SKIIFALL Shares new single & video ‘Bloodclarrt Business’ Out now via XL Recordings

by the partae February 10, 2022
written by the partae

Praise for Skiifall

“A distinctive global presence” – Alternative Press

“delicate, crackling loops, hard-hitting 808s, unflappable vocal tones, wizened songwriting, and a seamless fusion of English and patois lyrics.” – Complex

“a beacon of hope in Canada’s music scene.” – Hotnewhiphop

“uncanny ability to fuse Black music from around the world into a vibrant new style of rap music.”  – The FADER

Montreal-based, St. Vincent-born artist Skiifall shares a new single ‘Bloodclarrt Business’ via XL Recordings / Remote Control. The song arrives alongside a Guillaume Landry-directed video that shows Skiifall performing the track over a series of greyscaled scenes where he’s joined by close affiliates in his hometown neighbourhood and was also debuted with a live version on A COLORS SHOW earlier this month. The Yama//Soto and Joseph L’etranger-produced single follows Skiifall’s debut EP WOIIYOIE TAPES Vol. 1 released last summer including songs ‘My Gully,’ and ‘Bagga Yute,’ continuing the emerging artist’s catalog that has explored various global sounds. Next month, Skiifall will be hitting the road with Canadian jazz ensemble BADBADNOTGOOD for their North American Talk Memory tour dates following their recent collaboration ‘Break of Dawn.’

With his 2020 debut single ‘Ting Tun Up,’ a track that The FADER called “one great debut single,” Skiifall firmly marked his place on the global music stage. He followed that single up with ‘Ting Tun Up, Pt. II’ which The FADER named the second best song of 2021, and ‘Bentayga Dust,’ dealing with the duality between peace and discord to put the potency in Skiifall’s singular style on display.

Skiifall is rapidly consolidating his reputation as one of global hip hop’s most disruptive burgeoning forces. As inspired by the bashment of his St. Vincent homeland as he is the postmodern Atlanta icon Young Thug, Skiifall’s multifaceted output is representative of a musical DNA that crosses cultural boundaries. Listen to ‘Bloodclarrt Business’ and stay tuned for more from Skiifall coming soon.

BODY TYPE RETURN WITH ‘SEX & RAGE’ + ANNOUNCE DEBUT ALBUM + SIGNING TO POISON CITY RECORDS EVERYTHING IS DANGEROUS BUT NOTHING’S SURPRISING LP OUT MAY 20 VIA POISON CITY RECORDS

by the partae February 10, 2022
written by the partae

Today Body Type drop their first new music in three years, ‘Sex & Rage‘ with the reveal of their debut album, Everything Is Dangerous But Nothing’s Surprising, out May 20 via Poison City Records. LISTEN + WATCH ‘SEX & RAGE’ HERE.

Rife with frisky guitars and skittish percussion that soars into the chorus, ‘Sex & Rage‘ is a corrosive display of extremes. The doggerel of desire, angst, and euphoria set alight with a rousing plea for exuberance and exhilaration in the face of banality and boredom. Moulding the feel-good indie prowess that saw the band fast rise, ‘Sex & Rage‘ ushers in a new era of Body Type. A ragged rock-punk hybrid, savagely unapologetic in intent and delivery.

Speaking to the release, vocalist Sophie shares “‘Sex & Rage’ is a reflection on finding passion amidst feverish banality. When you are uninspired, when you feel sad that the general public would rather look at their phone screens than what’s hanging on the walls of the Louvre; when lovers leave you just like they always do and everything feels like a cliché – remember the feelings that set you aflame, and the things that make those feelings happen. For me, it’s Body Type and cryptic crosswords.”

Named after and dedicated to writer Eve Babitz‘s cult novel, ‘Sex & Rage‘ is a culmination of the world that Body Type will birth on Everything Is Dangerous But Nothing’s Surprising. In the wake of back-to-back tours and releases, Sophie McComish, Annabel Blackman, Cecil Coleman, and Georgia Wilkinson-Derums regrouped in early 2020, to record their debut album eight days – shortly before they would become separated by the pandemic.

With the release Body Type reconvene their collaborative relationship with music video director Madeline Purdy. Speaking to the visual elements, she reveals “We wanted to show an overabundance of unorthodox, freakish human beauty, but have it stop before total chaos. The strict confines of an audition room setting tinged every character with an inherent yearning to be liked by their audience. The clip had to show that sex and rage are inherent in every human being, but create different characters of us all. Despite that, we’re all on the same stage, singing the same song.”

