Ixaras Releases ‘new to this’ A Gritty Anthem for the Hesitant Heart

by the partae October 24, 2024
written by the partae

Rising Indie Pop Rock artist Ixaras is set to release her latest single, new to this on October 25, offering a heartfelt preview of her debut EP, full lover fake friend. This final single provides an intimate look at her journey through love and vulnerability, perfectly setting the stage for the highly anticipated EP.

“’new to this’ is inspired by my occasional compulsion to fall a bit too easily,” says Ixaras. “I wrote this song at the age of 13, and it’s a confession of inexperience when it comes to love and relationships.” With its fusion of post-punk guitar tones and catchy indie pop rock melodies, the track embodies the candidness that has become synonymous with Ixaras‘ music.

The release of new to this also marks a milestone in Ixaras’ current Australian tour, where she’s supporting Grinspoon and Aleskiah, as well as headlining her own shows. In addition to her current tour, fans can catch Ixaras at upcoming festivals like NYE On the Hill, and Great Escape TAS. Recently performing at the Sweet Relief Festival alongside Kelis and The Presets, curating her own Happy Feet Festival through her label Anti-Dismal, featuring rising Australian talent such as Kian, Dust, and The Belair Lip Bombs, and showcasing at SXSW Sydney, Ixaras is steadily making a lasting impact on the country’s live music scene.

As a Brisbane-based artist who embodies the spirit of inclusivity and accessibility, Ixaras not only uses her music as a platform for self-expression but also leads her own DIY label, Anti-Dismal, organising all-ages gigs in unconventional spaces like skateparks, backyards, and community halls.

Previous singles from this project, fresh figure and she’s already out the doorstep, garnered significant attention, including first plays on triple j’s Home & Hosed. Ixaras‘ music has received major support from triple j Unearthed, Sirius XMU, 4ZZZ, and JOY FM, with prominent editorial playlist placements on Spotify’s Local Noise and Apple Music’s New Music Daily, Today’s Indie Rock, and more. Editorial outlets such as Junkee, Alterwave, Frankie Magazine, Purple Sneakers, CH-VOID, and The Point Music News have also championed her work.

“This one’s got this great pace about it and I love this buzzy feel and sound on you. Vision is feeling sharper than ever and I’m in love! ★ ★ ★ ★ ½”
– Claire Mooney, triple j Assistant Music Director (on she’s already out the doorstep)“I’m a ride or die ixaras fan – ‘salt’ feels like a 2000’s anthem and it’s making me nostalgic and sentimental and reminiscent for a time that never existed! I adore this upload sm sm sm!
★ ★ ★ ★ ½”

– Anika Luna, triple j Unearthed community producer (on ‘salt’)“Her convulsing dance moves were infectious, with energy bouncing to and fro the stage like a high-stakes game of catch. A particularly hardcore moment included Ixaras screaming lyrics into a rotary telephone, oozing an erratic stage presence that reminded some matured crowd members of the punk glory of the seventies.”
– The Music, Live Review @ The Zoo

COG TOURING REGIONAL WA, SYDNEY + BRISBANE THIS OCT + NOV

by the partae October 24, 2024
written by the partae

COG ADDS CROWBAR BRISBANE SHOW TO THE VINYL TOUR CONTINUED THIS NOVEMBER, TOURING REGIONAL WA, SYDNEY + BRISBANE THIS OCT + NOV

Kicking off The Vinyl Tour Continued earlier this month, today prolific Aussie rockers Cog are pleased to announce an extra live show for 2024, with a performance locked and loaded on Saturday 30 November at Brisbane’s revived live music venue: Crowbar.

Following the recent news that Brisbane live music institute The Zoo would be taken over by Crowbar, the beloved indie venue known for championing all things alternative, punk and heavy, the announcement was music to the ears of heavy fans and bands alike; and Cog will help kick-start this exciting new era onstage at Brisbane’s Crowbar on Saturday 30 November, joined by special guests HAMMERS and The Sea Benz.

