Jack River Shares New Single & Video ‘Dark Star’ + ‘Stranger Heart’ EP Out Fri 14 Feb

‘Later Flight’ was River’s first single following the deluxe reissue of her three-time ARIA-nominated, critically acclaimed debut LP Sugar Mountain in May 2019. The track premiered on triple j Breakfast before quickly becoming the #1 most played song and saw strong support from the likes of Spotify and Apple Music, leading to the track and video being streamed over half a million times since its release last October. Follow up piano ballad ‘Closer’ made a splash on streaming platforms with accompanying the stunning video getting picked up by MTV and Rage.

In the digital age, where inspiration can feel contrived and a search for authenticity often begins and ends with a hashtag, on Stranger Heart River has drawn a road map for an alternative way to feel and process. With this release, River set out to make music that sounds like a feeling and ‘Dark Star’ over delivers, transporting the listener back to their first unrequited love; a crushing state of both total euphoria and draining fixation.

Jack River recently played Grapevine Gathering in VIC, NSW and WA and is taking to the stage at Party In The Paddock next month.

In late December, as a holiday present to her fans, Jack River announced she was giving away a special acoustic performance to one lucky fan that wished to have her play at their wedding, party or event.
