I’m Jon Middleton and I’m the singer/songwriter and guitar player.
How did you start?
We started as a band after Roy and I met in University in Victoria, BC, Canada. Beginning with open mics, we slowly graduated on up the musical venue food chain.
Where are you based?
We are still based out of Victoria, B.C., Canada.
Please give an example of your music writing process?
I usually come up with a general outline of a song, or an idea or riff, and then Roy and I will jam on it until it becomes something we can both wrap our heads around and dig. Sometimes this happens pretty quickly, other times it takes months to settle into something we like.

What are you working on right now?
Right now, just working on new songs.
What is your gear setup?
Pretty simple, I play a 1990 Larivee acoustic guitar and a L4 Gibson through a fender deluxe reverb. I only have 3 pedals, and the only one that’s really integral is the Ibanez analog delay, it’s a great pedal.

What do you like to do outside of music and does it affect your music?
Lots of outdoor things; hiking, bike-riding, etc. Spending a lot of time in nature definitely evens out your perspective on life. It lends itself to the mellow nature of a lot of our music.
How would you describe your music genre?
Roots/folk.
Do you know any music theory?
Very little, I tried to learn some at one time so I could better play piano. But I soon lost interest. Would love to give it a go again tho’.
What are your plans for the future?
Keep making music, record more and get out into the world with it.
How did you get into music?
A natural affinity, I suppose. We used to do a lot camping in the mountains with my family, and my dad would always play folk songs fireside. That definitely sparked something within me. Once I heard Nirvana I was addicted.