Currently on the road visiting largely regional parts of Australia as part of The Vinyl Tour Continued, Cog recently ticked off shows in Bunurong/Frankston, Wadawurrung/Torquay, and Arakwal/Byron Bay, with the latter two shows entirely sold out. The band will be heading next to Goomburrup/Bunbury on Thursday 31 October and Wadandi Boodja/Margaret River on Friday 1 November, supported by Yomi Ship, as well as Walyalup/Fremantle on Saturday 2 November supported by Yomi Ship and Primrose Path. Tickets are selling fast, so don’t delay!

And before heading up to the Sunshine State for their freshly announced Crowbar Brisbane extravaganza as the final stop on The Vinyl Tour Continued, Cog will also jump up on the hallowed stage of Crowbar Sydney on Friday 29 November for the venue’s inaugural birthday celebrations, also joined by HAMMERS and The Sea Benz, with the event sold out months in advance; and the night set to be one for the ages.

Renowned as one of the country’s consummate live acts, this tour sees Cog continue the festivities surrounding the long-awaited release of their seminal albums The New Normal (2005) and Sharing Space (2008) on vinyl for the first time ever, as well as the first pressing of their compilation record Just Visiting (2008).

Tickets for The Vinyl Tour Continued are currently on sale now and available here.

Emerging in the late 90s, Cog‘s enduring legacy on the heavy music landscape has traversed decades, global touring, and a jubilant reunion back in 2016. Via their early EPs, 2000’s Pseudo, and part one and part two of Just Visiting, the behemoth reputation of the Sydney-hailing trio would firmly cement in 2005 in the form of their debut full-length: The New Normal. From here, Cog took the world by storm, relentlessly touring Australia, embarking on overseas runs, igniting stages at Big Day Out, Falls Festival and Homebake, alongside adding a stellar second album to their repertoire in the form of the certified Gold 2008 opus Sharing Space.

Never ones to rest on their laurels, Cog emerged from a five year hiatus in 2016, with an entirely sold out comeback tour across Australia that same year – and some new music soon followed in 2018 via the band’s first new material in a decade: The Middle. From here, Cog have continued to expand their creative spirit, releasing two additional singles, Altered States and Drawn Together, while also remaining active on the touring circuit, including headlining The Other Festival and Thrashville in 2023.

Reaching a milestone in 2023, Cog‘s long road to finally releasing their albums on vinyl spanned a 15 year uphill battle, with the group locked into a contract and awaiting resolution ever since delivering Sharing Space to their label in 2008. Now armed with complete ownership of the rights to all of their music, the pressing of Cog‘s sonic legacy onto vinyl sparked a huge headline run earlier this year, with the trio’s East Coast round of The Vinyl Tour in March wowing crowds in Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane, Newcastle, Canberra and Sydney, and majority of shows sold out.

Exclusively through Rare Records, The New Normal and Sharing Space are now available pressed on 3 x 180g vinyl, housed in deluxe triple gatefold sleeves, with a range of variants and vinyl combinations on offer.

Tickets for The Vinyl Tour Continued are on-sale now, do not miss this unforgettable run of shows from one of Australia’s finest this October and November.

Peggy Gou confirms Logic1000 and William Kiss as special guests on November tour

MG Live and Frontier Touring are pumped to announce local electronic producers and DJs Logic1000 (Sydney born / Berlin based) and William Kiss (Melbourne based) as special guests for acclaimed South Korean, Berlin based DJ, producer, Peggy Gou east coast November tour – kicking off next month!

Gou’s first Australian headline tour in two years, kicks off at Brisbane Showgrounds on Friday 15 November before heading to Munro Warehouse, Sydney on Saturday 16 November and winding up at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl, Melbourne on Sunday 17 November.  Tickets via frontiertouring.com/peggygou

About Peggy Gou
There has never been a figure in pop culture like Peggy Gou. The self-managed South Korean-born, Berlin-based producer and artist is uniquely revered as both an underground icon and global sensation, sticking by her own unwavering vision to become one of the most in-demand electronic music artists and DJs in the world.

