Rising Australian singer-songwriter Jack Botts has returned with his most infectious single to date with the release of ‘18th Floor‘.
With his flair for flowing lyricism and memorable melodies on display more than ever, the single finds Botts digesting the highs and hurdles of a long distance relationship at the best of times, let alone during COVID.
Written and recorded while visiting his partner in Vancouver earlier this year, ’18th Floor’ is marked by vivid imagery of the extended time they had together as travel restrictions began to be enforced. With the inevitable flight home looming, the track emerged as a reminder that no matter how much time or distance might be between us and our loved ones, we’ll be OK.
“Trying to shine some light on a sticky situation, ‘18th Floor’ focuses on the exciting ‘things to come’ once reunited from being distant. Connecting again is definite. When, is uncertain,” Botts adds.
“‘18th Floor’ brings a little bit of hope to anyone doing it tough through distance with the ones you love. It reminisces on the good times that have been had, and the even better times to come.”
