Freshly formed nascent duo Beachwood today reveal their cinematic debut release ‘Miracle’ from their forthcoming EP.
Colliding together the electronic beats of Jarrad – who is better known as acclaimed producer MSTR Rogers – and the folk heavy song writing of Angeline they create the perfect sonic partnership. The two could not be more different, yet create a perfect pairing.
Jarrad is no stranger to constructing hits; under the guise of MSTR Rogers his songwriting credits include working with pop royalty Charli XCX, Lana Del Ray, Demi Lovato, Icona Pop, and Lauryn Hill.
Dramatic and brooding with heavy, pounding drums, the sparse verses of their debut ‘Miracle’ suddenly twist with sharp piano stabs and shades of drum and bass. The pulsating, layered tapestry and driving production then climax into the drop, closely mimicking the lyrical content.
Describing the meaning behind the song Jarrad says, “In it’s most simple form it’s a song about when something is going wrong, you can’t fix it and need a miracle, but regardless you’re going to keep moving forward.”
Angeline continues “And then with the music video concept we kind of pushed this idea further. Delving deeper into how our relationship to technology and our screen devices in our current context, can compound that feeling of things being ‘a little off’”
After meeting in LA, the multi-faceted duo have returned to their hometown of Melbourne to take up residence and focus their efforts into Beachwood.
