LISA CARUSO SHARES MUSIC VIDEO STILLS FROM DEBUT ALBUM IN FEELINGS

Live at the Bowl will see the world premiere of the MESS Synthesiser Orchestra with an epic, newly commissioned piece called Magnitudes come to life on Saturday 27 March as part of MESS at the Bowl. The MESS Synthesiser Orchestra brings together an almost impossible array of cutting edge synthesisers – also called synths – spanning from the 1960s to the present day. Performing as one ensemble for Live at the Bowl, this will be one of the largest gatherings of these iconic electronic musical instruments ever seen on stage. Co-founder of the Melbourne Electronic Sound Studio (MESS) Robin Fox says this unique performance event reflects the diversity of sounds from yesterday, today and tomorrow in an ecstatic show of togetherness and community. “The inauguration of the MESS Synthesiser Orchestra signals the beginning of a series of mass activations of the MESS collection at an extraordinary scale. There will be an incredible array of electronic instruments from right across the history of electronic music on stage – some for the first time in many decades. This is a unique and rare opportunity for audiences; we want to show them that electronic music is not just one thing. It is in fact a multiplicity of techniques, approaches and sensibilities which have revolutionised the way in which we listen to and understand sound and music,” says Fox. Audiences will be entranced by Magnitudes – conducted by Mat Watson – a performance event which makes use of 40 synths and 16 performers in the newly formed MESS Synthesiser Orchestra. “Magnitudes moves through tonal, textural, melodic, harmonic, abstract and absurd themes to reveal itself across multiple movements. Expect intense sound phenomena and complete chaos giving way to moments of stillness and feelings of euphoria. I feel incredibly excited about performing this work with such a talented group of artists at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl. It’ll be a wild time!” says Watson. MESS at the Bowl will also see a sweeping line-up of local talent performing exciting sonic explorations with sets from Simona Castricum, R. Rebeiro (My Disco/Downwards), Naretha Williams (Blak Mass), OK EG and the legendary sound of Artificial (Nicole Skeltys/B(if)tek), with live visuals by Carla Zimbler. Despite a brutal year of lockdown and isolation, musical talent still runs deep in Melbourne and MESS at the Bowl is the celebration that music lovers and musicians of all kinds have been missing. “One thing is certain. MESS loves them all. MESS is genre agnostic. Sound is sound and everything is available for creative deployment,” says Fox. MESS is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to giving everyone access to the entire history of electronic music in instrumental form. MESS is the custodian of a museum grade collection of hundreds of synthesisers, drum machines and every variety of electronic sound making device. For more information visit mess.foundation Tickets will go on sale from 11am, Thursday 11 February via liveatthebowl.com.au We’re excited to be welcoming visitors back to our venues in line with the most recent Victorian Government guidelines on COVID-19. We have opened our outdoor café Protagonist, the Sunday Markets as well as the Australian Music Vault. These openings coincided with the Live at the Bowl season, which officially kicked off on 8 January 2021. While the ghost lights will stay on a little longer inside our venues, we will continue to offer audiences the chance to experience the wonder of the performing arts via our digital hub – Together With You . "The new record rushes like a runaway ghost train, eagerly shifting between funk, horrorcore stadium rock, pop, grunge and electronic." - The Independent "From the horror-rave of The Dead Walk to the blood-spattered rock riffs of Cemetery and Skeleton, there are plenty of dark treats here to soundtrack fearful, sleepless nights." - Kerrang! “Immersive and powerful…. It’s the sound of genius, lurking in the shadows.” - Metal Hammer " He’s never met a supernatural entity he can’t pair with thumping darktronica and stalking rock guitar.”  - MOJO “This third engrossing outing conjures worlds from chilly, pulsing synths and waspish guitar.” - Uncut “Irresistible and viscerally pleasing… Thoroughly captivating.” - The Wire “The familiar, leaden pulses and the odd skittering rhythms still have the power to make the skin itch and the listener wonder just what it is they can see out of the corner of their eye.” - Prog "The fact that he’s still creating — and that it’s this vital, this vicious, and this urgent — only further fulfills his moniker as the Master.” - Consequence of Sound "Neon-tinged, dance floor-friendly menace.” - AV Club   John Carpenter releases his third studio album of “soundtracks for the movies in your mind”, ‘Lost Themes III: Alive After Death’ via Sacred Bones Records. Following the stomping "Weeping Ghost," the dancefloor-ready "The Dead Walk," and suspense-filled title-track "Alive After Death" brought to life with animations by Boneface, the album is now revealed in its entirety.  ‘Lost Themes III: Alive After Death’ streaming options: https://geni.us/LostThemesIII Underpinning Carpenter’s renaissance as a musician has been his collaboration with Cody Carpenter and Daniel Davies. They’ve composed and performed as a trio since the first ‘Lost Themes’ album in 2015: on studio albums, on soundtracks, and onstage. Here, the trio reaches a new level of creative mind meld. Richly rendered worlds are built in the interplay between Davies’s guitar and the duelling synthesisers played by the Carpenters.  "We begin with a theme, a bass line, a pad, something that sounds good and will lead us to the next layer,” John says of the trio’s process. “We then just keep adding on from there. We understand each other's strengths and weaknesses, how to communicate without words, and the process is easier now than it was in the beginning. We’ve matured.”   Much has changed in the trio’s musical life since 2016’s ‘Lost Themes II’. Following the release of that album, the group went on their first-ever concert tour, performing material from the ‘Lost Themes’ albums, as well as music from Carpenter’s classic film scores. They re-recorded many of those classic movie themes for 2017’s ‘Anthology’ album. The following year, John was asked to executive produce and compose the music for the new Halloween movie directed by David Gordon Green, which promptly became the highest-grossing instalment in the series. Whereas the original ‘Lost Themes’ album came as a surprise after years of relative silence from Carpenter, the third instalment sees him in the midst of a resurgent moment as a cultural force. The 2018 ‘Halloween’ score gave his music its biggest audience in decades, and the world he releases his new album into is one that has, at long last, given him the credit he deserves as a founding father of modern electronic music.

SUPPORT FOR ‘CARAMEL SLICE’ “Infectious downbeat psychedelia that’s bursting with groove.” - Deafen County (AUS) “It's a mesmerising, bare bones, jammy type one that had me daydreaming. Oh and thanks, now i feel like a caramel slice." - Declan Byrne - triple j (AUS) “I always go for the caramel slice at the bakery as my go-to treat, and this song is just that - woozy, rich and leaves you feeling full as a goog.” - Pip Rasmussen - triple j Unearthed (AUS) Following on from their critically praised single ‘Pomegranate’, Sydney-based indie-rock quartet Silky Roads have just unveiled their soothing new single ‘Caramel Slice’. Channelling a surf-rock infused vigour, ‘Caramel Slice’ bursts with an explosion of sunshine, as reverb-soaked guitars and spacious percussion playfully intertwine. As the track unfolds, subtle fuzz-laden verses effortlessly build into a soaring chorus, capping off a meticulously composed psych-pop number. Silky Roads talks about the meaning behind ‘Caramel Slice’: “‘Caramel Slice’ was written during the Black Summer fires; Lyrically the song expresses how we felt fed up with the blind eye that the people in power give towards global issues. We thought it was fitting to add sirens and commotion, as well as a surprise uproar at the end to further translate this point. However, as always, the meaning of the song is up to the listeners interpretation.” Previous single ‘Pomegranate’ was embraced by Australian radio stations triple j, triple j Unearthed, 4ZZZ and Radio Adelaide. The track also received support from online blogs Atwood Magazine (USA), The Soundcheck, Forte Magazine, AAA Backstage and Something You Said. While they’ve only been a band for a short period, Silky Roads have shown themselves to be a prolific up and comers. The four songwriters take inspiration from the likes of Ocean Alley, Lime Cordiale and Mako Road, creating a unique blend of indie and psych-rock, with further releases on the horizon for 2021. ‘Caramel Slice’ is available worldwide now Click to stream 'Caramel Slice' https://fanlink.to/eH4tzz FOLLOW SILKY ROADS FACEBOOK | TWITTER | INSTAGRAM | SOUNDCLOUD | SPOTIFY | APPLE MUSIC

