Perth band The Money War has unveiled the video for new single ‘Hey Now’, lifting the covers off an “on the road” style clip which documents their global travels over the last 12 months.

The Money War’s Dylan Ollivierre and Carmen Pepper shot footage in an array of settings, including a bridge crossing at Cataract Gorge in Tasmania, local beach huts in Fremantle and Aussie Rules football on the beach in Perth, and combined with footage from their tour van criss-crossing Los Angles through Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas.  The band filmed and edited the entire clip themselves and are excited to share this visual diary of their journey.

‘Hey Now’ will appear on The Money War’s forthcoming debut album, set for release early in 2019.

Describing the song, lead singer Dylan Ollivierre, who also wrote and produced the track said, “The song is about making a commitment to someone and being ecstatic about it but also realising that you’re in a very different position to where you thought you’d be when you reached that milestone. Life usually takes a different course than you anticipated and doesn’t always match the set of ideals you once held. I like how the line ‘time is coming for us baby’ can be interpreted in different ways depending on how you look at it. It’s kind of a romantic yet bittersweet sentiment.”

“Hey Now” will appear on The Money War’s forthcoming debut album, set for release early in 2019, following the band’s successful gigs in the USA and widespread radio coverage throughout the States.

Explaining the sentiment behind “Hey Now”, Carmen Pepper said, “The song is about getting married, being ecstatic about it but also realising that you’re in a very different position to where you thought you’d be when you reached that milestone. It seems life usually takes a different course than what you anticipated when you were younger and held a set of ideals. I like how the idea of “time is coming for us” can be interpreted in different ways depending on how you look at it. It’s kind of a bittersweet sentiment.”

After being unearthed by triple j, The Money War (Carmen Pepper and Dylan Ollivierre) dropped the outstanding single ‘Recall’, from their debut EP.  It became the fifth most played song of 2017 on triple j, helping the band grow their fan base in Australia and subsequently opening doors in the US. They received praise from their peers, including Neil Finn who expressed his admiration for their songwriting after seeing them support him prior to heading to Austin, Texas to showcase at South by Southwest.

To complete a busy year on the road touring, The Money War announces more end of year dates including a performance at The Festival of the Sun in Port Macquarie.

The band recently completed a tour with Holy Holy and are currently on the road touring with Meg Mac, playing to thousands of people across 25 sold out shows. Prior to hitting the road with Meg they wrote and produced a glorious new single ‘Hold On’.

 The Money War’s latest single ‘Right Kind Of Love’ is released today, coinciding with their national tour supporting Holy Holy.

It’s a brand new track taken from their forthcoming second EP, quickly following on from the band’s debut self-titled EP, which featured the track ‘Recall’.

Dylan Ollivierre says, “There are so many horrible things happening in the world every day, it’s hard not to be overwhelmed. This song is about focusing on something that is worth being celebrated – something that is pure”.