Like Babitz’s prose, the album is exultant, effusive, playful, cutting, and maybe most significantly, incandescent in its fury. It’s an album all about yanking back control, embracing abandon and purging despair, told through the grizzly margins of rock and punk. Recorded and mastered by Jonathan Boulet, and entirely self-funded, the album sounds joyfully anarchic, bursting with life and autonomy.

Andrew Hayden, the owner of record store and label Poison City Records, is thrilled to announce the news of the band’s signing. He shares, “We fell in love with Body Type after coming across their early EPs a while back – the tracks ’Stingray’ and ‘Palms’ felt especially infectious and exciting, so obviously we’re delighted to be working with Body Type on their debut album this year! Body Type’s attitude and approach to the wide world of independent music is a great fit for Poison City and musically we hear a magical blend of soulful indie-rock and fierce angular-pop that feels urgent and relevant to these modern times.”

Since first forming in 2016, Body Type have shared acclaimed EPs, EP1 and EP2 to global fever and critical acclaim from DIY, NME, Dork, The Line Of Best Fit, The FADER, Stereogum, KEXP, Apple Music’s Matt Wilkinson, BBC Radio 1’s Jack Saunders, triple j’s Declan Byrne and many more. In between support stages with Fontaines D.C., Big Thief, Cate Le Bon, POND, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Frankie Cosmos, Rolling Blackouts Coast Fever and more, the group have also performed across SXSW, The Great Escape, and headline tours in the US and UK, including a recorded session at the BBC‘s Maida Vale studios.

NFT Melbourne

by the partae February 9, 2022
written by the partae

What is your name and role within NFT Melbourne:

Theo Kanellopoulos, Co-Founder

For those that are new to this concept, please tell us what NFT is all about:

NFT STANDS FOR NON-FUNGIBLE-TOKEN, AND IN ITS MOST BASIC FORM IS DIGITAL PROOF OF OWNERSHIP THAT IS IRREFUTABLE. THE PROOF OF OWNERSHIP AND ITS HISTORY LIVE ON A PUBLIC LEDGER CALLED A BLOCKCHAIN, WHERE IT CANNOT BE ALTERED, AND ANYONE CAN VIEW IT.

NFT Melbourne will be launching on February 23 at 170 Russell in Melbourne CBD, what can people expect from the event?

We have created NFT MELBOURNE as a way for our city to make its mark as a serious player in the global NFT space and provide a place for everyone to learn, network and lift each other up. The event will be a safe space for people to come and learn about NFTs if they are starting on their journey or come and listen to thought leadership if they are further advanced. We will have many activations that will exhibit digital and physical art as well as areas for people to network with others who are like minded and eager to learn more plus a very special guest live performance too.

Please tell us about the collaboration with Tennis Australia which included Steve Aoki, Masked Wolf and Tigerlily:

We had been in discussion with Ridley Plummer at Tennis Australia about presenting at NFT Melbourne and he invited some of the Lucky Ent. artists to perform in the metaverse for the closing party. We loved the idea as a way to collaborate with those in the space and the artists jumped right on it too.  We were lucky enough to secure international DJ Steve Aoki as well as Masked Wolf and Tigerlily.

Who will be guest speaking and what topics will be covered?

We have about a dozen speakers covering topics such as:

Fireside chat – How Web3 is impacting events and experiences. AO Art Ball use case – Matty AKA DCLBlogger, Ridley Plummer, Louie (Run it wild)

Panel – Marketing in Web3 – Geoff Measey and Greg Oakford

Panel – Aussie project spotlight

Panel – Navigating NFTs as a creative – Danielle Weber who is an exceptional artist

What do you think the future of NFT is and how will it be of a benefit to artists, brands and the public as a whole

Most of what is possible has not yet been thought of but NFTs are already helping artists, bands and the general public by creating a greater connection through a number of ways such as ownership, access, experiences and community while ensuring artists are getting a fair source of revenue directly from their fans and community.

What else does Lucky NFT have planned for 2022 and beyond?

We are speaking to many brands, artists and celebrities about how we can help them enter Web 3 and are planning to scale NFT events across Australia and NZ in the next 12 months.