SILKY ROADS REVEAL MESMERISING NEW CUT ‘CARAMEL SLICE’

Super-producer SJUR has teamed up with Lovespeake, to create an uplifting new anthem - ‘Me In The Middle’. The song is released via Sony Music Norway on February 5. Bergen native SJUR has been rising through the ranks of Scandinavia’s unbeatable electronic scene over the last few years, and with over 186 million streams under his belt it’s no secret that his music instantly connects. Lovespeake, who is considered the leading topline writer and singer in Norway, recently collaborated with David Guetta’s huge hit ‘Save My Life’. The song was created on a cold winter’s day in a studio in Oslo last year. SJUR and Lovespeake started working on the song in fellow producer and songwriter Jesper Borgen's studio on a cold winter day in Oslo last year. "For me, this is a very motivating song. It is about being able to achieve your goals and focus enough on yourself in order to achieve these. I have worked with Lovespeake on several sessions before and he is very skilled. And, with Jesper joining us we became a really good team”- SJUR Hailing from a small town on the west coast of Norway, SJUR can show for great success with over 186 million streams on Spotify, including releases like, What Do I Do and Rich & Famous with Isac Elliot. His cover of “Let Me Love You” by Mario has gained over 100 million streams on Spotify alone, and entered the charts in both Norway, Canada, Finland, Denmark, Holland and Sweden. After a slightly different year, SJUR is looking forward to 2021 – a year he hopes will be more social, full of gigs and new music. Instagram YouTube Facebook Spotify

SJUR AND LOVESPEAKE TEAM UP FOR BLISTERING NEW TRACK ‘ME IN THE MIDDLE’ RELEASED VIA SONY MUSIC NORWAY ON FEBRUARY 5

STREAM / PURCHASE ‘AFSILA’ HERE DESTIINO – ‘AFSILA’ LUMIÈRE NOIRE RECORDS ____________________________________________________________________________________ Announced today, French electronic producer Pierre-Alexandre Busson, better known as Yuksek, reveals the first details of his new alias, Destiino. Sharing the inaugural taster of the project, Destiino’s debut single, ‘Afsila’ is out now via Chloé's Lumière Noire Records. ‘Afsila’ is the first track taken from a soon to be released EP of the same name on February 19th. The origins of the project and Yuksek’s tormented alter-ego of Destiino revert back to 2017, when the Rheims-born electronic producer was invited to take part in a unique experiment - a residence at visual artist Xavier Veilhan’s Studio Venezia. The installation, as part of The 57th Venice Biennale, invited musicians to make use of its instruments in order to compose live in front of an audience.    Inspired by the spontaneity and improvising nature of the experience, Yuksek returned home with a new sonic focus to push the limits of his artistic boundaries, break conventional creative processes and surrender to spontaneity by recording improvised tracks in one sequence on his armada of analogue machines. “Destiino is Yuksek’s alter ego, it came out straight from the synthesizers PCB, without over thinking. It’s the result of lonely recording sessions when I pushed the ‘stop recording button’ when exhausted. It also came out of public recording sessions at Xavier Veilhan exhibition in Venice Biennale. I could hardly describe the style, but I can only say that it’s most of the time one shot recording, nearly no editing, like sur-realist’s automatic writing, like joy in the machine.” - Destiino Embarking on a series of experimental music sessions between Venice and Yuksek’s studio in Rheims, the output very almost didn’t see the light of day. By his own admission, Yuksek didn’t quite know what to make of the unclassifiable tracks, which comprised both of pieces that were too moody for dance-music labels and others that were too club-focused for more experimental imprints. It was with Lumière Noire, a label that defies classification, that the project found an open ear.   Along with label boss Chloé, who shares an equal love and inclination towards shifting away from club formatted sounds and holding a deep appreciation for narrating stories with music, Yuksek created edited versions of his recordings which withhold the desired raw musical feel. As time-progressed and ideas between the two artists were exchanged and flourishing, the Destiino project was born.   Dark atmospheres and frantic melodies conjured by the unmistakable aura of analogue hardware create a body of music which encompasses experimental sounds from lo-fi, to electronica, cinematic scores and acid-tinged techno.   With more Destiino music forthcoming this year, ‘Afsila’ is out now via Lumière Noire Records. Image: Cian Marangos Melbourne metal stalwarts Void Of Vision have teamed up with Thornhill's Jacob Charlton for a reimagined version of 'Year Of The Rat'. Taken from Void Of Vision's 2019 album Hyperdaze, this cut comes oozing with classic VOV heaviness, complete with ethereal vocals from the Thornhill vocalist throughout. On looking back at 'Year Of The Rat' over a year since its original release, Void Of Vision frontman Jack Bergin describes having a chance to really value his growth since writing the track. "While I still feel like I’m not where I want to be mentally, it’s songs like this where I can truly see how much has really changed around me in such a short space of time. To gain a form of positivity from such an overwhelmingly negative track over the course of such an overwhelmingly negative year speaks volumes to the importance of heavy music and the reflection within it," he says, adding: "'Year Of The Rat' was written for those who have reached their expiry date, for the weak that have finally been weeded out. Watching an undeserving individual have a position of ‘power’ stripped from them has been a common theme throughout the year 2020, this song goes out to them.” Today's release also comes alongside a hectic new music video starring Jacob, check it out below.

