“As smooth as it is nostalgic…Dianas have stepped up their game.” I OH YOU on “Heart Of Me”, Fresh Juice Of The Day
“They haven’t lost their ingenuous knack for writing catchy, dreamy songs
that take you floating away to another place.” Xpress on “Heart Of Me”
“Moving pieces click together seamlessly and individual elements combine
for a bewitching and reverie-inducing beauty – something that Dianas
has always done well in the past but absolutely nail here.” Weirdo Wasteland on “Heart Of Me”
Directed by Tom Mannion and produced in conjunction with the band, the video follows one girl through multiple identities – resulting in a tense and mildly unsettling vibe. Featuring cameos from the Dianas themselves, it’s a surreal accompaniment to the tumbling rhythms and flyaway melodies of the song.
Dianas are Caitlin Moloney, Nathalie Pavlovic and Anetta Nevin, originally from Perth and now firmly planted in Melbourne. First appearing on the live circuit in their hometown in 2013 with freshly learnt instruments and a handful of pop songs aptly titled EP #01, the trio’s naive yet intricate sounds instantly garnered attention from fans and local radio alike.
A couple more EPs, an album, a brief hiatus and a few lineup changes later – 2017 is seeing the band truly coming into their own. As well as praise from I OH YOU, Pilerats, Weirdo Wasteland, Ripe, Xpress and more, latest release “Heart Of Me” was added to FBi Radio and RTRFM and has also seen airplay at triple j, Triple R, 2SER, Radio Adelaide and 4ZZZ.
Dianas have launched right back into the live game, having played their first gig in Sydney for Gusher Magazine late last year, taking on a coast-to-coast tour in December playing to a sold out room back home in Perth, support for Allah-Las and plenty of their own headline shows in Melbourne.
Sydney, don’t miss the opportunity to catch Dianas make their headline debut next weekend at the heavenly Golden Age Cinema. Details below.
