Dance Music Titans Unite: Iconic Artist Loco Dice Welcomes to His Label SB Recordings AFROJACK Under His Kapuchon Moniker with Kapuchon’s Single “Work” with Sven Fields

Artists: Sven Fields, Kapuchon
Title: Work (incl. Loco Dice Remix)
Label: SB Recordings

Download / Stream

Legendary German artist Loco Dice and his SB Recordings unveil a groundbreaking release coming from the iconic Dutch artist AFROJACK, under his tech-house alias Kapuchon, and his rising Dutch fellow Sven Fields. After releasing the likes of Chuckie, Carloh, Chicks Luv Us and more, Kapuchon and Sven Fields‘s track “Work” is SB Recordings‘ 10th release so far, a sonic powerhouse that seamlessly blends their signature energy and goes perfectly hand in hand with Loco Dice‘s remix, serving as the Dice‘s imprint’s milestone and a sign of its fast-paced development since the label launched not so long ago in 2023. The original version by Kapuchon and Sven, alongside a fierce remix by the SB Recordings‘ boss himself, is now available for your listening pleasure as each version offers its own distinct sonic journey, standing out as a true testament to the synergy between these dance music titans and how Loco Dice has been leading that space, serving as a world-class tastemaker since he launched his famed Desolat label in 2007. Featuring a driving four-on-the-floor bassline, infectious vocals of A$AP Ferg, and a gritty, industrial vibe, “Work” is poised to dominate dancefloors worldwide. As Loco Dice‘s SB Recordings project continues to gain momentum, we eagerly anticipate the exciting collaborations and musical innovations that await this music industry giant.

“I have known Nick, aka AFROJACK, for a very long time. We have mutual friends, the Dutch crew, Benny Rodriguez, and Chuckie, among others. We were always cool with each other, had a good time when we’d meet, exchanged music, etc. Then, one day, Nick sent me “Work,” and I went all for it. I am a huge A$AP Ferg fan, and I was amazed that someone really did it and made something original with it. I started to play it immediately to crowds going mental to it. I also realized that I could do something with the track and make it even more mine. I proposed the release on my label, so here it is, and I can’t be happier. Nick and I have always wanted to do something together, and now, the time has come.” – Loco Dice

“Me and Loco Dice go way back, so I’m very happy to finally put something out together, and it’s amazing to get creative with Sven‘s fresh take on the genre.” – AFROJACK/Kapuchon

Loco Dice

From early breakout hit “Phat Dope Shit” in 2002 to agenda-setting debut album “7 Dunham Place” on his own now long-running and well-regarded Desolat, Dice has always been in the headlines. After his debut came to the major label follow-up “Underground Sound Suicide” with guests like Giggs, Just Blaze, and Neneh Cherry, then the agenda-setting and club-focussed house and techno showcase that was “Love Letters.” Add in tens of EPs on Ovum, Minus, Cocoon, to name a few; he has always been at the beating heart of the electronic scene. His DJ sets, too, always brim with personality, whether in a small underground basement or on an iconic main stage at some of the world’s top festivals, playing to thousands. He has had era-defining residencies at iconic Ibiza super clubs like Circoloco at DC-10 and on the Amnesia Terrace as well at Space Miami. His lockdown move was to unveil En Couleur, a label reserved exclusively for the music he produced at that time. It shows another side of Dice‘s ever-evolving sound. What followed were his clothing brand Seran Bendecidos and SB Recordings, a new label open to all styles of dance music, a recent release is a testament to that approach. All of this proves, then, that he is undoubtedly an insatiable creative force.

Kapuchon/AFROJACK

As one of the most innovative and sought-after artists, GRAMMY Award-winning producer and DJ AFROJACK, continues to shatter boundaries that push music in bold new directions. Since making his breakthrough with the multi-platinum-selling single ‘Take Over Control‘, the Dutch-born, genre-bending musician, now signed to The Shalizi Group, has lent his production skills to tracks and co-created major hits for artists such as Beyoncé, Pitbull, Will.i.am, Lil Jon and more. In recent years, AFROJACK was named one of the 50 Most Important People in EDM by Rolling Stone and placed on the Forbes ’30 Under 30′ music list. In 2010, he was one of the first DJs to secure a Las Vegas residency and now, fourteen years later, he continues to entertain global audiences as a headlining resident artist for the Wynn Las Vegas. AFROJACK continuously travels the world performing at the biggest clubs and festivals while producing new music with his label WALL Recordings, which recently completed construction of a new 800,000+ Sq Ft artist development center.