Artist: Felix Cartal & Kiiara Title: Happy Hour Label: Physical Presents Download / Stream Returning in a sparkling pop creation via a proven collaboration, we see platinum producer Felix Cartal and celebrated songstress Kiiara defy the usual industry standards and allow their creativity to guide them on their latest single. "Happy Hour" is an uplifting tune paired with wry, personal lyrics that will provide the next anthem for 2021, out now via Physical Presents. Who needs romantic perfection when you have radiant happiness and a drink in your hand? Felix Cartal says about the song: "The idea and lyrics for this song were created during a writing session in Norway. I think my time in Scandinavia was really beneficial to my songwriting process because they have this effortless approach to pop writing. We had a breakthrough when we started thinking of juxtaposing ‘Happy Hour’ with darker lyrics. It kind of all fell together once we figured out how to attack it, and I dub it my ‘uplifting loser anthem.’ It felt sort of pop, but sort of unconventional, and to have Kiiara feature on it was unreal because I felt that her pop music has that same unpredictable quality.” Kiiara tells us about the collaboration: "Felix and I have been meaning to work together on an original song of our own for years. I've always been a fan of his work. I remember him sending me a remix of my song ‘Feels’ a few years back and I was blown away. I'm really excited about our new song ‘Happy Hour.’ It's a melodramatic emo anthem (lol that's both of our specialities)." With over 270 Million Spotify plays and counting, Vancouver based Felix Cartal has three platinum singles "Get What You Give" "Love Me," and "Mine" under his belt, as well as an award for Dance Recording of the Year at Junos 2020. His music has been featured on major Youtube channels Trap Nation, Mr. Suicide Sheep, Mr. Revillz, Chill Nation, Selected, and xKito amongst others, accumulating over 90 Million views. He has also seen support from BBC Radio 1's Danny Howard and Diplo & Friends and SiriusXM Chill has also heavily supported several singles, while his Weekend Workout radio show was featured on SiriusXM Diplo's Revolution. Felix has collaborated with several major artists such as Kaskade, R3HAB, and Gallant; additionally, he has created official remixes for the likes of Selena Gomez, Zedd, Galantis, Dillon Francis, MØ, Ellie Goulding, Diplo and more recently, Anne-Marie & Doja Cat as well as Daya & Shallou's "Older." Kiiara's breakout single "Gold" reached no. 5 on Billboard's US Top 40 charts and over 675 million streams alone. In total, she's amassed over 2 billion streams across platforms. The singer has been featured by several industry mammoths including David Guetta, Linkin Park, and Cheat Codes. Kiiara has also collaborated with blackbear on the single, "So Sick" which was recently remixed by Martin Jensen. "Happy Hour" is the first release since her debut album "lil kiiwi" from October 2020. "Felix has carved his own path in this crazy dance music world, building a loyal fan base track by track" Billboard about Felix Cartal "It goes from a cool electro place into some more mellow, halftime vibes during the hook. No earth-shattering drops, no pandering. This is just good music for great people." Complex about Felix Cartal "chopped and screwed vocals sit so perfectly in the track's jerky electro that you almost forget they're there." The Guardian about Kiiara "chorus had a trance-like pull, chopping up vocals and splicing them into an indecipherable hyperpop concoction." Pitchfork about Kiiara's "Gold" "Kiiara's lighter-than-air vocals are coupled with a flirtatious beat on 'Intention,' which definitely didn't get as much consideration as Low Kii Savage single 'Gold,' but is no less catchy." Photo Credit: Tristan McKenzie The time has come, friends. Just as the dust has settled on a huge album cycle for Perth’s Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, the band are igniting their next one; this time in the form of the huge SHYGA! The Sunlight Mound.   The new album, the fourth studio effort from Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, is a natural evolution and yet an exciting look ahead to the sorts of weird and wonderful soundscapes Jack McEwan and the band have been playing in during their time off road. At 14 tracks strong, SHYGA! is intense in its delivery - a trademark of Psychedelic Porn Crumpets’ output - however in its songwriting and arrangement, the band presents their most refined and dynamic collection of music yet, landing them the coveted spot as Triple J Feature Album.    STREAM/BUY   Featuring previously released singles ‘Mundungus’, ‘Mr. Prism!’, ‘Tally-Ho’ and ‘Pukebox’, SHYGA! is an album full of twists and turns. Written during an extended period of time off the road at home in Perth, Psychedelic Porn Crumpets’ frontman and songwriter Jack McEwan found himself fully going back to the drawing board when it came to sonic inspiration. For a band who has spent the last few years pre-pandemic consistently touring internationally and through Australia, Psychedelic Porn Crumpets’ off-cycle period was one that gave way to reflection and rejuvenation.   We hear this across songs like ‘Sawfish Monktooth’, ‘Glitter Bug’ and ‘Mango Terrarium’; McEwan bounding through vintage guitar rock influences, blending them with his own unique vision for each track. “I wanted to evolve on a sound that’s always felt playful and inviting, an upbeat mixture of fuzz tones and harmonies that nod towards The Beatles, but punch more like early Kings of Leon and Nirvana. A fast paced, high intensity record that journeys from warped acoustics, haunting strings, warm Melotron, to heavy guitar riffs that venture through a plethora of styles and forms, while still allowing the listener to breathe and treat the album as a whole piece.” Jack McEwan, Psychedelic Porn Crumpets    For Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, creativity and production hasn’t stopped in 2020 and 2021. Despite much of this year’s tour plans being put on pause, Psychedelic Porn Crumpets have used their time off road to continue preparing themselves for an eventual blistering return to stages around the world with a heavy-hitter of an album primed for the live space.   With singles ‘Mr. Prism’, ‘Mundungus, ‘Tally-Ho’ and ‘Pukebox’ earning acclaim across Spotify, Apple Music, Triple J, BBC Radio One, Radio X and titles including NME, CLASH, The Line Of Best Fit and Rolling Stone Australia, Psychedelic Porn Crumpets’  signalled something special was building out on the West Coast; they were gearing up for something big. The creation of SHYGA! The Sunlight Mound, especially off the back of 2019’s huge LP And Now For The Whatchamacallit, came together in a different environment for McEwan and the results speak to the band’s evolution and McEwan’s evolution as a songwriter.   “Hopefully the album translates well to the listener as I feel it’s the work I’m most proud of, dynamically and production wise. The title reflects the madness, crazy midweek adventures, highs and physical lows of touring and I feel like it encompasses a sense of euphoria to say, SHYGA! The Sunlight Mound.”  Jack McEwan, Psychedelic Porn Crumpets   SHYGA! The Sunlight mound is available in Standard Vinyl, Exclusive JB Hi Fi Vinyl (instore only, CD, Cassette Tape, Merch Bundles     PRAISE FOR PSYCHEDELIC PORN CRUMPETS   “It’s arguably their most daring, cohesive set yet and definitely Australia’s first great psych-rock saga of 2021.” Triple J   “PPC has their own sound down pat by now. It’s all double scoops of psych riffs and endless refills of careening switch ups. Prepare to go turbo with this band once again.” Triple J Unearthed, Dave Ruby Howe   “...it’s a psych sizzler with a thirst for the outlandish.” Clash   “Lords of the loud Psychedelic Porn Crumpets have entered the year with a bang with their brand new, ultra fun and hi-vibing single, ‘Pukebox’. It’s 3 minutes of absolute pure fun and chaos.” AAA Backstage September 2020 saw Psychedelic Porn Crumpets make an initial return to touring in WA, thanks to easing of restrictions; a way for the band to reconnect with fans, and restart their engines ahead of their national tour with Ocean Alley, scheduled for February and March 2021.   PSYCHEDELIC PORN CRUMPETS TOUR DATES   Supporting Ocean Alley Friday 6th August John Cain Arena Melbourne  Tickets Friday 13th August Thebarton Theatre Adelaide SOLD OUT Saturday 14th August Thebarton Theatre Adelaide Tickets Friday 20th August Fortitude Music Hall Brisbane SOLD OUT Saturday 21st August Fortitude Music Hall Brisbane SOLD OUT Sunday 22nd August Fortitude Music Hall Brisbane Tickets Friday 27th August Hordern Pavilion Sydney SOLD OUT Saturday 28th August Hordern Pavilion Sydney Tickets Saturday 11th September Fremantle Arts Centre Fremantle Tickets   SHYGA! Perth Burmese rapper, DJ and audio engineer KOTA shares his new release ‘WASTED’, with heavy hip-hop roots and strong spitfire energy, premiered via Milky yesterday. Releasing alongside a video clip, ‘WASTED’ is a free-flowing and introspective track that explores the themes of new beginnings. “This new track was influenced by a short break I had with my music where I wasn’t being focused and going out too much, but I stopped all that and I'm now ready to work - which is talked about in the hook,” says KOTA. The video clip which also releases today offers an imaginative and aesthetic narrative to accompany the track. The video features KOTA slowly submerging in water encased in a perspex coffin, symbolising re-emerging as an artist after feeling misdirected or trapped. In relation to the creation of the film clip, KOTA explains: "The production team and myself really went all in for this video and it's my proudest work to date. Being able to watch your track come to life is an amazing feeling and I can't wait to share this with everyone." Prior to ‘WASTED’, KOTA has been releasing tracks since 2018, finding and establishing his own signature sound, leaving an impression on some of Perth’s biggest events such as Get Bodied Festival (The Game Sports Bar), Liquid Kandy 1+2 (Metro City), Apocalypse Tour Perth (Jack Rabbit Slims), Riddim (Gilkison's) and more. KOTA has also supported some of the leading names in Australian hip-hop such as ChillinIt, Drapht and Wombat, and worked alongside rising artist, Nerve for his track 'Like That'.   If this release is anything to judge the rest of 2021, KOTA will be an anticipated artist to watch.