Dana Gehrman Returns With Smouldering Rendition Of Blues-Rock Single ‘Perfect Imperfection’

by the partae February 9, 2022
written by the partae

Previous Support for Dana Gehrman

Carol Lloyd Award Finalist (2020)

‘Find A Way’ #5 on AMRAP Regional Charts (2018)

“Perfect road trip music, with a vintage 70s sound that evokes rich nostalgia…an immense talent with an ability to effortlessly cross genres.” (Sounds of Oz)

“This has that sweet Stevie Wonder funk meets rockin’ blues vibe about it. At the same time, it feels really coastal and jammy.” (Nkechi Anele, Triple J)

“Dana’s songs are infectiously groovy and well-written. Her guitar tone is rich and so is her voice, smooth and older than her years.” (theMusic)

“Aside from being an adept guitarist and soulful vocalist Dana Gehrman proves to be a songwriter of substance with an authentic and relatable voice.” (Lisa Ditterich, 4ZZZ)

“Gehrman rewinds the clock to the golden age of groove-laden funk and emotive soul music.” (Aldora Britain Records)

Reaching through the decades to deliver vintage blues-rock seeped in stirring soul and groove-laden funk, Brisbane guitar-slinging songstress Dana Gehrman is making her eagerly-awaited return with a seductive rendition of 1979 Little Feat single ‘Perfect Imperfection’ (out Feb 4).

Since the release of genre-defying debut album ‘Find A Way’ in 2019, Dana Gehrman has enjoyed a busy couple of years, named as a Queensland Music Awards Finalist (2019), a Carol Lloyd Award Finalist (2020) and just recently opening for The Teskey Brothers’ huge Brisbane show.

Now, Dana Gerhman is paying homage to American blues-rock band Little Feat, bringing her unique style, effortless sophistication and smooth vintage charm to nostalgic single ‘Perfect Imperfection’, for a smouldering female perspective able to transcend time.

Counted in by the brushed strokes of refined jazz percussion, the instantaneous seduction of entwined guitar and electric piano melodies are intensified by the distinctive smoky timbres of Dana Gehrman’s luxurious voice. Confident, calm and collected, the track moves with a velveteen grace, joined by the pull of sumptuous bass and humming organ notes, with the old-school rock magnetism of an electric guitar solo taking centre stage. Gehrman’s rich vocals return, commanding in their power as they break through each chorus with a growing intensity, perfectly encapsulating the song’s expectations with their fearless delivery.

Lyrically, ‘Perfect Imperfection’ acts as a reminder to embrace what life and love might throw your way, whilst not becoming entangled in idea of perfection – advice that remains relevant all of these years later, as Gehrman explains:

“Life and love, neither are easy… when something or someone good comes along, be open to the beauty in it and embrace it. It’s a good reminder that nothing is perfect.”

Gehrman continues to explain why she chose to cover this track:

“I can’t remember Little Feat ever not being a part of my life. Their music is ingrained in me and has been incredibly influential throughout my own musical journey.  Their music is my happy place. I’m constantly amazed at how many folk aren’t acquainted with them, but it’s one of those “if you know, you know” situations…I don’t think you could improve on Little Feat’s music; this is just my humble interpretation of a song from my favourite Little Feat album, ‘Down On the Farm’”

Dana Gehrman’s previous releases have seen support from Sounds of Oz, theMusic, Scenestr, Around The Sound, Blank Street Press, Tone Deaf, Triple J, Triple J Unearthed, AMRAP, 4ZZZ and more.

Smooth, stylish and sophisticated, Dana Gehrman’s smoking rendition of 1979 Little Feat single ‘Perfect Imperfection’ is out on February 4.

Introducing..Colletto Bianco (Solo Artist Arrival Of Joel from Endless Heights). The Thrilling & Dramatic New Single ‘Choke’ Is Out Now

by the partae February 8, 2022
written by the partae

THE THRILLING & DRAMATIC NEW SINGLE, CHOKE
IS OUT NOW

Colletto Bianco is an uncompromisingly bold, film noir villain cinematic affair.

Colletto Bianco is the solo artist arrival of frontman Joel Martorana from Sydney based rock outfit, Endless Heights. With three critically acclaimed releases, triple j high rotation success, sold-out headline tours and touring with artists such as Taking Back Sunday, The Amity Affliction, The Story So Far and Basement – their live show quickly became a rite of passage in Australian alternative music.