Sven Fields

Sven Fields has been paving the way for himself since he was a teenager. Inspired by the eclectic music tastes of his parents, Sven began his journey into music production at 19. Frequenting local clubs with friends, he developed a deep appreciation for hip-hop and house music, shaping his unique style. His breakthrough came in 2023 when he was discovered by AFROJACK during a gaming session in Call of Duty: Warzone. This chance encounter led to a signing with AFROJACK‘s label, WALL Recordings. Sven released a collaboration with AFROJACK‘s tech house alias ‘Kapuchon‘ and a remix of AFROJACK‘s classic ‘Polkadots‘ with Chasner. These tracks garnered significant attention, earning support from renowned DJs such as Diplo, Sofi Tukker, Martin Garrix, and more. Since 2024, Sven Fields‘ tracks have been supported by prominent names in the industry, including Meduza, AFROJACK, James Hype, Gordo, Diplo, and Loco Dice. His innovative approach of blending hip-hop elements with tech house has made waves on the SoundCloud charts and Beatport’s Tech House chart. Sven‘s latest release, “Fuego,” on his label Fields Vision, reflects his dedication and evolving talent in the tech house scene.

written by the partae

LA-Based Powerhouse Artist – The Archer, Delivers Organic and Spiritual House Anthem “Say Your Grace,” Featuring Lisa Odour-Noah. Out now on There Is A Light Label Also Serving as Foundation Helping Achieve Underprivileged People’s Dreams

Artists: The Archer, Lisa Oduor-Noah
Title: Say Your Grace
Label: There Is A Light

Los Angeles-based DJ and producer The Archer unveils his latest house single, “Say Your Grace,” featuring the soulful vocals of Kenyan singer-songwriter Lisa Oduor-Noah. With its organica-house downtempo beat and touching lyrics, “Say Your Grace” is both hypnotizing and soothing at the same time. Released on There Is A Light, the label and foundation established by The Archer himself, which so far gave away over 600K USD to 100+ students to lift up genuine talent and create real opportunities for them, helping them sing for and finish IO Music Academy and more opportunities the foundation creates. This powerful collaboration is a testament to the spiritual and, thanks to There Is A Light foundation, the literal power of music and showcases vThe Archer’s commitment to uplifting emerging talent. Beyond his musical endeavors, he’s one of California‘s best trial lawyers and a founder of The Homampour Law Firm.

“‘Say Your Grace‘ is a testament to the spiritual power to guide and save us at any time during this human experience. This collaboration also fulfills my passion for showcasing the incredible talent of African artists like Lisa Oduor Noah, bridging cultures through the universal language of music and spirituality” – The Archer about “Say Your Grace“

“At the core of the label and scholarship initiatives is a commitment to lifting up genuine talent and creating real opportunities for emerging artists to share their music with the world. In an industry that’s become more about inflated numbers and flashy promos, the focus remains on fostering authentic artistry. We’re here to build a space where substance matters more than superficiality, where real music thrives. Working daily on the development of the label and its roster, I’ve learned firsthand how an artist can truly grow when they have the right support system. It’s more than just dropping tracks – it’s about ensuring each release is backed by creative marketing, smart promotion and unwavering support. With this foundation, our artists aren’t just surviving the noise; they’re standing out, letting their unique voices be heard and their talents recognized and shared. Looking back on the students we have supported through our scholarship programs, it’s been incredibly rewarding to see raw potential evolve into fully realized talent. Our collaboration with Icon Collective and IO Music Academy has been a game-changer, breathing new life into these artists’ productions and careers. Their progress is a powerful reminder of how partnership and dedicated support can generate the future of music.” – The Archer about There Is A Light foundation

Auckland’s COAST ARCADE return with new single ‘BAITED’

by the partae September 5, 2024
written by the partae

Having enjoyed a fruitful year of music and performances in 2023, it’s time for Auckland indie-rock/pop act COAST ARCADE to step into their next phase of evolution.

Returning with their first single for 2024 in ‘BAITED’, Coast Arcade demonstrate that the sense of fun and chemistry that has threaded through their previous material has refused to wane, yet the songwriting and storytelling talent they harness has continued to refine as they look forward to more new music on the horizon.

