FLEET FOXES ANNOUNCE TOUR DATES FOR 2018 INCLUDING NEW HEADLINE SHOWS IN ADDITION TO STOPS AT COACHELLA, SHAKY KNEES & BOSTON CALLING

FULL TOUR INCLUDES TWO NIGHTS AT LEGENDARY RYMAN AUDITORIUM IN NASHVILLE CRACK-UP OUT NOW ON NONESUCH RECORDS

Fleet Foxes have announced additional headline and festival dates to their previously announced 2018 tour, including stops at Coachella in Indio, California;, Boston Calling in Allston, Massachusetts; and Shaky Knees in Atlanta, Georgia. The band’s full, thirty-nine-city international tour (schedule below, new dates in bold) routes through the southern part of the US and features a two-night return to Nashville’s legendary Ryman Auditorium. These dates follow an eventful 2017, including sold-out shows at Red Rocks Amphitheatre and the Hollywood Bowl, which Billboard called a “triumphant return.” While on the road, Fleet Foxes made two appearances on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert , performing “Third of May” and then “Fool’s Errand” as well as a full session at CBS This Morning. Additionally, the band offers an inside look at their touring experience, behind–and on–stage, with special guests The Westerlies, in a video by Sean Pecknold that can be seen here.

Fleet Foxes released their latest album Crack-Up on June 16, 2017 via Nonesuch Records, following a six-year hiatus. The band earned international praise for what the New York Times called ”a defiant artistic statement, an album that dares to feel important.”” The album also received widespread recognition in year-end music coverage, including lists by Esquire, Consequence of Sound, Paste,Uproxx, Vulture, among other.

“On Saturday night at the Hollywood Bowl, Robin Pecknold was as powerful as any performer who’s ever played the Bowl’s stage. He was a flash of folk and light and feeling. He was gentleness masked in fury, or maybe the other way around. Whichever it is, he sure as hell won’t say.” – Uproxx

“Triumphant Return… Despite the large venue, Pecknold’s vocals were able to reach those in the far back, highlighted by the band’s impressive musicianship… It all coalesced to create a rich, ethereal setting.” – Billboard

“The culmination of a two-hour high-wire act full of intricate, often breathtaking music. Judging by the flushed, smiling faces of the faithful as they file questly out, one that’s been worth the six-year wait.” -Q Magazine

“The show felt like it had disregarded the laws of physics, with each perfect transition between songs threading time together, making you feel like there was no such thing as an end.” – Seattle Weekly

“They brought with them everything fans love about Fleet Foxes: layered harmonies shepherded by Robin Pecknold’s still-incredible voice, pastoral lyrics, and an almost religious-seeming intensity that made the Crystal feel like a cathedral.”

– Portland Mercury

“Bigger and better after hiatus.” – Washington Post

“Tuesday night’s show showcased the immense talent of everyone involved in the group for a truly engaging live experience.” – New York Daily News

“The six-year wait seemed almost worth it for the chance to spend a short while in the company of Pecknold once again.” – Consequence of Sound

“Pecknold’s ultra-pure voice and timeless, picturesque lyrics soared through the hall all night, raising goosebumps at the peak moments in beloved “oldies” like “Ragged Wood,” “He Doesn’t Know Why,” “Helplessness Blues” and especially “Mykonos.”

FLEET FOXES ANNOUNCE US TOUR DATES INCLUDING A RETURN TO NASHVILLE’S RYMAN AUDITORIUM FOR 2018 CRACK-UP OUT NOW ON NONESUCH RECORDS

Video by: Sean Pecknold

Fleet Foxes have announced a run of tour dates in 2018 throughout the Southern part of the US including a return to Nashville’s legendary Ryman Auditorium. Tickets are on sale Friday, December 9 at 10:00 AM Local Time, all tour dates are listed below and a tour admat can be found here. Fleet Foxes are preparing to conclude a massive year, including sold-out shows at Hollywood Bowl, Red Rocks Amphitheatre and multi night sellouts in Seattle, New York and more. The band’s latest album Crack-Up and select songs is being celebrated  on the Best of 2017 lists including Esquire, Consequence of Sound, Paste, Uproxx, Vulture and others.

Fleet Foxes released Crack-Up on June 16, 2017 via Nonesuch Records. Following a six-year hiatus, the band earned international praise for what the New York Times called ”a defiant artistic statement, an album that dares to feel important.”” This year, Fleet Foxes stopped by The Late Show with Stephen Colbert twice performing “Third of May” and then “Fool’s Errand”  as well as a full session on CBS This Morning. The band provided a look at the experience, behind (and on) stage, with special guests The Westerlies. Watch the full video by Sean Pecknold.

Fleet Foxes recently took part in Record Store Day’s Black Friday, releasing a special edition 10” EP exclusively through independent record stores. The EP features four songs, thoughtfully selected from a WFUV session recorded at the historic Electric Lady Studio in New York on June 13, 2017, days before the band’s new album, Crack-Up, was released.