In 2023, Gou released her hit single ‘(It Goes Like) Nanana’ – Platinum in AU, #1 ARIA Club Single, #2 ARIA Dance Single, voted #15 in triple j Hottest 100, #1 on Global Shazam Chart, #1 Spotify Global Daily Chart, #1 Spotify AU Viral Chart – which was the first track from her hot debut album I Hear You – #5 ARIA Dance Chart and #7 ARIA Vinyl Chart – which also features the official singles ‘Lobster Telephone’, ‘1+1=11’, ‘I Believe In Love Again (with Lenny Kravitz)’ and ‘I Go’.  Last month, Gou released an expanded version of her acclaimed debut album, titled I Hear You – Bonus Tracks Edition (out now via Remote Control, here) and includes remixes from Mogwaa, Koreless, Jex Opolis, Spray and more.

Topping the singles charts in multiple countries and soon to be streamed over a quarter of a billion times it sees Gou straddling the underground and mainstream in a way most artists can only aspire to.

Club bangers include ‘(It Goes Like) Nanana’, ‘Lobster Telephone’, ‘It Makes You Forget (Itgehane)’, ‘Starry Night’, ‘1+1=11’, ‘I Believe In Love Again (with Lenny Kravitz)’ and Kylie Minogue ‘Can’t Get You Out Of My Head (Peggy Gou’s Midnight Remix)’.

Watch: Logic1000 – oceanic ft. Vagabon [rebirth] (official video)

About Logic1000
Logic1000 is the moniker of Sydney born, Berlin based producer and DJ Samantha Poulter. Her unique production process conjures concepts, genres, samples, hyper-accurate digital synths, and disembodied textures.

In 2023 Logic experienced a surge of creativity when she became a mother and felt compelled to create something powerful despite her limited time, which led to the release of Mother in March 2024, her debut album with Because Music. Describing the album as a “love letter to house music,” it blends genres like Deep House, UK Funky, and Garage and reflects her creative evolution and personal journey into parenthood, a milestone she never imagined achieving and one that she chronicles across her podcast ‘Therapy’ featuring guests including Jayda G, Anna Lunoe and Jamz Supernova. The album saw high praise from the likes of Mixmag (Best of 2024) DJ Mag (Album of The Month), Sydney Morning Herald, Guardian, Sunday Times, Billboard and Resident Advisor.

Poulter’s career began in her late 20s when she produced music inspired by her dissatisfaction with the current scene. Her breakthrough came with the track ‘DJ Logic Please Forgive Me,’ championed by Four Tet, which propelled her from making songs on SoundCloud to playing at large festivals and remixing the likes Dua Lipa, Don Toliver, Shygirl and Caribou.

Now confident in her roles as an artist and mother, Poulter reclaims her space in the music world. She has set herself on a path for delivering music that is open-hearted and irresistibly melodic, house music that speaks directly to what it is to be human.

William Kiss

Listen (Soundcloud) : William Kiss

About William Kiss
Melbourne’s producer and DJ William Kiss has a firm foothold on his signature house and techno sound, having signed his most successful tracks on Gudu, Rekids, UNCAGE, Club Bad, Bush and Carl Cox’s 23rd Century. Clocking up over 5 million streams across his catalogue and driving clubs and stages across Australia, Asia and Europe – with standout sets at institutions like Watergate, Pike’s Ibiza, and staple festivals such as Beyond The Valley and Sundancer.

With a decisive focus on percussive elements, undertones full of groove, rumbling baselines and main floor hooks, William creates music for the masses with classic electronic endurance. Stemming from a percussion-based background, the complexities and the sometimes-understated simplicities of techno hues have always struck a chord with him, fascinated by the raw power conveyed through basic elements. Drawing influence from all ends of the musical spectrum, William Kiss maintains the relentless passion and drive to create, with a highly anticipated slew of forthcoming releases via pioneering local and international labels.