Recorded at Big Fan Studios in Auckland, ‘Baited’ was produced by Coast Arcade’s Bella Bavin, with Clint Murphy (North Atlas, Enter Shikari) on mixing, award-winning producer and songwriter Noema Te Hau (Lorde, Taylor Swift) on engineering, and Ryan Smith (L.S. Dunes, Smashing Pumpkins) on mastering. A dream team in effect to bring ‘Baited’ to life, Coast Arcade have said about the creative process behind this project,

“We’re going to go heavier for a little while and see where we end up, we’re really excited to be working with people who really support and back the band.”  COAST ARCADE

Accompanying the release of ‘Baited’, Coast Arcade have also shared today the OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO for the track. Filmed in and around Auckland City, Coast Arcade captures the energy of the song, under the direction of David Argue. Says the band about how ‘Baited’ came together and what it represents for them,

“‘Baited’ is for anyone who has ever felt like they couldn’t or shouldn’t stand up for themselves. People will always tell you to “pick your battles” or “it’s not worth it” but if it’s important to you, you should speak your mind.”  COAST ARCADE

Since 2021, Coast Arcade have been building and developing an enviable reputation as a live act; clocking impressive opening spots early for the likes of Bootleg Rascal, The Grogans, The Terrys, Teenage Dads and The Beths. Curating an unbeatable electricity together on stage, Coast Arcade have been able to bring the energy felt on record, effortlessly to their live performances.

Their debut EP, 2023’s Next To Me, introduced listeners to the breadth of Coast Arcade’s writing and instrumentation; exciting music building on vibrant melodies and arrangement. Featuring singles ‘Surf Club’ and ‘Highest Heights’ – the latter of which has accrued over 200,000 streams alone – the EP was the perfect statement of intent and a display of the potential this young group had tapped into.

With the release of ‘Baited’, Coast Arcade pick up where they left off, regenerating the buzz of 2023 and flipping into a bright new moment as we head into the second half of 2024.

PRAISE

“With their infectious energy, powerful melodies, and insightful lyricism, this captivating band is poised to leave a mark on the music scene both in New Zealand and beyond.”

ONES TO WATCH

“The Beths may need to take a glance over their shoulder – Coast Arcade‘s new stadium-ready indie rock bop Highest Heights is ready to take over.”

NZ MUSICIAN

“Coast Arcade are a bright, young, vibrant band pushing their way into the New Zealand music scene with their surf-indie-rock style that has made impressions with myself and others across the country.”

With the news, she also shares her brand new single, ‘Angel Music’ with MGNA Crrrta. LISTEN HERE + PRE-SAVE GIRL EDM (DISC 1) HERE.

Expanding on the narrative Ninajirachi introduced with the initial releases of 4×4 and girl EDM, girl EDM (disc 1) combines tracks from both EPs to mark the perfect vehicle for new fans and day one listeners alike to discover, revisit and familiarise with the Ninajirachi canon before the next phase begins. In another installment of a body of work that showcases Ninajirachi’s range on an individual and collaborative level, today she shares her new track ‘Angel Music’ with NYC-based duo MGNA Crrrta. A perfect anchor point for the deluxe edition, ‘Angel Music’ is a frenzied highlight that finds a way to meet in the middle of both projects’ take on golden-era infused electro-pop.

Hitting the spot with super-bass and bouncy synth leads, ‘Angel Music’ is built on the shared interest of simultaneous dance music innovation and revival, of which Ninajirachi shares “I toured America with MGNA Crrrta in Jan/Feb 2024 and we made this song in New York, then I played it for the first time ever at EDC. MGNA Crrrta are sooooo brilliant and adventurous, their music, videos, shows, everything I’m so obsessed and inspired by them. With her feet firmly planted in the Australian industry and international music landscape, Ninajirachi effortlessly draws from her earliest influences of electronic music to pull apart the seams of hard dance, electro house, trance and pop. Showcased in the release of her debut mixtape Second Nature, 2023 EP 4×4 and most recent girl EDM, she’s picked up praise from the likes of triple j, Crack Magazine, Kaltblut, Metal Magazine, Clash Magazine, Bandcamp, Billboard, Frankie Magazine, Rolling Stone, 10 Magazine among others for her innovation and inclusivity in the wider electronic scene.

An artist pioneering forward-thinking club, pop, electronic, and dance music, the uniqueness of Ninajirachi’s abilities extends past virtual limits, charting her proposition in the winder electronic space both locally and globally.