“Crack-Up is a defiant artistic statement, an album that dares to feel important.”- New York Times

“The band’s third album is their most complex and compelling to date. Robin Pecknold’s songwriting retreats inward while around him dense folk compositions rise and fall on a massive scale.” – Pitchfork  (Best New Music)

“Rewarding, involving and meticulous, Crack-Up has been well worth the wait.” – AP

“A rich, ideas-driven record which pulls off a pretty unlikely feat: infusing Fleet Foxes’ music with the same sense of transcendence and beauty that they managed the first time, now delivered with an added sense of expansive musical ambition.  Confirms that rarest of achievements: a group somehow hanging on to the essence of who they are, while pushing their art into thrillingly unforeseen places.’ – Q Magazine

“Astonishing.  Crack-Up may be the most anticipated release of the year, a welcome return.  Ambitious, mature, meticulous.” – Uncut

“Adventurous, excellent” – Rolling Stone

“Likely to be the most remarkable album you will hear this year… the return of one of the most original bands of this century.” – Times (London)

“Crack-Up is enveloping enough to get lost in… For every contained and elegantly pretty ballad like “Kept Woman,” there’s a byzantine engine of ambition like the title track, which closes Crack-Up with a burst of energy worthy of its title.” – NPR

“The Seattle-formed indie-folk pick up where they left off with pensive balladry  and life affirming anthems loaded with harmonies that’d make Crosby, Stills & Nash jealous.” – Entertainment Weekly

For Year-End Consideration: Fleet Foxes

FLEET FOXES | CRACK-UP ON NONESUCH RECORDS

On June 16, 2017, Fleet Foxes celebrated the release of their highly anticipated, third studio album, Crack-Up, on Nonesuch Records. The band returned from a six-year hiatus with their most complex piece to date, performed “Third of May” and “Fool’s Errand” on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert as well as a full session on CBS This Morning, and sold out legendary venues like Red Rocks Amphitheatre and the Hollywood Bowl.

Fleet Foxes international tour continues. Today, the band released a look behind (and on) stage during the recent US tour with special guests The Westerlies. Watch the full video, by Sean Pecknold.

The Critics on Crack-Up:

“Crack-Up is a defiant artistic statement, an album that dares to feel important.”

– New York Times

“The band’s third album is their most complex and compelling to date. Robin Pecknold’s songwriting retreats inward while around him dense folk compositions rise and fall on a massive scale.” – Pitchfork (Best New Music)

“Rewarding, involving and meticulous, Crack-Up has been well worth the wait.” – AP

“The Seattle-formed indie-folk pick up where they left off with pensive balladry and life affirming anthems loaded with harmonies that’d make Crosby, Stills & Nash jealous.”

– Entertainment Weekly

“those stunning harmonies—it remains the band that created a new direction for indie music in the late 2000s.” – Esquire

“No matter how much he experiments, Pecknold can’t completely run away from his obvious strengths. The album’s most stirring moments are those trademark vocal blasts …” – Relix

“The band has always prided itself on ornateness, and in that sense, Crack-Up is its richest release to date. ” – AV Club

“The arrangements on Crack-Up are among the most ambitious of Fleet Foxes’ career. They clearly weren’t content to repeat any previous ideas. If Fleet Foxes were going to come back, they were going to take a giant step forward.” – Brooklyn Vegan

“At once sumptuous and ambitious, a serpentine journey from the center of harmony-drenched folk-pop out to the edge of Pecknold’s brain and back. It is lovely, strange and generous, and ultimately a very welcome return for the Seattle band.” – Paste

” Fleet Foxes’ latest album will likely be added to best-of lists for years to come and championed as their knotty, complex magnum opus.” Pop Matters

The Critics on Fleet Foxes Live:

“Triumphant Return… Despite the large venue, Pecknold’s vocals were able to reach those in the far back, highlighted by the band’s impressive musicianship… It all coalesced to create a rich, ethereal setting.” – Billboard

“They brought with them everything fans love about Fleet Foxes: layered harmonies shepherded by Robin Pecknold’s still-incredible voice, pastoral lyrics, and an almost religious-seeming intensity that made the Crystal feel like a cathedral.”

– Portland Mercury

“Tuesday night’s show showcased the immense talent of everyone involved in the group for a truly engaging live experience.” – New York Daily News

“the six-year wait seemed almost worth it for the chance to spend a short while in the company of Pecknold once again.” – Consequence of Sound

– Las Vegas Weekly

“Words? I have none. Rather, I had none after bearing witness in person to the insanely spectacular live performance by Fleet Foxes, and taking some time to reflect I’m still just as amazed as I was when the folk-rock outfit made their final bows at The Mann Center.”