On the back of ten years of international touring in the world of rock and roll, Joel debuts into the pop realm under Colletto Bianco.

Today, Colletto Bianco reveals it’s first masterpiece, Choke.

“Choke is a torturous dance between desire and fear. One’s overwhelming fear of self being hidden behind a veil of chaos, passion and lust. The debut single from Colletto Bianco exposes the impulse to indulge and distract instead of listening to your own conscience – using pleasure as a distraction to shy away from what is in front of you.” explains Joel Martorana.

The single is accompanied by a music video that is a true cinematic introduction to the thrilling, dramatic and tragic character project that is Colletto Bianco.

“Choke gives a brief insight into the daily life of this proud, chauvinistic and bold fool. Watching Colletto build credibility with his dons and (poorly) juggling a hidden second life from his beloved family who are eventually brought into his mess.”

The independently released music video is a shared passion project of immensely talented cast and crew which consists of director Mikey Hamer (The Jezabels), director of photography Jack Shepherd (Lime Cordiale),executive producer Chris Elder / Haus Party (Peking Duck) and produced by Joel Martorana himself.

The short film also features appearances from Joel’s real Sicilian family including his grandparents, father, brother and cousins.

LISTEN/STREAM CHOKE HERE
Colletto Bianco defies genre boundaries in an intimately familiar way, while being bold as brass. Challenging passé notions of masculinity, identity, mental health and self growth while exploring the influence of his Sicilian roots.

Colletto Bianco is Italian for ‘White Collar’ – an ode to his heritage and a piss-take on his own sense of self, juggling a life of creativity with the corporate world.

Colletto Bianco will seduce you toward an opulent film noir style cabaret nestled underground in a secluded golden age clique. Swirling with dark pop, emo jazz and dirty martinis.

Stay tuned for more Colletto Bianco news soon…

DJ and designer Soju Gang (Gunai/Kurnai, Yorta Yorta and Wiradjuri) and Footscray Community Arts are excited to announce the delicious line-up for Live at the Bowl’s SorBaes: Double Dip! on Sunday 13 March.

The 2021 event saw some of the most exciting acts of Naarm come together in one massive mini festival. This March, they’re doing it all again, but with a bigger serving!

“SorBaes: Double Dip! is about bringing together and celebrating not only Melbourne’s, but Australia’s diverse, genre-evolving music scene. There’s so many different spaces that thrive and co-exist here that everyone may not know about – so I feel like SorBaes is an opportunity for me to pull back the curtain and share that with everyone: the beauty of opening yourself up to new sounds and vibrations, and even more, the importance of supporting our local talent here,” said Soju Gang.
Performing live at the all ages event this year are Barkaa + Baro Sura + Jerome Farah + Kira Puru + Lay + Mulalo + Young Rorty + DJs Mirasia + Smilez + Soju Gang + Swerv.

“Footscray Community Arts’ mission is all about creating greater representation for artists who have been historically excluded from mainstream arts and culture. By collaborating with Arts Centre Melbourne on SorBaes: Double Dip!, we are helping profile some of Australia’s best musicians in an accessible event for music lovers of all ages,” said Footscray Community Arts Artistic Director and Co-CEO Daniel Santangeli.

Along with music to make you melt, food trucks, curated art spaces and market stalls will be on site to add to your SorBaes experience.

“SorBaes: Double Dip! provides a space for audiences to connect with the next generation of musicians, artists, DJs and performers. This is an important opportunity for artists after a year or two of lost gigs. Soju Gang has curated a stacked line-up that is bound to remind punters here in Melbourne why we are known for hyping incredible musical talent. Come down and support local acts!” said Footscray Community Arts Music Producer Paul Gorrie.

Tickets are on sale now for $15 (including booking fee) with $2 from every ticket sold being donated by Arts Centre Melbourne to The Dhadjowa Foundation. Founded by Apryl Day, daughter of the late Aunty Tanya Day, The Dhadjowa Foundation is an organisation that supports and amplifies the voices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families whose loved ones have died in custody. The Dhadjowa Foundation is currently auspiced by Ngarrimili Ltd, a Deductible Gift Recipients (DGR) charity which can receive donations that are tax deductible.

