Leeds band jellyskin have released their fifth track: Only Rain (Flows to Beach).
jellyskin are based in Leeds and have been doing shows regularly since September, supporting artists such as LA psych outfit Cosmonauts, and Will Joseph Cook. Recently, they played their biggest gig to date, opening for The Moonlandingz (with Goat Girl) on the main stage of The Leadmill in Sheffield, a sold-out show.
Next week through until mid-June they are embarking on a mini-tour, playing Unfest at The Forum (Tunbridge Wells), Headrow House (Leeds), Night and Day Café (Manchester), The Washington (Sheffield) and Temple of Boom (Leeds).
At these shows, they will also have copies of their debut EP – their first physical release – which will be available to buy in person or online.
The song is hard to define – it’s a song that warps and changes when you least expect it. Starting as a dreamy, dark pop song, it shifts into a growly drone section, a little bit Suuns-esque, then segues into a triumphant final phase, complete with ethereal harmonies, a snarling sexy guitar line, lush synth lines, and vital drums.