– The Key WXPN

OUT TODAY: FLEET FOXES’ NEW ALBUM CRACK-UP ON NONESUCH RECORDS

by the partae June 21, 2017
written by the partae
Fleet Foxes released the highly anticipated new album Crack-Up to critical acclaim today on Nonesuch Records. This is the band’s third full-length album and first release in six years. The New York Times says of the album: “Crack-Up is a defiant artistic statement, an album that dares to feel important,” and Associated Press notes the album is “rewarding, involving and meticulous, Crack-Up has been well worth the wait.”  Earlier this week, the band performed to an intimate crowd at The Knockdown Center in Queens, NY which was filmed for PBS’ Live from the Artists Den.  While the full show is slated for broadcast later this year, the performance footage of “Third of May/Ōdaigahara” debuted today.

What the critics are saying:
“Crack-Up is a defiant artistic statement, an album that dares to feel important.”- New York Times
“Crack-Up contains his most compelling writing to date because it’s so damn relatable in 2017–reacting and retreating inwards as people and institutions fail to meet the standards set in one’s head.”
– Pitchfork  (Best New Music)
“Astonishing.  Crack-Up may be the most anticipated release of the year, a welcome return.  Ambitious, mature, meticulous.” – Uncut
“Adventurous, excellent” – Rolling Stone
“Likely to be the most remarkable album you will hear this year… the return of one of the most original bands of this century.” – Times (London)
“No matter how much he experiments, Pecknold can’t completely run away from his obvious strengths. The album’s most stirring moments are those trademark vocal blasts …” – Relix
On June 23, Fleet Foxes will embark on an international tour that follows a series of intimate shows in the Pacific Northwest and  four sold out nights at the Sydney Opera House.  All dates are listed below.

FLEET FOXES RELEASE NEW SONG “IF YOU NEED TO, KEEP TIME ON ME”

by the partae June 8, 2017
written by the partae
NEW ALBUM CRACK-UP OUT
JUNE 16 VIA NONESUCH RECORDS

Fleet Foxes have released the third song from their highly anticipated new album Crack-Up, titled “If You Need To, Keep Time on Me.” The album will stream in its entirety via NPR First Listen beginning tomorrow, June 8, and become widely available via Nonesuch Records on Friday, June 16.  Fleet Foxes will perform on The Late Show with Stephen ColbertFriday, June 16 and on CBS This Morning  Saturday, June 17.

Fleet Foxes previously released two tracks off of Crack-Up, both to critical praise. The first, “Third of May / Ōdaigahara”, is a nearly nine-minute epic powered by piano and electric twelve-string guitar, string quartet, and the group’s trademark sparkling harmonies. The second is “Fool’s Errand”, featuring an eerie and beautiful music video directed by Sean Pecknold, with art direction by Adi Goodrich and produced by Society.

‘A rich, ideas-driven record which pulls off a pretty unlikely feat: infusing Fleet Foxes’ music with the same sense of transcendence and beauty that they managed the first time, now delivered with an added sense of expansive musical ambition.  Confirms that rarest of achievements: a group somehow hanging on to the essence of who they are, while pushing their art into thrillingly unforeseen places.’ –Q Magazine

“At a time when indie-rock seems to be growing more culturally marginal by the day, ‘Crack-Up’ is a defiant artistic statement, an album that dares to feel important.” – The New York Times

“Fleet Foxes’ new full-length record, is chiefly concerned with finding peace amid chaos. It’s also more dissonant and plainly mesmeric than anything the band has made before, and filled with these beautiful little half-admissions of inadequacy.” – Pitchfork

“Adventurous, excellent” – Rolling Stone

“Likely to be the most remarkable album you will hear this year… the return of one of the most original bands of this century.” – The Times

“No matter how much he experiments, Pecknold can’t completely run away from his obvious strengths. The album’s most stirring moments are those trademark vocal blasts …” – Relix

“The band shakes off its penchant for baroque arrangements for a string of two- and three-part epics with sudden shifts in tone, while singer Robin Pecknold peppers personal reflection with musings on beautiful mountains and cryptozoological wonders like nymphs and monsters. It looks heavy on paper, but in headphones, Crack-Up is light as a warm afternoon breeze. “ – Vulture

“Astonishing.  Crack-Up may be the most anticipated release of the year, a welcome return.  Ambitious, mature, meticulous.” – Uncut

Fleet Foxes recently kicked off a massive international tour with a series of intimate shows in the Pacific Northwest. The band was warmly welcomed back to the stage by what Seattle Weekly described as “a rapt, adoring crowd.” The Seattle Times noted of their return, “It’s almost unheard of for a band to disappear for this long, and then come back as big as ever.” The following week the band opened this year’s Vivid Live festival with four sold out nights at the Sydney Opera House, described by The Australian as “a spellbinding display of Fleet Foxes’ originality and vocal and instrumental dexterity.” All dates are listed below.