Footscray Community Arts is an independent creative precinct in Melbourne’s West; a space for contemporary art, conversations and community. It’s a place where artists are empowered, and audiences connect through creative experiences. Our vibrant annual program includes performances, exhibitions, workshops, talks and festivals, and is led by artists with bold ideas. Through art, Footscray Community Arts advocates for change and a new perspective on Australia’s collective identity.

Live at the Bowl is an open-air performance series at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl running from January – April 2022. From home-grown favourites to international acts, audiences can enjoy a stunning program of music, dance, circus, community-led and family-friendly events right in the middle of Melbourne. Created by Arts Centre Melbourne, Live at the Bowl aims to bring joy to audiences and invigorate the creative sector. As we emerge from yet another year of closure, the second series is a significant moment for live performance.

Wanderers

by the partae February 8, 2022
written by the partae

Where are you currently based?

We are all currently based in Adelaide, South Australia

How did Wanderers form?

We formed on stage during a jam night at the ‘Grace Emily Hotel’ in Adelaide. After improvising our way through a couple of Dusty’s songs a few weeks in a row we decided to make a record and give ourselves a name. It flowed pretty organically as we launched onto the local scene and it all grew from there.

What’s been happening recently?

Both Dusty and I got Covid, so that was fun haha, and we just released an EP! So that has been a big part of our lives recently.

Your self titled EP is out now, what influenced the sound and songwriting?

There’s many many musical influences that come from all of the guys. We all listen to a lot of different types of music and play a lot of different music individually, but we always come together and create our unique sound.  We are always sending each other different songs or records.

How did you go about writing the EP?

The process with Wanderers is that the songs are generally written to a certain point where they have solid outlines, then do the colouring in with the guys in the rehearsal room. This is usually when the bridge sections are written and the arrangements are refined. It also helps complete lyrics this way, sometimes improvising them over the top of the band as we refine the songs.

Some of them were written while we were away on a tour in a hotel room with an acoustic guitar or little battery powered keyboard.

Where and when did you record/produce/master and who with?

It was a very spread out process. Some of the tracks were written over 2 years ago, and also recorded long ago. But some in the most recent times while in Covid. We have a great recording studio here in Adelaide called Wundenbergs, So we pretty much always record most of the songs there. I also got my own little studio where we did lots of the keyboard parts and vocals. Molly was mixed by a great guy here in Australia Jackson Barclay, he pretty much mixed all our music up until the point of this EP. Make It On My Own was mixed by a Melbourne engineer called Julian Schweitzer. The rest of the tracks were mixed by Keith Jeffery from a band called Atlas Genius. All mastered by Joe La’Porta at Sterling Sound In NYC.

You’ll be touring in April/May where are you headed and what do you have planned?

We have a little trip to the USA for SXSW just before the Australia tour. We are headed to Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and of course, a big show at home in Adelaide.

Hopefully these will be some of our best shows. Some bigger venues and better production than our previous shows. Also, maybe a taste of some new songs!

Who are you listening to at the moment?

It’s all pretty random but lots of RnB style music at the moment :

Silk Sonic

Anderson .Paak

John Mayer’s new stuff

Also been loving Yebba lately

What do you like to do away from music?

Music is pretty much central to all that we do!

What’s in store for 2022?

Lots of new music and hopefully plenty for shows and touring in Australia and overseas.

Favourite food and place to hangout?

Favourite place to hang would still be where the band was formed, The Grace Emily Hotel. And definitely can’t go wrong with late night Chinese food.

POLARIS SUMMER TOUR UPDATE! ALPHA WOLF REPLACE MAKE THEM SUFFER ON UPCOMING SUMMER TOUR TOUR DATES HAVE BEEN POSTPONED TO MAY IN WA, SA & NSW DUE TO ON-GOING COVID RESTRICTIONS

by the partae February 8, 2022
written by the partae

Sydney metalcore titans Polaris are packing their bags and heading back on the road in February, March & May with some great friends in tow. The Summer Tour will see them hitting all national cities with very special guests Alpha Wolf, Justice For The Damned and Mirrors.

Make Them Suffer sadly have to withdraw from the Summer Tour due to WA borders still remaining closed. They have been replaced by Alpha Wolf. The Summer Tour dates have been postponed to May in WA, SA and NSW due to the on-going COVID restrictions in those states. All updated tour dates are below.

