Based in Austin, Texas, techno mastermind Barbuto is set to feature an abundance of fresh talent through the launch of his brand new label, Mavic Music.
Originally from Sydney, Australia, Barbuto’s first release via the new label is a compilation featuring eleven original releases from exciting new names, the majority of whom are Australian or currently based in Australia.
Since his first release on Octopus Recordings in 2015, Christian Barbuto has steadily risen through the ranks of the Austin club circuit. Now a recognised figure in the international techno scene, Barbuto was recently named as one of DJ Mag’s ‘ 11 Emerging Artists You Need to Hear This March’, with his last release on Unity Records, ‘Guided Perception’, hitting the top thirty in the Beatport chart.
Barbuto’s consistent production of quality techno music has seen him release tracks on some of the most prestigious labels in the industry including Tronic, Octopus, Phobiq, OFF, Unity and Transmit.
His natural flair in the DJ booth has hypnotised some of the most renowned dance floors across the world. Barbuto has taken centre stage in huge clubs across the US including Space and WMC in Miami, The End Up in San Francisco, Kingdom Austin and Avalon in L.A. He is equally as experienced in commanding international dancefloors such as Vertigo Costa Rica, XE54 Melbourne, Melkweg Amsterdam, Coda Toronto and BPM Festival in Mexico.
Last year he toured his home country of Australia and now with the launch of Mavic Music he is championing some of the best electronic music artists from Down Under.
The eleven-track compilation shows off a diverse selection of releases from some of the most compelling techno artists around – Mavic Music is surely one of the most exciting new labels in the electronic music scene right now.