ELECTRONIC DUO JERSEY ANNOUNCE AUSTRALIAN TOUR

FRENCH ELECTRONIC DUO JERSEY ANNOUNCE PLEASE, DON’T BREAK OUR NEW SYNTHS
AUSTRALIAN TOUR

PLAYING BEYOND THE VALLEY (VIC), FIELD DAY (NSW)
+ BRISBANE HEADLINE SHOW

PRAISE FOR JERSEY

“The birth of a phenomenon”
Magnetic Magazine

“Jersey has quickly become one of the most exciting names in the electronic scene”
Beatportal

“Expansive and intimate all at once in their modern and fan-declared “futuristic” sound”
EARMILK

“They stand out amidst the crowd, choosing a unique path to showcase their authenticity”
Your EDM

“The French DJ duo you have been searching for”
Ones To Watch

Making their Australian live debut this summer with appearances at Beyond The Valley in Victoria and Field Day in Sydney, French electronic duo Jersey today reveal their Please, Don’t Break Our New Synths tour, announcing a headline show at The Princess Theatre in Brisbane presented by Penny Drop and Frontier Touring. Frontier Member pre-sale commences Friday 25 October 12pm local time ahead of the general on-sale Monday 28 October 12pm local time. Tickets and tour information via frontiertouring.com/jersey.

First rising to fame via their viral DIY living room parties in Paris, Jersey have since positioned themselves as one of the most promising newcomers in the global electronic scene. From secret sets in London and Paris, to sold out world festival tour across MELT! (DE), All Points East (UK), Dour (BE) and FIB (ESP), Portola (US) and more, the duo have continued to skyrocket following the release of their new EP Over & Over earlier this month.

Featuring singles ‘Over & Over’, ‘Ghost Of What Could Be’ and ‘I Need For Speed’, Over & Over is a transportative listen, drawing from brothers Carl and Renaud’s deep musical references inspired by French-touch and indie rock of the BBC Radio waves picked up during their childhood on the Normandy coast. Filtering these influences into a novel and playful sound throughout the EP, Jersey disperse serrated synths and glitchy, ultra-sheen vocals that conjures their one-of-a-kind position in the global electronic space.

Of the project, the duo share, “For now, we’re not calibrated to any particular scene, and that’s something we actually like. We’re really trying to do something that feels more like us, drawing from our more distant musical references. We essentially work with a desire for novelty, making sure to offer something different with each track. We’re super happy to have worked on our voices, their textures, and to have delivered an artistically coherent EP. We also tried out a few offbeat experiments that are close to our hearts and make it meaningful to us too (like ‘Giant Cotton Balls’ and ‘Colors Turn Grey’). What motivates us is really giving these super unique tracks greater visibility, in hopes of expanding, as much as we can at our scale, the vision of freedom in music.”

Trailblazers of the spirited new generation of French electronica, earned consistent radio support across the board from triple j, fbi.radio, 3RRR, SYN FM, Kiss FM UK, George FM NZ, KCRW and BBC 1‘s Sian Eleri, who hailed them as “one for the proper speed demons”, alongside praise from tastemakers including Crack Magazine, 10 Magazine, Ones To Watch and more.

Olivia Rodrigo – Guts World Tour – 17 October 2024, Sydney

by the partae October 18, 2024
written by the partae

“Seeing you tonight? It’s a bad idea, right?”. The ‘Guts’ tour officially hits Sydney as the gen z’s very own punk rock princess Olivia Rodrigo explodes onto stage in a sparkling ensemble, opening the night with her hit single ‘Bad Idea Right?’ from her sophomore album ‘Guts’, a song that perfectly set the scene for the night with the five words “maybe I can fix him?”.

Since her hit single ‘Driver’s License’, Olivia’s life leapt from Disney stardom (starring in the hit series ‘High School Musical the Musical the Series’) to becoming the powerhouse pop icon she’s known as today. Her debut album ‘Sour’ instantly became a chart-topping success, dominating streaming platforms and garnering the hearts of millions worldwide. Her lyrical mix of teenage heartbreak and melodrama mixed with the hard hitting, distorted instrumentals instantly made her be known as a force to be reckoned with amongst the upcoming new artists of her generation, a sound that was seamlessly transitioned into her live performances.