In 2021, The Death Of Me was an ARIA-nominated, #3 ARIA Album chart debut record which had glowing reviews from critics and fans and saw Polaris sell-out the biggest national headline tour of their career.

It’s been an incredible ride for Polaris with countless sold-out headline tours of Australia, as well as supporting Architects and Parkway Drive around the country; five runs throughout Europe (including a series of arena shows supporting Architects and a slew of high-profile summer festival spots); three separate US tours; not to mention performing at the Download Festival plus Unify Gathering in Australia and most recently headlining Knight & Day Festival.

To become the head of the pack, it takes heart and determination. Over the last 24 months, Melbourne metalcore juggernauts Alpha Wolf have proven they have all in abundance. 2020 saw the release of their sophomore album ‘a quiet place to die’, that landed #6 on the ARIA charts and a nomination for Best Heavy Album at the ARIA awards. Through all the chaos these last few years have been able to throw at the band, they’ve still managed to play multiple headline runs of sold out shows, secured places on some of the biggest festivals in Australia, and set to embrak on their takeover of America in March.

Justice For The Damned have come a long way since their early days at Blacktown Masonic in Western Sydney, methodically planning their path, honing their craft with two ground breaking albums, touring relentlessly across the globe and supporting some of leading artists in the game such as Parkway Drive, Killswitch Engage, Thy Art Is Murder and Knocked Loose. Remember these words, Justice is forever!

Opening the bill, will be Gippsland’s finest in Mirrors, who have gone from strength to strength since the release of their 2019 EP, Cold Sanctuary. Landing festival slots such as Knight and Day Festival, Unify Gathering to supporting international household names such as Wage War, Crystal Lake, The Devil Wears Prada and most recently inking a massive deal with Australia’s leading heavy label Resist Records.

Polaris always delivers and the Summer tour will be no different, so don’t miss out on what promises to be the metalcore tour of the year!

Missed out on Splendour tickets? Don’t worry, Secret Sounds has got your back! Splendour’s Official Sideshows of 2022 are finally here and set to roll into venues around the country this July!

This monster pile of tours is the biggest Official Sideshow announcement in the history of Splendour, so be sure to hold your hat as you get your head around this one…

The plethora of headline dates includes much anticipated performances from bonafide rock’n’roll star and living legend Liam Gallagher and GRAMMY Nominated indie rock royalty Yeah Yeah Yeahs, alongside the pulsating sounds of pioneering UK producer and DJ Duke Dumont and the nimble wordplay and unpredictable rhyme patterns of one of the hottest acts in the world right now Jack Harlow.

Australia’s fave Yorkshire born singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist YUNGBLUD will take his larrikin good vibes on tour, while British duo Jungle perform their life-affirming, dancefloor-igniting, sun-kissed new album. Mura Masa will show us why he’s won a GRAMMY, been shortlisted for an Ivor and made it onto Forbes’ 30 under 30 as Manchester’s most promising, Aitch will bring all his infectious energy and unrivalled flow.

Fiercely DIY and defiantly uncategorisable Tom Misch will take his loose, mellifluous sound on tour, while ever entertaining and versatile vocalist, producer, writer, director and performance artist Oliver Tree will bring his music to life for fans. Country recording artist Orville Peck will captivate with his deep baritone, strong musicianship and sincere storytelling as Dillon Francis ignites venues with his vibrant dance tracks and electrifying cuts, as rising superstar Tierra Whack unleashes her flavourful wordplay and boundless creativity on Aussie crowds.

LA-based rapper and producer JPEGMAFIA will hit our shores hot off the back of his fourth full-length album and genre-defying duo Sofi Tukker will be bringing their uniting and empowering critically acclaimed set. Catch the alternative tunes of Still Woozy, made with his homespun mix of acoustic and electronic instruments, or Brit Awards’ Rising Star Holly Humberstone as she moves audiences with her inimitable brand of songwriting and visionary creativity.

Biig Piig will impress with her confessional and genre-fluid modern pop. Listen in awe as Joy Crookes showcases her timeless vocals and storytelling or get ready to groove with the chaotic alt-pop majesty of Wet Leg as they support Yeah Yeah Yeahs (stay tuned for more touring news from this euphoric duo coming soon). Be sure to witness the pop prowess and “don’t mess with us” all-girl gang glow of Hinds as they hit Aus, and prepare to be stunned when renforshort performs her reflective and snappy tracks.