If you're a fan of Ocean Alley and The Rubens then I think there'll be plenty about Chutney that you'll be into.  Declan Byrne (Triple J)  That voice is crazy good! I love the way you belt it out but keep it cruisy at the same time. Claire Mooney (Triple J)  A breezy breed of indie rock with just enough grit, it’ll hook you in from the first chord.  Happy Mag  Vocals are akin to the likes of Alex Turner of Arctic Monkeys, with a music composition which would not seem out of place in the early 2000s. Young Creative Press  “Real love is hard to come by. So you find a way to cope without it.” The melancholy quote from Sir Elton John’s biopic, Rocketman, struck a chord for Chutney lead vocalist, Matt Hansford, after watching the film on a weekday afternoon. Inspired to put pen to paper, the line was rewritten “real love is hard to come by, she’ll take whatever she can get, you cut a certain silhouette” and the concept for Invisible was conceived.  Featuring honeyed vocal harmonies and guitar lines not uncommon in the early 2000s britpop scene, the track’s unique structure flips a standard song arrangement on its head, replacing the absent chorus with a defining riff to compliment the song’s steady beat.  Delving into the minds of the lonely, the single vocalises the thoughts that come with feeling not good enough and unlucky in love. Frontman, Matt Hansford, explains: “Everyone at some point in their life feels as though they don’t deserve someone’s love, that they’re invisible and dragging them down. You can be left thinking maybe they would be better off without you in their life”. Invisible, although forlorn in its lyricism, somehow manages to leave you with a sense of warmth. As though being invisible isn’t so bad after all, if it means realising you’re with the wrong person. The thought-provoking lyrics paired with a palpable solo from guitarist Cal Hughes, prove Chutney is well and truly on their way to a future alongside some of their biggest musical influences, Catfish and the Bottlemen & The Strokes. The single will also be accompanied by a satire-soaked music video, set for release on February 11.  Chutney’s electrifying live shows and expressive songwriting verifies the four-piece as a standout in the Gold Coast alternative rock scene. With all members hailing from separate local bands Augusta, Hot Coffee and the Stingin’ Rogers before coming together in late 2019 to turn their mutual love for lyrical indie rock into a fully fledged outfit.  The boys kick-started their musical career releasing their debut track Romance & Intrigue, catching the attention of local fans, leaving them with a taste for Chutney and wanting more. Subsequently, further tracks were released and began charting in the top 5 on triple j Unearthed, setting the group up for their self-titled five track EP shared in September of 2020. The release carries mastering credits from Brian Lucey of Arctic Monkeys, the Black Keys and Chet Faker fame along with production by longtime collaborator Scotty French of Lovestreet Studios.  The EP’s opening track Consolation Prize presents a bluesy ballad listeners can’t help but sing along to, with the song consequently receiving praise from triple j Unearthed tastemakers. Juxtaposing this track, the EP also notably features high-energy, riff-driven track Outcast. Quickly becoming a fan favourite, the thrashing tune showcases Chutney’s versatility whilst remaining true to their british-influenced roots.  Impressively slick guitar lines, magnetic vocals, pounding drums and throbbing bass lines, form the crux of this first-class lineup, with the self-proclaimed “condiment rockers” proving to be more than just a side sauce, they’re the whole damn meal.  CHUTNEY  NEW SINGLE INVISIBLE – FEBRUARY 4  LISTEN TO UNRELEASED TRACK HERE  PRE-SAVE THE TRACK HERE  https://www.facebook.com/officialchutneyband/

ERRA RELEASE NEW SINGLE ‘SCORPION HYMN’, SELF-TITLED ALBUM OUT MARCH 19

To celebrate the release of their fourth album 0202 next Friday 12 February, The Rubens have announced they’ll be collaborating with the fine wine merchants at Built to Spill Wine, to bring fans the band’s very own 0202 Cabernet Pet Nat! The limited-edition wine, personally selected by the band, will be available to pre-order on its own, via album bundles or a ticket bundle option for the band’s just-announced, unbelievably intimate Sydney show at Crowbar next Wed 10 Feb. Tickets are on sale now and extremely limited, so fans are encouraged to get in quick! After many taste tests with the band, the Built to Spill Wine team paired the indie-pop genre benders with Ryan O'Meara of Express Winemakers, who delivers some of the freshest juice to come out of the Great Southern. O’Meara concocted this effervescent little release from healthy cabernet grapes with gentle pressing to make it light and finished it pet nat style; naturally sparkling, unnaturally delicious. It is a wild fruited fizzer, plenty of blood orange upfront, like a San Pell Aranciata Rossa with layers of watermelon granita, refreshing herbal notes and a crunchy, dry finish. Speaking of the collaboration, frontman Sam Margin says: “We’re so bloody excited to have collaborated with Built to Spill Wine and Express Winemakers to bring you our 0202 Cabernet Pet Nat. It’s yum as and it’s got bubbles, so it’s the perfect bottle to pop in celebration of our new album 0202!” This week the band also kick off their Album Launch Series – a 6-date run of regional NSW starting in Bathurst this Thurs Feb 4, followed by Morton (Fri Feb 5), Tamworth (Thurs Feb 11), Dubbo (Fri Feb 12), Port Macquarie (Sat Feb 13) before finishing in Thirroul on Fri Feb 20. Cementing their status as a band that continues to evolve as songwriters and push the boundaries of alternative rock/pop, new album 0202 – featuring hits ‘Live In Life’, ‘Time Of My Life’, ‘Heavy Weather’ & current single ‘Masterpiece’ (on high triple j rotation and climbing up the Shazam charts) – is a forward-thinking album for a backward year, and an exciting new chapter for The Rubens celebrating the five-piece at their creative peak. A huge testament to their unwavering talent and ability to constantly reinvent themselves, 0202 marks the start of yet another exciting chapter for the band. “We’re so bloody proud of this album and the way we created it, and we can’t believe how lucky we are to have made it this far. PRAISE FOR CREAMS "Brilliantly sinister" NME "Stormy, confessional electronica” i-D "Supernatural" Sniffers Rising Tbilisi, Georgia-based artist and producer, Creams, today shares her debut Sleep On Me EP and a striking visual for the title track. Listen to the EP HERE and watch the video directed by Berlin-based, Tbilisi-raised talent Buba Beboshvili, HERE. 'Sleep On Me' sees Creams demonstrate her vision of dark-pop is anything but detached or glumly oppressive - instead, it is deeply-felt and tactile, her deep vocals slithering their way underneath your skin with unassuming melodies. Her skeletal arrangements are fleshed out with buzzing, analog synths, and grainy programmed percussion. Magnetic and alluring, yet twisted in its beauty, 'Sleep On Me' embodies the paradoxes that define the strange pull of Creams’ music, adding to the mesmorising way she ratchets the tension up and down throughout the track. Of the release, Creams shares, "'Sleep On Me' is like a fragment from my subconscious. I pushed myself to dive deeper into unconventional and distressing themes that are often overlooked — the kind that can be repressed in modern culture and live in the shadows. I believe there are beauty and power in shining light on uncomfortable topics, and this is what I wanted to reflect in this body of work. As a whole, the EP speaks on my insecurities and the power I possess when facing them. It’s like Pandora’s box .. a closed Pandora’s box.  About the video, she adds, "This music video feels like a fusion of cold and warm air; at parts, it is dark, inky, and a bit doomy. At others, it gets to be the complete opposite: radiant, bright, cheerful, with a blue sky that almost hurts to look at. The two sides of the human psyche are presented as coexistent and in a natural motion. It gets risky, quick — you don’t even feel the radical, drastic transitions as it stands as one whole piece." 'Sleep On Me' is the last single to complete her debut EP of the same name, following on from the project's first taste, 'DIE 4 U', a subversive pop song self-uploaded to YouTube in late 2019 (due to the unavailability of Spotify and other DSPs in her home country of Georgia) and its follow-up 'RUN'.  Shortly after first sharing 'DIE 4 U', Creams performed the song at a MATERIEL fashion house show and caught the eye and ear of i-D and NME.  After cementing her role as a rising fashion and cultural icon and pillar of the Georgian music community, Creams, aka Natia Chichinadze, is now ready to introduce her full vision to the whole world. Her music is full of traps, each song a Pandora's Box with lyrics and melodies born from myths, dreams, and literary ideas; sensory-stimulating music that sounds like “cotton candy,” but with far deeper heart notes. Citing inspiration from an eclectic range of influences, Joni Mitchell, Captain Beefheart, FKA Twigs, Quentin Tarantino, the work of 14th-century novelist Giovanni Bocaccio and the anonymous, beautiful landscapes and endless horizons of her hometown, Creams says her creativity comes from instinct: her gut “never fails." Emerging from Georgia, a small country fuelled by geopolitical tensions on the borders of Europe and Asia, Creams speaks four different languages and insists that the circumstances of her generation prepared her for battle, using her music to convey youth-led tales of disenfranchisement and disillusionment. Driving every aspect of the songwriting process is also paramount to Creams’ creative output. She writes, plays, and produces all of the records herself from concept to master, and spends her spare hours hacking plugins and tirelessly hustling to make these records come to life. Through her prism, soundwaves become refracted colors, lyrics are dark mantras and her ethereal attitude glides above celestial melodies and lightweight beats. It's music that bores deep into the skull and sticks to skin like sweet, gluey glitter. Sleep On Me EP by Creams is out now, buy/stream it here. JUAN WAUTERS Releases new single & video ‘Real (With Mac DeMarco)’ Announces new album Real Life Situations

