clockenflap’s main stage. His breakout single, Doja, launched him to global fame on TikTok, and his raw lyrics have connected with audiences worldwide. Fans are looking forward to seeing how his energy and gritty lyrics translate on the Clockenflap stage.
Another highly anticipated performance comes from Air, the French electronic duo known for their pioneering soundscapes and influence in ambient music. Headlining on Friday night, Air’s melodic electronica promises to be a mesmerizing opener for the festival. Representing Taiwan, indie band Deca Joins brings a fresh sound that mixes alternative rock with reflective lyrics. Subsonic Music Festival, one of Australia’s most celebrated underground music and lifestyle festivals, has announced its 15th-anniversary edition, set to take place just north of Sydney from November 29 to December 1, 2024. Known for its dynamic lineup of music, stunning natural setting, and vibrant community spirit, Subsonic has become a haven for music lovers, creatives, and those seeking an escape from the mainstream.
This year marks a significant milestone for Subsonic as it celebrates 15 years of bringing together diverse communities through music, art, and immersive experiences. Made even more significant given the current events and festival climate in NSW and Australia, against the odds, Subsonic is determined to show us why we still need music festivals in our lives.
“We’ve come a long way since our first festival, and it’s been incredible to see the community grow and evolve with us,” says Festival Director Scott Commens. “This year’s lineup is a reflection of our journey – a blend of the sounds that have defined us over the years and fresh, innovative artists who are shaping the future of music.”
This year’s musical lineup features a huge array of international, interstate and local talent, including DJs and bands from a diverse range of genres and backgrounds. International headliners from the U.S and Europe include DJ heavyweights Radio Slave, Toman, Gene on Earth, .Vril, Polygonia and Viken Arman stacked alongside legendary veterans and cult like selectors DJ Zip and Sammy Dee to name only a few. They are joined by an impressive ‘who’s who’ of local and interstate DJs, live acts and bands. Sydney’s “it” artist of the moment Becca Hatch makes her much anticipated Subsonic debut, alongside other live acts like Byron Bay boy wonder Moontide, Melbourne’s The Oddness and others.
While the festival industry has seen its share of obstacles, Subsonic Music Festival is moving forward with a renewed sense of purpose and celebration. As many festivals have been impacted by rising costs, as seen repeatedly in the news cycle, Subsonic has doubled down on its commitment to bringing people together.
15 years is a long time for anything, it is particularly long for a music festival and particularly in the current festival and events climate. Continuing more broadly on the current state of the music industry and festivals in particular, Vanessa said, “At a time when the music industry and events space are struggling and with many festival cancellations making the news, we (more than ever) still emphatically believe in providing a platform that brings together a broad like-minded community in a way that’s unique and offers a much-needed space for expression, discovery and connection in these testing times.”
And at its core, Subsonic is about that community. For over a decade, the festival has cultivated a loyal and diverse following of festivalgoers who return year after year to reconnect with old friends and make new ones while welcoming in newcomers to discover it all for the first time.

On Friday April 11, 2025, ULTRA Beach Gold Coast will return to Southport’s picturesque Broadwater Parklands for its second edition, bringing an impressive lineup of world-renowned DJs to the single-stage event. Then on Saturday, April 12, 2025, ULTRA Australia will once again touch down in Melbourne for the festival’s sixth instalment, showcasing a plethora of chart-topping artists across multiple stages.