Hello Sunshine 2025: Stone Temple Pilots, Smash Mouth, More

by the partae September 3, 2024
written by the partae

Say hello to 2025 and get set to soak up some summer vibes; Melbourne’s biggest family-friendly music and food event Hello Sunshine will return next March for an unforgettable celebration of music, tasty treats and endless entertainment. An all-ages event that caters to diehard music fans, parents, kids, foodies and everyone in between, Hello Sunshine’s 2025 edition features a bumper lineup for the ages, including performances from Stone Temple Pilots, Smash Mouth, Wolfmother, Kasey Chambers, Rogue Traders, Drapht, an extra special Bluey live show and meet & greet, Lenny Pearce and Whistle & Trick.

Off the back of two successful years in Melbourne that saw over 10,000 punters each year soaking up live music, amusement park rides, markets and food stalls, next year’s Hello Sunshine edition will not only return to Victoria for a third time; it will also launch into Australia’s very own Sunshine State, with Hello Sunshine 2025 set to kick off at Caribbean Gardens in Melbourne on Saturday March 1, before heading up to the Gold Coast’s Broadwater Parklands on Saturday March 8.

Tickets for Hello Sunshine go onsale to the general public on Friday September 6 at 9am AEST from www.hellosunshinefest.com.au. Fans can register for presale tickets now from www.hellosunshinefest.com.au, with a 24 hour presale kicking off on Thursday September 5 at 9am AEST.

Rock royalty will descend on Melbourne and the Gold Coast in 2025, with legendary California rockers Stone Temple Pilots set to headline both Hello Sunshine events in March. Forming in the late 80s, STP catapulted to fame in 1992 following the release of their debut album Core, going on to be certified 8 x Platinum, snagging the quartet a Grammy Award for the monster hit Plush, and garnering the band the enviable status of being one of the most successful bands of the 90s. Now with eight studio albums in their wake, millions of sales and streams, countless global tours and a legacy for evolution, Stone Temple Pilots return to perform for Australian audiences for the first time in over two decades in 2025 as part of Hello Sunshine.

American rockers Smash Mouth are no strangers to adding sunny retro ska-soaked pop into their alt-rock earworms. First turning heads in 1997 via their infectious debut single Walkin’ on the Sun, Smash Mouth went on to smash headfirst into mainstream success with their 1999 sophomore album Astro Lounge, spawning one of their most iconic tracks All Star that has helped shaped multiple pop culture moments, from films through to TV sync and sporting events. Hailing from San Hose in California, Smash Mouth most recently released their eighth studio album, the Christmas-themed Missile Toes in 2023, and have toured extensively for the past few decades alongside everyone from Macklemore through to Spin Doctors, UB40 and Belinda Carlisle. “Australia has got to be one of the coolest places to play,” says Smash Mouth ahead of returning down under for Hello Sunshine in 2025. “The people there know how to party! We are so excited to head back to Australia to perform at the Hello Sunshine Festival in March. It’s going to be amazing. Summertime! Outdoor Festival! Australia! Yes Please!”

Iconic Australian hard rockers Wolfmother are no strangers to a festival setting, having performed at the likes of Big Day Out, Reading and Leeds and Lollapalooza over the years, and most recently completing a huge festival run in Europe and the UK. In 2025, they will once again grace Aussie festival stages as part of Hello Sunshine, bringing their brand of timeless rock’n’roll that has endured since the band’s inception in 2004. Helmed by Andrew Stockdale, Wolfmother has previously taken home a Grammy Award, as well as three ARIA Awards alongside additional nominations, toured relentlessly and consistently balanced modern and classic rock while proudly flying the flag for Australian music.

One of the country’s most beloved country music artists, Kasey Chambers never fails to enamour with her heartfelt lyricism and world-class artistry. In command of 14 ARIA Awards, Chambers was also inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame in 2018, making her the youngest female to ever receive the honour. Alongside an astonishing career that has also seen her reach #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart five times and find her performing both her own acclaimed headline shows as well as performances with Cold Chisel, Bernard Fanning and James Taylor along the way, Chambers also recently released a brand new single Backbone (The Desert Child), and is also set to release a new album Backbone on October 4 along with her brand new book Just Don’t Be A D**khead.