Where are you currently based? Gold Coast, Australia. How did you first start playing music? I first picked up a guitar in grade 4. I had just moved schools and pretty much everyone I wanted to be friends with played in a band together. I actually started playing bass first because they needed one for the band - but before long migrated to a 6 string. I began writing songs for the band and it pretty much went from there. What’s been happening recently and how has your Covid experience been so far? I feel pretty guilty about this answer, but it has literally been an excuse for me to hermit in my studio and make music all day every day. It sucks that live shows had a massive break, but we’re getting back into it now. You’ve teamed up with Namaste with your new single ‘OneNotTwo’; how did you  come to work together? Namaste reached out to me after hearing one of my tracks on TripleJ Unearthed and sent me a few beats. They were obviously talented producers so I started sending them every song I would write. They heard the chords for OneNotTwo and instantly jumped on board. What influenced the sound and songwriting for this track? I’d be lying if I said anything other than my fiance. The song is pretty much the story of how we met, and a sticky situation that came up super early in our relationship.  How did the creative/songwriting process take place? I wrote the full story out one night, then spent probably the next 2 months going back and forth with Namaste tweaking lyrics. We added instruments, took them out again, fiddled with structure, changed melodies etc. but we finally decided to keep it as simple as possible, and let the story of the song do the talking. Where and when did you record/produce/master and who with? Hahah, I recorded the vocals in my closet with a mattress flipped up against the wall, in an attempt to mute out all the cars that were driving by. Guitars were literally just plugged straight into a Scarlett Solo that I bought from a Cash Converters for $80. Quality investment.  What programs/instruments did you use? FL Studio till death. Not 100% sure on what Namaste uses, but they definitely have secret sauce that they dribble on everything to make it sound fucking mint. They pretty much took my ratchet demo and converted into what it is now. What did you find most challenging and rewarding throughout the process of creating OneNotTwo? Honestly, getting everything ready in time. I set a ridiculous timeframe to get it sorted by and it was an absolute miracle it worked out. Please tell us about your goal to release a new track each month of this year? I just want to give more music to the people who have been supporting me. I think albums are the ideal way to consume music, and it’s definitely my preferred way to listen - but I just don’t feel I have the resources to properly promote an entire album of songs. When, say Drake, drops an album, he can tour the world for 6 months to a year promoting it. I cannot! Also, at this point in my career, I’m still figuring out my sound (and my life) and can’t pinpoint a musical sonic that I can stick to for an entire album. I want to just put out my favourite songs month by month, and see what happens. Who are you listening to at the moment? I listen to a lot of different music, but Anderson .Paak, Frank Ocean, J.Cole, Kendrick, James Brown, Earth, Wind & Fire, Doja Cat, Dua Lipa, JK-47, Dave; are all in my recently played. What do you like to do away from music? I fucking love cooking, I find it very similar to making music - in a weird way. Making handmade pasta, pizza, bao buns etc; I just love making dough ahah. I also love skateboarding and have been doing that since I was like 14 too. What’s planned for 2021? I’m fully independent and plan on staying that way, so this year I want to make as much music as I can, and learn as much as I can from every release. I’m bound to make mistakes but that’s all part of it. Favourite food and place to hangout? I make a pretty skitz pizza? So I would probably just want to eat that in my little apartment with my girl. Steve Aoki Teams Up With Willy William, Sean Paul, El Alfa, Sfera Ebbasta and Play-N-Skillz For His New Single ‘Mambo’

Where are you currently based? Hello. I live in Berlin, already my whole life. What's been happening recently and how has your Covid/Isolation experience been so far? In 2020 I was pretty busy releasing my music. There was the double 12" AI on CLIKNO, then Post Techno Crisis on Goldmin Music, two EPs with my project rand with pianist Jan Gerdes, then my album Drones & Tones For The Free II under my alias Anomali and various podcasts, the last one, Yarncast072, came out just before Christmas. I also re-released seven previous EPs and albums on my own Bandcamp page. And of course, I've been spending time making new music. I haven't felt lonely at all, although I've reduced my contacts extremely. I have to say that I live together with many people in a cool house in the middle of Berlin. That turned out to be an advantage in a situation like this. Living alone on my own is not my thing anyway. Your new EP Muaco is out now on CLIKNO, what influenced the sound and songwriting? Last year I read the book "Jaki Liebezeit" about the former Can drummer, which explains his rhythm system. Without being too theoretical, I adopted it intuitively and composed a number of percussive layers to achieve that mesmerizing sensation of polyrhythm that we also know from gamelan and a lot of African music. The pulse and flow were important. Another influence is Burnt Friedman, who also worked with Jaki Liebezeit, and Fela Kuti, but also drone music and techno a la Voices From the Lake, for example. Sonically, there are no influences other than the sound of the acoustic guitar itself. The acoustic feel was a premise. How did you go about writing the EP? I didn't conceive the EP. I just had the idea to make a techno track with sounds of my acoustic guitar, that's the title track Muaco, which is just a short name for MUsic Against COrona. I had so much fun with the samples that I ended up making three tracks. I wanted to release them as an EP right away, but pushed back the release date since the last year was already filled with releases. Now it feels great to launch with the Muaco EP in 2021, even during another lockdown period. What programs/equipment did you use? First, there's my Höfner acoustic guitar, which I simply recorded with a Sure SM 58 microphone. All the rest - processing, sound design, arrangement and mixing - was done in Ableton Live and with the help of several plug-ins. Where and when did you record/produce/master? The complete music was recorded and produced at home. The mastering was done by Sebastian Mehl, a good friend with great mastering skills. Did you work with anybody else during the creation of Muaco? Nope Please describe your creative process and why you create music? The creative process usually starts with a recording of real sounds from the real world or I dig into my archive of those recordings. It's more fun to start with something fresh and new, it triggers my curiosity about what I can do with it. The samples are imported into my computer and Ableton Live, where I assemble, disassemble, cut, tweak, modulate, pitch, stretch the material until I get stuck on a particular sound or segment. That might be a rhythmic or melodic phrase or just a textural sound. I'm looking for emotional content, at least for me. From there I add and explore, playing around with the sound clips until I have an idea of the track. I then do the arrangement live in a recording session. I can't answer the other question of why I make music. It's an inner urge that drives me to do it. I can't live without making music. I'm a sound nerd and fascinated by the impact that sound and music have and how music connects. I'm also very amused when I see people dancing to my music because I know how I created it and it might just be a random noise or a very childish, dubious instrument or just an object that I like the sound of. Has Covid resulted in more webstreams/home-clubbing/listening? Yeah, people are listening to more music at home now, or on their headphones on their walk or way to work. Home clubbing sounds kind of sexy to me. It's something new to explore. I mean, are people really dancing at home? Possibly. I do, I can't wait for the clubs to open! Web streams are very welcome, of course. There are way too many, I think. Even when Facebook launched with its livestream feature before Covid19, I quickly got bored of webstreams. It's not just about the music or the sound anymore, there should be a narrative and a reason to do a stream and the images should reinforce that. It's a new form of entertainment. There are interesting projects on the way. For example, what the CTM Festival is doing right now. What has been motivating you in the last year or so with no live shows to play? I lacked a bit of motivation, the pressure to produce. But as I mentioned before, last year I focused on releasing and re-releasing. But I know that one day there will be parties again and it's better to be prepared. For the Muaco EP, the motivation actually came from picking up the guitar and recording some new acoustic sounds. The idea was still to produce some groovy tracks, but with a different sound concept. So I was curious how it would sound in the end and if it might work. How do you think Covid has changed the path of music culture? Well, apart from the crushing of any performance, I feel that many producers who felt trapped in a production process have now allowed themselves to break out and be more explorative and creative. I hope and wish that electronic music and music in general will become more free from all these commercial rules and guidelines. There is a great opportunity for music. After Covid, it won't be the same anymore. What do you have planned post Covid? Kitchenparty is the first thing that comes to my mind. It's a private event I usually host once or twice a year in my kitchen, more or less an informal gathering with friends and guests. We have DJs, live acts and visuals and usually international guests. The next one will be remembered for a long time. I also want to travel again, somewhere to get out and discover new places. I'm also curious where my next booking will take me. What do you like to do away from music? I'm quite interested in cultural things, art exhibitions, performances, concerts and so on.  During the lockdown, a lot more happens on the net now, so I try to balance my time on the computer with going to the river and lakes and woods with someone, and I love hanging out with my girlfriend. Who are you listening to at the moment? Last year I discovered the London label Well Street Records. I'm very excited about that. I've never heard the names of their artists, but I just love the music.Lately I've been listening a lot to Laurine Frost's album Lena, Kraftwerk's Autobahn, Talking Heads' Remain in Light, Bohren & the Club of Gore's Geisterfaust, Wang Inc.'s Mediterraneo EP and in between music from Hubble, Steevio, Steve Reich, Burnt Friedman, Jan Jelinek, Villalobos....  ah, too many to mention.... I listen to a lot of music. Favourite food and place to hangout? My favorite way to spend time is at home or with my girlfriend and housemates. My other friends are getting the short end of the stick at the moment, but I hope that will change in the summer. My favorite food has to be fresh. I love raw vegetables, hummus, good bread, salad, fruits. Now in winter sometimes a hot soup.