The night went on like a theatrical spectacle, with Olivia creating moments within each part of the night highlighted by dynamic set designs and carefully curated outfit changes. Songs like “Ballad of a Homeschooled Girl” and “Teenage Dream” offered us a rare glimpse into her own personal life, her super catchy and relatable lyrics echoing the room from the voices in the crowd. Lead single “Vampire” and “Making the Bed” gave us the signature Olivia ballads she’s known for while being backed by the absolutely gigantic wall of sound delivered from her band, while hard hitters “Pretty Isn’t Pretty” and “Traitor” showed us a more vulnerable side with themes that hit very close to home for a lot of the audience, seeing a piece of themselves in the sequin studded starlet.

Her set was broken into a mix of her upbeat and cheerful hits as well as some more intimate moments through her acoustic driven songs, with Olivia serenading the crowd through “Logical” and “Enough for You” sitting on the edge of the moon surrounded by a scene of stars. Her crowd engagement was next to none, the whole arena screaming in high pitch unison. Echoes of her lyrics bled through every seat, with “Déjà vu” and “Good 4 U” being personal standouts of the night, feet stomping and lungs running out of air as every person in the room (my posse and I very much included) yelled lyrics about revenge, heartbreak and longing so loud that by the end of the night, the only appropriate way to end the night was to look around and ask “Sydney, who hurt you?”

Olivia continues her performances at Qudos up until next Tuesday the 22nd of October – so on the chance that you luck out on Tixel, be sure to hit the glitter bar and be ready for a night full of beautifully chaotic catharsis.

KNOTFEST, the destination festival brand curated by SLIPKNOT, returns to Australia in 2025.

The music and counterculture experience will hit the East coast of Australia starting on Friday, February 28th at Flemington Racecourse in Melbourne, then heads to Brisbane on Sunday, March 2nd at Brisbane Showground before wrapping up in Sydney on Saturday, March 8th at Centennial Park.

Headlined by SLIPKNOT, the 2025 festival line-up also includes A DAY TO REMEMBER, BABYMETAL, SLAUGHTER TO PREVAIL, POLARIS, WITHIN TEMPTATION, ENTER SHIKARI, HATEBREED, IN HEARTS WAKE, HEALTH, MISS MAY I, VENDED and SUNAMI.

Following their monumental performances launching Australia’s first ever KNOTFEST in 2023, SLIPKNOT will return down under in 2025 to headline proceedings for this not-to-be-missed rock and heavy music festival.

As always, attendees can expect a performance unlike any other, from a band who only get more thrilling, exciting and cathartic as time goes on. Having released a new record in 2022, The End, So Far (crowned at #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart; their fourth consecutive album to do so), SLIPKNOT refuse to rest on past glories and continue to innovate, with fan favourites including as many new songs as older. Between enduring fan-revered singles like Duality, Psychosocial and Wait and Bleed, as well as deeper cuts and newer material over the years, SLIPKNOT’s drive and creativity bleeds through their jaw-dropping live performances.

In 2012, the journey to creating a platform of their own in KNOTFEST, was born out of SLIPKNOT’s dedication to creating a memorable live experience for audiences around the world. Headline slots at some of the world’s biggest festivals including Download, Wacken, Rock In Rio, Hellfest and more perfectly set SLIPKNOT up with the ambition to take things further; building their own festival that not only championed new waves of incredible talent, but enshrined their own status as one of the best bands to do it.”

No strangers to Australian shores, Florida-hailing quartet A DAY TO REMEMBER head to Australia for the first time since 2019. Wielding an irresistible melting pot of metalcore, pop-punk and post-hardcore, A DAY TO REMEMBER have remained one of the most versatile and vigorous acts to emerge from the early 2000s, with the group remaining an active force from the halcyon days of Myspace and physical media through to the modern era of TikTok and streaming. In command of hundreds of millions of Spotify streams and YouTube views, seven studio albums, including two certified Gold records, entirely sold out tours in their wake, and their own curated Self Help Festival.