We told you it was BIG! See below for the low down on dates and cities for each tour. Presale for all shows starts 9am local Friday 11 February – sign up here to get first dibs. General onsale kicks off at 9am local Monday 14 February.

The Wombats – This Car Drives All By Itself (Official Video)

This news comes hot off the back of the Liverpudlian trio reaching #32 in triple j’s Hottest 100 of 2021 with their infectious electro-pop track ‘If You Ever Leave, I’m Coming With You’, making them the third most featured artist (15 songs in total) on the countdown since its inception – only behind Kanye West and Tame Impala. The Wombats released their latest single ‘This Car Drives All By Itself’ alongside their new album Fix Yourself, Not The World in January. The record hit #1 in the UK and was #2 Album and #1 Vinyl Album on the ARIA Charts – continuing the band’s ever-growing love affair with Australia. We’re so ready to catch the album live when The Wombats hit our shores!

Since their inception in 2013, The VANNS have been crafting music that not only stirs up a melting pot of indie and alt-rock influences, but delivers a fresh, modern sound that has seen them fast become one of the most in demand young bands on Australia’s east coast. Their thriving, bold and creative dynamic has seen the Wollongong legends open for the likes of Catfish and the Bottlemen, Ocean Alley and Hippo Campus – now it’s time for them to add The Wombats to the list! That’s after they wrap up their own national headline tour throughout March and April.

There is nothing predictable about the remarkable rise of Jaguar Jonze. Her success stems from hard work and her pure creative vision, with singles ‘WHO DIED AND MADE YOU KING’ and ‘CUT’ the latest step in cementing her position in the cultural landscape. Jaguar Jonze has been the public artist voice of the Australian music industry’s #metoo movement, this advocacy has seen her receive the triple j Done Good Award, AIR Outstanding Achievement Award and named one of the 21 Most Inspiring Women of 2021 by Vogue Australia. Catch her impressive live show and see why this truly unique and iconic artist can’t be ignored when she plays with The Wombats in June.

So whaddaya waiting for? Tickets for The Wombats mammoth Aus shows are on sale now at secretsounds.com. Hop to it!

Diego Miranda and Mad M.A.C. Release Deep Progressive House Track “Moonlight,” Featuring Lucas Pretti. Out on Purple Fly’s Fly Over Records

by the partae February 6, 2022
written by the partae

Artists: Diego Miranda, MAD M.A.C. ft. Lucas Pretti
Title: Moonlight
Label: Fly Over Records
Download / Stream

After debuting its new imprint Fly Over Records with REGGIO‘s hard-hitting big-room house track “Fantasy” last month, NFT-backed label Purple Fly now welcomes Portugal‘s top DJ Diego Miranda and British/Greek duo Mad M.A.C. to their ranks with the new single “Moonlight,” featuring Brazilian singer/songwriter Lucas Pretti. The label keeps up their diverse repertoire with this groovy progressive gem, featuring soulful vocals and a deep, driving bassline that begs for late-night soirees. It’s a welcome addition to REGGIO‘s big-room release, setting up Fly Over to be positioned as a place for festival-oriented music and beyond. Although Fly Over serves as a space for growing artists, Diego Miranda has been making scenes in his native Portugal for over a decade. “Moonlight” is truly a global creation, with Diego joining forces with British/Greek duo MAD M.A.C., who earlier worked with the likes of Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Quintino, Yves V.

Purple Fly is an independent imprint utilizing cryptocurrency’s hottest frontier as a platform for the spectrum of electronic music, which previously released singles from the likes of Fatman Scoop, Shaquille O’Neal, DJ SODA, Ahin of MOMOLAND, BLVD., Laidback Luke, Sevenn, and more. Purple Fly‘s goal is to support collaborations of all forms of art, connecting music and stunning visuals for an immersive experience that spans the sonic realms of trance to trap. The label releases an NFT directly on its official website with each music drop, enabling artists to have access to direct support from their fan base while expressing their creativity. Diego Miranda has been voted as one of the DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs for 11 consecutive years, and in 2022 he will perform at Tomorrowland for the 5th time in a row. He’s also the only Portuguese DJ nominated by his homeland’s MTV as the Best Portuguese Artist 2 years in a row. He previously released on Smash The House, Revealed, Mixmash, Sony Music, and more.