“The singer Son Little has a lithely expressive voice that can locate forgiveness, sorrow, and ecstasy in even the most hackneyed turns of phrase.” — The New Yorker “A breath of alternative air in a genre that’s often too slock and too overproduced.” - Relix "Little’s exercise in resilience resulted in something that sounds and feels as fresh as it is.” - No Depression Son Little has shared his latest single “Phantom Killer”; listen and watch the song’s dusky new lyric video HERE. Auto-tuned vocals, acoustic guitar & lofi-percussion on the track show Son Little’s progress in a new musical direction. Born Aaron Earl Livingston, Little first came to international prominence with his self-titled debut which was released in 2015 on ANTI- Records. While Little’s collaborations with The Roots and RJD2 had already helped him make a name for himself by that point in his adopted hometown of Philadelphia, critics on both sides of the pond were quick to recognise the unique power of Little’s solo recordings, which stripped the past for parts that could be reconstituted into something wholly new and original. NPR hailed Little’s “impeccably crafted songs” as “honest and unpretentious,” while The Independent proclaimed him “a formidable talent,” and Vice declared that he was “dissolving the barrier between R&B and rock 'n' roll one tearjerker at a time.” Never one to rest on his laurels, Little showed off his production chops the following year, earning a GRAMMY Award for his work helming Mavis Staples’ acclaimed ‘See That My Grave Is Kept Clean,’ and in 2017, he released a critically lauded sophomore album, New Magic, which Paste said “did for the blues what Sharon Jones did for soul music.” In order to create his 2020 album aloha, Little began writing and assembling album demos in Petaluma, California. However, after his hard drive fried and he lost nearly a dozen detailed demos, he was forced to begin with a blank slate, leading him to write aloha in only eight days at a tiny house and its adjacent barn. The entire project was an exercise in letting go, in ceding control, in surrendering to fate. “Losing all that material felt like a nightmare at the time, but I’ve since learned to see it as an opportunity,” he reflects. “If I hadn’t lost all those songs, I never would have written all the new stuff that became aloha. Letting go can be a scary prospect,” he added. “But there’s beauty in it, too. Everything you leave behind opens up space for something new in your life.”

Norma Jean Martine follows one of the biggest hits of 2020 with yet another huge tune. This track is so infectious, one listen and you will be humming the chorus all day. This time the happy vibes of ‘Head Shoulder Knees and Toes’ are replaced by an ever so fitting sentiment of people lost, that still manages to lift the heart. The original version is a beautiful slice of deep-pop music while Dutch club legend MOTi transforms it into a punchy main room sad banger that will turn kitchens into nightclubs all year long. MOTi delivers one of his typically effervescent club reworkings, beginning with a simple arrangement where dramatic synth hits blast over looping keys. The beat picks up, and fist-pumping piano chords greet us in the build-up. He mashes and carves her vocals for the drop as chunky house beats and fierce bass blasts drop in, bringing in the chorus refrain in glorious fashion and keeping the beat rolling into the second verse. The second break pushes the track into overdrive, with an immensely satisfying final drop thereafter. “Visiting Hours is a song that’s very dear to my heart because it was written for my very close life long friend who passed away a few years ago. Even though the verses are very specific to my friend and I, the chorus is very universal in terms of grief and loss. I wrote it for my friend, but I sang it at my brother’s funeral last year, and it brought me and so many others comfort when I sang it live. In a time where there has been so much unprecedented loss, I feel this song will really connect with people, and hopefully bring some comfort.” says Norma Jean Martine. The 3-track EP is completed with a breathtaking, stripped-back cover version of The Beatles’ ‘Hey Jude’ like you’ve never heard it before. Almost an acapella version, her fragile, emotion-drenched delivery is bolstered only by the subtlest of atmospheric, ambient sounds, with the gentlest of acoustic guitars and harmonies added in for the finale. Norma recorded the cover as a tribute to her father’s late cousin whom she was very close with and sadly passed away recently. “Despite my greatest efforts, I still broke down halfway through the song, but I left it in because it was real and a moment in time. I’m not sure what they originally intended with the lyrics, but lines like “take a sad song, and make it better” felt so relevant in the moment and brought me so much comfort.” says Norma Jean Martine on her cover of The Beatles’ original. Her skeletal version of the track brings out the dramatic beauty of the song and perfectly fits the ‘Visiting Hours’ EP. About Norma Jean Martine Alt-pop talent Norma Jean Martine is the superstar vocalist with the recognizable husky, powerhouse voice and strong songwriting skills. Exploring the indie space with her own releases and embracing the dancefloors with collaborations, she’s touching a global audience: ‘When We Were Young’ with Lost Kings amassed 90M streams and gained praise from the US to Asia and has a European hit under her belt with last year’s ‘Head Shoulder Knees And Toes’ for which she wrote the catchy and well-known lyrics, a collaboration with Parisian dance duo Ofenbach and the German producers Quarterhead, racking up over 150M streams in less than a year and breaking a personal record with 1M streams a day. With over 10 million monthly listeners, the charts and streaming results are undeniable: when Norma touches a song, magic happens. About MOTi Amsterdam based and world-renown music producer MOTi has collaborated with multi-platinum artists like Ty Dolla $ign & Wizkid and dance legends Tiësto, Major Lazer & Martin Garrix. MOTi’s name spanned with Beatport’s #1 hit ‘Virus’ which hit platinum status with EDM sensation Martin Garrix. Pushing Daizies Duo Makes Their Emotive Bass Debut With "Want It To End" Single on Dim Mak Records