Electrifying purveyors of kawaii metal, BABYMETAL, will bring their kaleidoscopic infusion of J-pop-meets-heavy-metal wizardry. BABYMETAL have taken the heavy world by storm since first forming in 2010. Between their exclusive global fanbase, THE ONE, ongoing chart success, including the rare feat as becoming the first Asian act to storm to the top of the Billboard Rock Albums chart, avant-garde creative aesthetics and direction, and a legion of celebrity fans, including Corey Taylor, Rob Zombie, Metallica, Deftones and Limp Bizkit, BABYMETAL unleashed their fourth studio album The Other One in 2023 and sold out their first Australian headline tour in 2023. The group also recently teamed up with German metal partystarters Electric Callboy on the hyper and heaving track RATATATA.

After obliterating Aussie crowds with their debut Australian performance as part of Good Things Festival in 2023, Russian deathcore behemoths SLAUGHTER TO PREVAIL led by the formidable frontman, Alex Terrible, bring a ferocious blend of deathcore and blackened metal sonic onslaught that leaves no survivors. Their relentless pursuit of metal domination has led them to conquer stages across the globe, and their relentless dedication to their craft and their unwavering stance against violence, they have the ability to captivate audiences with their brutal yet melodic compositions.

Earning a reputation as one of the most formidable Australian heavy bands of their generation, Sydney’s POLARIS weld a gripping blend of melodic metalcore, electronica, lush post rock and heartfelt lyricism, with their most recent album, 2023’s Fatalism, earning the group their first ever #1 ARIA Albums Chart debut, winning AIR’s Best Independent Heavy Album award as well as securing their third ARIA Music Award nomination following nods for 2017’s The Mortal Coil and 2020’s The Death of Me. Along with their laundry list of accolades are sold-out headline tours of Australia and tours across the globe as well as appearing at multiple international festivals.

Pioneers of dark and anthemic music, WITHIN TEMPTATION, has captivated audiences for over 20 years and the Dutch powerhouse modern rockers will head to Australia for the very first time in 2025. Their career spans eight studio albums, over four million records sold and dominating the Billboard Mainstream Rock Charts, WITHIN TEMPTATION are renowned for their powerful live performances.

British rockers ENTER SHIKARI exploded onto the scene in 2023 and their 2007 debut album Take to the Skies generated significant chart success and certified Gold status. A band who wield an exhilarating amalgamation of alt rock, and electronica along with drum and bass, dubstep and beyond, ENTER SHIKARI also delve into societal and personal themes, seen most recently on 2023’s A Kiss for the Whole World, which debuted #1 on the UK album charts. They have garnered multiple award wins and nominations over the years, including for their unforgettable onstage prowess.

American heavy metal hardcore icons HATEBREED are set to detonate their monstrous live show down under, celebrating 30 years as a band. Commemorating three decades in existence that has spanned eight studio albums, multiple Billboard 200 appearances and global fanbase, HATEBREED are also primed to salute their seminal sophomore album, 2002’s Perseverance, with Australian audiences. Perseverance paved the way for the fusion of hardcore and metal and received worldwide recognition hailing HATEBREED as forefronts of the genre.

Hailing from Byron Bay, Australian metalcore giants, IN HEARTS WAKE, are fresh off the release of their sixth studio album, Incarnation and national Australian headline tour. IN HEARTS WAKE fuse themes of social and environmental justice into their palpitating brand of metalcore, with millions of streams and a dedicated fanbase across the globe flourishing alongside the band’s environmental endeavours.

Adding to the brutality is Los Angeles industrial cult-faves HEALTH following their entirely sold out down under headline run earlier this year. An addictive and transcendent force to be reckoned with, HEALTH’s industrial-cum metal wiles lurch under your skin while balancing nihilism and mesmerising textures, witnessed most vividly on their 2023 full length album RAT WARS. All the way from Ohio, metal mavericks MISS MAY I will lend their trademark sonic fury to the KNOTFEST experience, following the recent unveiling of their entirely re-recorded 15th anniversary version of their beloved 2009 debut album Apologies Are for the Weak.

Hailing from Des Moines, Iowa, VENDED has been pushing the limits of combustible energy and raw aggression since their 2018 inception. Their bold, honest, passionate take on heavy music raises the flag for a new generation. Revolver heralded them as one of 10 Bands Leading the New Wave of Nü-Metal and they have shared stages supporting Bring Me The Horizon, Avenged Sevenfold, Korn, and Knocked Loose and headliners/festivals in North America, Europe and South America.

