BMF RETURNS MARCH 2-10, 2025

An unparalleled underwater listening experience at a swimming pool and a messy punk rock show at a mid-century library are two of the new and unusual events that Merri-bek City Council has just added to the Brunswick Music Festival program.

These new unique ways to experience music accompany previously announced programming including Sydney Road Street Party and two stunning nights at Gilpin Park featuring headliners Bahamadia, Elsy Wameyo, Kaiit and Miss Kaninna.

In 2025, unique new spaces and trusted local music venues alike will bring fresh community curated events to the table ensuring even the most seasoned gig goer experiences something new and unusual this March 2-10.

Catch a sonic collage experience at Sydney Road’s That Paper Joint, a messy punk rock show at Brunswick’s iconic mid-century library or inhabit Mz Rizk’s special celebration of Arabic culture, Habibi Hafla in Brunswick East’s Fleming Park .

Tangle Agency and Crates Mates are chucking a twelve-hour party at Quad Club, Jess Locke heads up International Women’s Day celebrations at Hotel Railway, while “”Beats to Draw to,” at Unassigned Gallery invites audiences to create works of art whilst enjoying live musical performances.

Kutcha and Friends are popping up in the brand new Yubup Park and Brunswick Baths will even host an unparalleled underwater listening experience, ‘Saturate’. This incredible commissioned work by Sara Rettalick will debut at BMF in 2025.

Merri-bek City Council Mayor Helen Davidson said:

“The Brunswick Music Festival continues to be a shining example of Merri-bek’s creativity, diversity, and community spirit.