Steve Aoki’s Dim Mak releases first ever single of new enigmatic duo Pushing Daizies (out now)

R3HAB once again crosses genres and cultures by joining forces with Miami rapper Smokepurpp and Russian TikTok star Rakhim for a multi-lingual single "Fendi," originally a viral on TikTok, which positions itself as one of R3HAB’s most daring productions yet. Opening with a hard-hitting and rhythmic tempo, the track first ventures into the realm of hip-hop influences with rap lyrics and the title's catchy vocal hook. Fans will recognize the subtle but confident shift to R3HAB's signature electronic bass style in the second verse as a slapping bassline takes over. Smokepurpp and Rakhim trade off vocal duties in both English and Rakhim's native Russian language, making "Fendi" full of surprises to keep listeners on their toes. The story behind the song started with a post on R3HAB’s Instagram account calling on Smokepurpp to team up for a rework. The response came quickly from the American rapper, who was more than happy to jump on board. If this new release is any indication of what 2021 has in store for R3HAB, we can't wait to hear more! "I'm always keen on working with artists from different music cultures and learning from them. It was a real blast working with Rakhim and Smokepurpp, who are really talented and both pioneers in their fields. What we came up with feels modern and breaks down so many genre barriers." - R3HAB "When I created the track ‘Fendi,’ my goal was to make it a worldwide hit. And when R3HAB and Smokepurpp offered me a feat, I realized that this was another step towards my goal. I'm sure that collaboration with such cool artists will give "Fendi" its second life and take it to the next level. You're gonna love it." - Rakhim "I've been planning a lot of EDM/house type music for 2021, and I'm excited that one of the first drops was with R3HAB & that we were able to collab with Rakhim. I have a ton of Russian & Eastern European fans, and it's dope to get to do so many collabs with artists over there. Hopefully, we'll all be back on the road to perform this one soon." - Smokepurpp Dutch/Moroccan DJ and producer Fadil El Ghoul, better known as R3HAB, has been trailblazing his way through dance music for the better part of the last decade. From his breakthrough hit remix of Afrojack, Pitbull and Ne-Yo's "Give Me Everything" to his dance anthems, such as "All Around The World (La La La)" and "Lullaby," which have collectively amassed over 600M streams, to his collaborations with the likes of ZAYN, Andy Grammer, Sofia Carson, Timmy Trumpet and more, R3HAB has proven to be one of the most talented and forward-thinking artists in the game. He partnered with Spotify and GATTÜSO to create the first-ever official "mint" single release. In 2016 he founded his label CYB3RPVNK, which passed one billion streams on its catalog within the first two years since its inception. R3HAB himself continues to evolve and diversify his sound by working with a variety of artists around the globe, experimenting with everything from hip-hop to pop through his collaborations. With his combination of innate artistry and innovative attitude, in 2021 R3HAB is continuing his journey among electronic music's elite. Rakhim Abramov is a young hip-hop performer who, in half a year of his musical career, has released seven tracks under the name Rakhim, two of which have become hits throughout Russia and the CIS. Also, success came from America and Europe through TikTok and the top charts on Spotify and Apple Music. Rakhim's work is different from all other artists, and this allows him to rapidly increase a new audience and win the hearts of listeners. Omar Jeffery Pineiro, known professionally as Smokepurpp, is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer. Originally a record producer, Pineiro later found success on the audio distribution platform Soundcloud, which resulted in a joint venture record deal with Alamo Records and Interscope Records. Next, Pineiro released his commercial debut single, "Audi." The single soon became his biggest song with over 78 million plays on SoundCloud and 173 million streams on Spotify. It was followed by a release of his debut commercial mixtape Deadstar, including features from artists such as Chief Keef, Juicy J, and Travis Scott. The mixtape peaked at number 42 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. In 2018 Smokepurpp released two singles from the then-forthcoming "Bless Yo Trap" mixtape called "123" and "Do Not Disturb", the latter of which features Lil Yachty and Offset from Migos.

ALISON WONDERLAND & VALENTINO KHAN RELEASE OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO FOR ‘ANYTHING’

The Victorian Government and the National Gallery of Victoria today launched a design competition to select an Australian architectural team to design the new purpose-built, twenty-first century gallery, NGV Contemporary. Located at 77 Southbank Boulevard, Melbourne, the new gallery will be dedicated to showcasing contemporary art, design, fashion and architecture of local, national and international significance in the heart of a transformed Melbourne Arts Precinct. Once completed, the gallery will span 30,000 square metres, making it the largest public gallery of contemporary art and design in Australia. Building on the growth in audiences attending ground-breaking exhibitions and installations of contemporary art, design and architecture, NGV Contemporary will elevate Melbourne’s reputation as a thriving and dynamic destination for art, design and architecture in our region. The NGV Contemporary Design Competition seeks visionary, sustainable and dynamic design approaches for a landmark building that celebrates the central role of art and design in contemporary life and culture. In an unprecedented move for a competition of this scale and civic profile, eligibility to enter the competition is open exclusively to Australian architectural teams, offering an unparalleled platform to showcase Australia’s world-leading design and architecture industries. NGV Contemporary will connect to the Southbank neighbourhood and St Kilda Road through an expansive 18,000 square metres of new elevated public gardens. In turn, the NGV Contemporary Design Competition presents an extraordinary city-changing opportunity to envision the ways in which NGV Contemporary will connect architecturally to the wider Melbourne Arts Precinct and unite Melbourne’s creative heart, joining north to south, and reimagining the very fabric of the city. Registration for the NGV Contemporary Design Competition is now open for Australian Architects, Architectural Companies and Architectural Partnerships. Registration is a prerequisite to participating in the competition. Collaborative and multidisciplinary teams with a breadth of experience, knowledge and skills are strongly encouraged to apply. The Hon. Daniel Andrews, Premier of Victoria, said: ‘NGV Contemporary will be an Australian-designed global icon. In its design, construction, operations, exhibitions and programs, the gallery will create thousands of local jobs and boost our economic recovery.’ Minister for Creative Industries, Danny Pearson, said: ‘This landmark project offers an extraordinary opportunity for Victoria and Australia’s architectural community to shape our creative state for decades to come.’ Janet Whiting AM, President, Council of Trustees, National Gallery of Victoria, said: ‘This state-of-the-art gallery will be a major drawcard for millions of visitors from across Victoria, Australia and the world. The Australian designed and built NGV Contemporary will be a legacy-making Victorian architectural landmark that will become a must-see cultural destination on the itineraries of visitors to our city.’ Tony Ellwood AM, Director, National Gallery of Victoria and NGV Contemporary Design Competition Jury member, said: ‘NGV Contemporary will be a thriving hub for local, national and international design and architecture, presented alongside significant examples of contemporary art, fashion and performance. It is therefore only fitting that NGV Contemporary will be designed and built by an Australian design and architecture team. This design competition presents an unprecedented opportunity to create a building of architectural significance that will become part of the fabric of our state and cultural identity.’ Corbett Lyon, NGV Trustee and Chair, NGV Contemporary Design Competition Jury, said: ‘Australian architecture and design is of international repute and the work of its practitioners is celebrated world-wide. This competition will showcase the vibrancy and dynamism that fuels Australian design and architecture, as well as the ethos of collaboration that is ingrained into our practices and studios. Architecturally, NGV Contemporary will have an indelible impact on the shape of our city, and through this major competition will also have an equally important and long-lasting impact on our local design and architecture industry.’ Victorian Government Architect and NGV Contemporary Design Competition Jury member, Jill Garner AM LFRAIA said: ‘NGV Contemporary presents an unprecedented and prestigious acknowledgment of Australian architectural excellence. It will undoubtedly be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to create a lasting cultural legacy for the state of Victoria.’ Following the registration period, there will be an Expression of Interest followed by a two-stage design competition. A high-profile jury of Australian and international architecture and design experts will assess competing designs and nominate the design teams that can deliver a global vision for NGV Contemporary. The Jury includes Corbett Lyon, NGV Trustee and Director, Lyons Architecture (Jury Chair), Tony Ellwood AM, Director, NGV and Jill Garner AM, Victorian Government Architect and Director, Garner Davis Architects. The full NGV Contemporary Design Competition Jury will be announced at the opening of the Expression of Interest. The design for the new gallery must consider the function and flexibility required in order to display a diverse range of contemporary art and design; the visitor experience and how they will encounter the works on display as they navigate the building; and the gallery’s connection to the wider community, including the Melbourne Arts Precinct, the Southbank neighbourhood and the wider city. In 2021 CLIKNO celebrates its 5th anniversary and presents with its 10th release a very special acoustic techno EP from Dr.Nojoke entitled “Muaco". Muaco stands for Music against Corona and deals with the clubless time we are all experiencing. When Dr.Nojoke picked up his Höfner acoustic guitar during the lockdown in spring he was looking for new inspirations. The recordings led to three brilliant poly-rhythmical tracks for a special trip far off the beaten path. Dr.Nojoke suggests his EP as much as a way for home-clubbing as well as a listening experience. We don´t even know, if it is techno or what, but as mostly all parts were created with acoustic guitar you may file it under acoustic techno or guitar techno. We think it is just great groovy music - pulsating, hypnotic, danceable, kraut-ish, freaky - that should be played everywhere.