San Fran bay area hardcore group SUNAMI formed in 2019. Originally intended as a short-lived joke band however after gaining notoriety for their violent debut live performance, the band continued past their planned time frame with the release of three EP’s and their self-titled debut album in 2023. Revolver credited them as “in the upper echelon of bands dominating the hardcore zeitgeist.”

KNOTFEST Australia 2025 will see the elevated return of the fan-favourite KNOTFEST MUSEUM. The enhanced museum will unveil iconic items throughout SLIPKNOT’s 25 year defining career including new activations, photo op, and more that immerse you into SLIPKNOT history/lore. This can’t miss event will bring the globally loved attraction back to Australia. As this event sold out last time, tickets are strictly limited in each city.

Early bird pre-sale tickets are on sale at 11am local time on Monday 21st October here and general public tickets go on sale at 3pm local time on Wednesday 23rd October here.

written by the partae

This year, Spilt Milk is shaking things up by moving away from its traditional mega music festival format to introduce the more intimate Spilt Milk House Party. After canceling its long-standing festival in July 2024, the team is excited to present a curated lineup of talented artists set to perform across three states.

Headlining the event is Australia’s pop sensation Troye Sivan, who has been making waves with his latest hits, including “Rush” and “Got Me Started” from his album Something to Give Each Other. Fresh off his tour with Charli XCX, Sivan is hotter than ever.

Joining him on stage is the British indie-pop sensation Glass Animals, known for their chart-topping track “Heat Waves.” The band, who topped the Hottest 100 in 2020, shares a unique bond with Australia, as frontman Dave Bayley humorously revealed he even got a tattoo of the country on his body.

G Flip, the Melbourne-born artist who transitioned from drummer to singer and reality star, will also take the stage with fan favorites like “The Worst Person Alive” and “Be Your Man.” Adding to the lineup is UK artist Artemas, who has captivated audiences with his viral TikTok hits “i like the way you kiss me” and “if u think i’m pretty.” Additionally, Sycco, a talented First Nations singer-songwriter, will perform her hit “Dribble” along with tracks from her new album Zorb, a psychedelic pop offering.

BEN ABRAHAM announces Christmas shows in SYDNEY & MELBOURNE – December 2024

by the partae October 15, 2024
written by the partae

Presale tickets available now

Frontier Touring is proud to present award-winning Melbourne-raised, Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter Ben Abraham, returning home this December for two exclusive headline shows in Sydney and Melbourne: Ben Abraham’s Christmas Special.

Joined by special guests on stage, fans can catch the in-demand songwriter performing at the Metro Theatre, Sydney, on Wednesday 18 December and Forum Melbourne on Friday 20 December with a captivating two and a half hour show.

Renowned for his talent for pairing profoundly personal lyrics with soulful and cinematic indie folk with electronic flourishes, as heard on tracks such as ‘Never Been Better’, ‘If I Didn’t Love You’, ‘This Is On Me – ft. Sara Bareilles’ and more, Ben’s annual Christmas shows are not to be missed. Starting the night with his full band performing original music, fans can expect an indie ‘carols by candlelight’ second set featuring a few special guests (past alumni including the likes of Vance Joy and Gotye).

Tickets will go on sale Wednesday 16 October (12pm AEDT) via frontiertouring.com/benabraham. Frontier Members can get early access via the Frontier Presale, which starts today: Monday 14 October (11am AEDT) – see website for details.

WATCH: Ben Abraham – “Never Been Better (Walk + Sing with Lily James)”

After years of working as a songwriter for other artists – including co-writing Kesha’s double-platinum, GRAMMY nominated smash hit ‘Praying’ – Abraham released his sophomore album, Friendly Fire, in 2022. Labelled “spectacular” by website Essentially Pop, the record captured Abraham’s journey of losing faith after a painful breakup. 2024 has been a year of new beginnings: newly independent, Ben is excited to be releasing new music… some of which fans may get to hear at these special shows.

Don’t miss the one and only Ben Abraham, when he returns home to Melbourne and Sydney this December!
