What is your name and role within the band? Darku and I am the band?
How did you start? With DJing I just started collecting records and making playlists with them that transformed into mixing.
Where are you based?
Currently in Tulsa, OK
Please give an example of your music writing process?
I can’t really call it a process, something’s start very structured with an idea ready to go while a lot of other things just tend to be accidents that ended up sounding cool and running with it. I’ve had songs made start to finish in a 3-4 hour time and I’ve had others be a year long process.
What are you working on right now?
Putting together a remix ep of my last single (Kick In The Bass), an EP of more club bangers,
What is your gear setup?
3 CDJ 2000NXS and a DJM-900NXS
What do you like to do outside of music and does it affect your music? I like to cycle and be active in making a better community where I’m at. I’m not sure exactly how this affects my music because those are rather positive things yet my music tends to still be dark.
How would you describe your music genre? I wouldn’t describe it as a genre. I think we are starting to live in a musical era where Genres just aren’t a thing.
Do you know any music theory?
I do. I wanted to take music theory in high school but I didn’t have the correct prerequisites so later on I learned a lot by watching a lot of youtube videos, Also living with another producer for a year didn’t hurt either.
What are your plans for the future?
At some point I’m going to buy an Aston Martin, That’s probably 20 years from now but who knows. More short term looking to finish up more of these tracks, hopefully be working with some awesome vocalists to create some dance anthems.
How did you get into music?
Not sure if there was ever a time I wasn’t into music. As far back as I can think I was creating something.