Blending pop and rock influenced electronic dance wizardry, Australia’s Rogue Traders changed the game in the early 2000s, generating several top 20 ARIA Singles Charts hits, with their dynamic breakout 2009 album Here Come the Drums gifting the smash single Voodoo Child that also generated international chart success and spawned a national headline tour. Releasing their first new music in over a decade in 2023 via the track To the Disco, Rogue Traders will dazzle Hello Sunshine crowds in 2025 with their infamously high octane live show. “The Hello Sunshine Festival this March is looking AMAZING – and we are so excited to have been asked to join the lineup!  Can’t wait to see everyone down the front!”

Renowned Perth hip hop artist Drapht has remained at the forefront of his genre since his early years spent as part of the Syllabolix crew as a teenager as well as the ultimate release of his 2003 debut album Pale Rider. A charismatic creative force, armed with two ARIA Awards and a legion of fans, Drapht has also gone on to collaborate with fellow Aussie icons Hilltop Hoods, Bliss N Eso and Kate Miller-Heidke, with his energetic live show continuously proving to be the stuff of legends. “I’m stoked to be on the Hello Sunshine line up in March! It will the first time doing all-ages shows in Melbourne and on The Goldy with my band, so we’re psyched to share the music with those who may not have heard the songs live yet! Cant wait!”

You don’t have to be a kid to love Bluey, aka the global Australian cartoon phenomenon that has captured hearts of all ages. Following the adventures of the loveable titular Blue Heeler puppy, the Emmy, Logie and AACTA Award-winning Bluey has gone on to resonate with parents and children alike, with 2025’s Hello Sunshine offering punters a chance to meet and interact with their favourite Bluey characters, and you can also take in an extra special live show that will get you up and dancing, playing games and so much more! This is not to be missed for young audiences – and the young at heart!

A multi-platinum and ARIA-nominated artist, Lenny Pearce has performed globally with high profile artists including Janet Jackson, One Direction and Pitbull, shifting from his roots as part of the performing group Justice Crew into a whole new era, armed with hip hop, house and grooving basslines. The twin brother of famed Purple Wiggle John Pearce, Lenny Pearce will be bringing all of the amazing vibes to Hello Sunshine next year. “I’m so keen to play at Hello Sunshine for all the families who party together,” shares Pearce. “2025 will be bigger and better than ever and I’m pumped for it. I’m a family man myself and this event is such a vibe it’s gonna be one not to miss! Bangers for all!”

Comprising childhood friends Esther Holt and Maddy Kelly, Whistle & Trick are one of Melbourne’s preeminent kids bands with the sole mission to sing, dance and cause a bit of mischief along the way. With clever and thoughtful music designed to spark imaginations, the duo’s 2023 debut album Bananas and Other Delicious Things also featured the likes of Memphis LK, Allday, Vika & Linda and Paul Kelly. “We are super excited to be playing at the Hello Sunshine festival coming up in Melbourne and the Gold Coast in March,” shares Whistle & Trick. “We are thrilled to be performing alongside some spectacular acts and cannot wait to dance and sing at this great family event.”

Nestled at the foot of the Dandenong Ranges, Caribbean Gardens in Melbourne’s east will once again play home to Hello Sunshine following its two consecutive events in 2023 and 2024. Fast becoming Victoria’s new favourite festival grounds, with the picturesque green space providing the ultimate playground, Caribbean Gardens also played host to Melbourne’s Listen Out festival in 2023. And located just north of the Gold Coast’s iconic summer playground Surfers Paradise, the Broadwater Parklands is a stunning outdoor location that includes rockpools, a swimming enclosure and spaces for a plethora of fun activities for the whole family, and will host Hello Sunshine for the first time in 2025. The Parklands also recently played home to a variety of high-profile music events, including Pandemonium Festival, Lookout 2024, Queens of the Stone Age and more.

Tickets for Hello Sunshine go onsale to the general public on Friday September 6 at 9am AEST from www.hellosunshinefest.com.au.

Legendary Californian rock royalty, Stone Temple Pilots have today announced their long-awaited return to Australian shores this February/March to celebrate the 30th anniversary of ‘Purple‘, the group’s chart-topping, multi-platinum sophomore album. To honour the impressive milestone, they’ll be performing this iconic album in its entirety at each show.

Kicking off at ICC Sydney Theatre on February 28, the tour will then move through Melbourne (headlining Hello Sunshine Festival), Adelaide, Newcastle, and Brisbane, before finishing up on the Gold Coast (Hello Sunshine Festival), with Aussie rock stalwarts, Wolfmother jumping in on the national run of shows to warm audiences up with their myriad of hits.

Tickets go on sale Friday 6 September at 9AM (AEST), for all information, visit www.teamwrktouring.com.

Released on June 7, 1994, Purple was the highly anticipated follow-up to Stone Temple Pilots’ 1992 debut, Core, which sold over eight million copies and earned a GRAMMY Award. The album debuted at number 1 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart and quickly became a fan favourite, selling over six million copies. Purple features some of the group’s most beloved tracks, including Interstate Love Song and Vasoline, which topped the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart. It also includes Big Empty, a song that first appeared on the film soundtrack for The Crow. The song was a massive Top 10 hit on mainstream and modern rock charts and won the MTV Movie Award for Best Song in a Movie.

After the massive success of their North American Jubilee Tour, the band is excited to continue the celebration with their Aussie fans. As part of the run, Stone Temple Pilots will headline Australia’s fastest growing outdoor music festival, Hello Sunshine Festival in Melbourne and Gold Coast, with one-off side show performances in Sydney, Adelaide, Newcastle, and Brisbane.

Sydney Festival new opera celebrating Las Vegas’ Siegfried & Roy

by the partae September 3, 2024
written by the partae
Siegfried & Roy: The Unauthorised Opera

Sydney Festival is excited to announce the first major production of its 2025 program: a captivating new chamber opera inspired by the extraordinary lives of Siegfried Fischbacher and Roy Horn, the legendary Las Vegas duo who became one of the hottest magic acts in entertainment history.

This unique production will be a centrepiece of the 2025 Festival, seamlessly blending powerful vocals, live magic and spectacular theatricality to bring the remarkable story of Siegfried and Roy to life. It captures their improbable rise to stardom and the tender vulnerability at the heart of their journey, co-written by New York trained composer-librettist Luke Di Somma (The Unruly Tourist, New Zealand Opera) co-written and directed by Constantine Costi, following his acclaimed production of Puccini’s Il Tabarro at Sydney Festival 2024.

Olivia Ansell, Festival Director, shared her enthusiasm, stating: “Sydney Festival is known for commissioning big, bold ideas by Australian creatives. This scintillating chamber opera by maverick writers Luke Di Somma and Con Costi chronicles the rags-to-riches journey of Siegfried and Roy, who, at their pre-millennium peak, achieved unprecedented popularity, becoming one of the highest grossing illusion acts in Las Vegas. Staged in our dedicated cabaret room at the Festival’s latest precinct – The Thirsty Mile, I’m certain this wickedly entertaining and larger than life spectacle will resonate with both seasoned opera enthusiasts and those new to the artform.”

Luke and Con, the creative forces behind the production, said: “We are so excited to be bringing Siegfried & Roy: The Unauthorised Opera to Sydney Festival this January. From the rags of post-war Germany to the riches of Las Vegas, Siegfried and Roy’s unlikely story is perfect fodder for a contemporary operatic comedy. Audiences can expect a show that is both funny and tragic, packed with great tunes sung by some of the best voices in the country. We can’t wait!”

From their humble beginnings in poverty-stricken Bremen to their rise as one of the longest running magic acts in Las Vegas (1967-2003), Siegfried and Roy’s story is one of wonder and deep companionship.

Taking on the role of Roy is Kanen Breen, one of Australia’s leading operatic tenors, who has starred in major roles including Camille in The Merry Widow, Monostatos in The Magic Flute, and most recently, Polonius in Opera Australia’s outstanding production of Hamlet by Brett Dean and Matthew Jocelyn. He is joined by Christopher Tonkin as Siegfried, an acclaimed Australian baritone with international recognition for roles such as Marcello in La Bohème and Chou En-lai in Nixon in China. Tonkin has performed in over 30 roles, including a six-year residency as principal baritone at Staatsoper Hannover, Germany.

The cast also features some of the country’s brightest talents; Cathy-Di Zhang, Louis Hurley, Simon Lobelson and Russell Harcourt.

This production is a fascinating take on their extraordinary journey. It highlights their unbreakable and often co-dependent bond as best friends and creative partners and includes the presence of their beloved tiger, Mantacore. This brand-new Australian production captures the splendour and grandeur of their remarkable lives.

Siegfried & Roy: The Unauthorised Opera will run from 8–25 January 2025, at Sydney Theatre Company, Wharf 1 Theatre (The Thirsty Mile), Walsh Bay, Sydney.

Tickets go on sale Tuesday 3 September 2024. For more information, visit: sydneyfestival.org.au