Dr.Nojoke releases an acoustic techno EP from the Corona era on CLIKNO.

Photo Credit: Pooneh Ghana Download Hi-Res Image Tune-Yards announce details of their fifth studio album, sketchy. The 11-track record, which includes last year’s single ‘nowhere, man’, will be released on 26 March 2021. Today, Merrill Garbus and Nate Brenner release another preview from sketchy., the grounding single ‘hold yourself.’ and its accompanying animated video directed by Basa Studio. Beneath the layered sounds of ‘hold yourself.’ lies Garbus’ most explicit lyrics she’s ever written; a clear-eyed moment of grief and simmering rage that builds from the song’s calming introduction to its explosive culmination. “This song is about feeling really betrayed, by my parents’ generation, and at the same time, really seeing how we are betraying the future,” Garbus explains. Tune-Yards’ last release I can feel you creep into my private life, was a self-reflexive question mark at the end of a decade of outspoken, polyphonic indie music. From 2009 to 2018, Tune-Yards (both Merrill and her partner and collaborator Nate Brenner) released four critically acclaimed albums, travelled the world relentlessly to play live shows, and composed the psychedelic score to Boots Riley's surrealist cinematic masterpiece Sorry To Bother You. "We had really been non-stop hustling," Merrill reflects. "And when we're hustling, we're complicit in all of the systems that I really don't believe in." Interrogating these systems and her role within them had left Merrill feeling heavy with grief and lost about how to move forward. The duo pressed on, inspired by the Beastie Boys Book and Questlove’s Creative Quest, and began jamming daily for hours in their home rehearsal studio “like athletes”. They ditched computer screens for live instruments (Merrill on drums, Nate on bass) and before long full songs started to emerge. Unlike the lyrical introspection of previous outing I can feel you..., on sketchy. Merrill balances self-inspection and reflection with bombastic rallying cries, reminiscent of the furious tones of early days Tune-Yards. The result is a colourful and joyous record with lyrics that cut to the bone. "I started remembering that people come to us to be entertained, to move, to feel joy. And together, I think, we can wake up.” sketchy. will be available digitally, and on CD, on yellow opaque, translucent blue and standard black vinyl on 26 March. AIRWAVES FESTIVAL ANNOUNCE MOVE TO ONE DAY EVENT SATURDAY 27 MARCH Paces also added to lineup They say change is as good as a holiday and within weeks from announcing a reschedule to March due to Queensland border restrictions, the Airwaves Festival commander has instructed her cabin crew to roll the two-day adventure into a one day out of this world escape, set for lift off on Saturday 27 March.  Punters will now get far more bang for their buck, with eleven acts including Sneaky Sound System, The Beautiful Girls and Ash Grunwald performing at the one event.  Earning a name for his wild live shows, Gold Coast musician Paces has also been added to the bill and will be pouring out his creative energy on their shuttle deck. It took months of deliberation and negotiation to secure the festival’s initial line-up and with a number of key supporting artists now unable to shift to the new dates due to other commitments, the one day reshuffle made the most sense. “There are countless amazing acts who could’ve slot in to fulfil our preferred two day program, but getting the recipe right is a timely process”, said Event Director, Cindy Jensen. The team recommenced negotiations, but with such an outpour of questions from all involved they soon realised the need to provide surety to the already engaged talent and festival fans sooner than later. “I’m proud of our team for facing the ongoing hurdles with determination and we thank everyone for their ongoing support and understanding”! The Airwaves team guarantee the killer line-up will make for an unforgettable live music experience and as Sneaky Sound System’s first release for the decade is titled, they want everyone to “Tell The World”! How did you first start playing music? I’ve played guitar & piano since I was a child, played in many different bands throughout my teens before discovering EDM. Your new single 'Enemy' is out now, what influenced the sound and songwriting & How did you go about writing Enemy with Shane Told of Silverstein who features on the track, how did this come about and how was the experience? I’ve been doing the whole rock/metal EDM crossover thing for a while now (usually on the more heavier side) but since the lack of shows over the current year, I’ve been exploring the more melodic side of things. I originally wrote enemy using a Silverstein Acapella as a place holder and it worked too perfectly, so then I hit up Shane to see if he’d be down to write some original vocals for the tune and he was super into the idea and so easy to work with! Where and when did you record/produce/master and who with? I do everything myself from my home studio & Shane recorded his vocals in his home studio. Enemy mashes up EDM with Heavy sounds, how did this mash come to be? That’s the PhaseOne sound. Once I discovered EDM I was still very much into writing metal too, so figured why not combine them both haha. What programs/equipment did you use? I use ableton. For synths on this song I used the VST Serum & a guitar simulator synth called Heavier7strings. What do you like to do away from music? I like music that catches me off guard, I love obscure time signatures and frequent changes. Nerdy music basically haha, but I also thrive on the energy that heavy music brings. Who are you listening to at the moment? Northlane. Periphery. Polyphia. Fat Freddys Drop. What's planned for 2021? At the moment just taking advantage of some actual shows out here in Aus. Music wise, I plan on releasing a lot more melodic music and another EP at some point in the coming months.

THE SMITH STREET BAND RELEASE NEW MUSIC & ANNOUNCE UNPLUGGED TOUR

Junior Jack & Pat BDS deliver a cinematically futuristic, heroic music video for their melodic house heater ‘Tecky Dream’. Directed by Mike Anderson and Ryan Dickie, they create an analogue of the last year using video game engines and motion caption. Released in 2020 on Junior Jack & Pat BDS’ own Adesso Music imprint, ‘Tecky Dream’ instigates tension and rising energy by integrating slow building synths and elevating bass tones. The track has a rich, cinematic feel, driving intensity which is captured in the video set to be released today. Following a narrative of a hero in a relentless, escalating chase scene the video corresponds with the times we find ourselves in; charging forward, trying to stay alive and well, with ever-changing threats nipping at our heels. “The hero has a past, and the story has an ending, but for these four minutes, the intensity of the sequence is all that matters. The video is dream-like, with unanswered questions and mysteries locked inside the narrative.” Mike Anderson & Ryan Dickie Inspired by cut scenes and trailers for AAA video games, Junior Jack & Pat BDS bring us a futuristic animated apocalyptic video for ‘Tecky Dream’ filled with ceaseless energy.  “Combining a video game development pipeline with a cinematic track, we built a project that pushed the boundaries of our practice.  We’ve been collaborating on different projects for ten years, and we’re always searching for ways to reinvent our approach, always trying to find something new.  For us, ‘Tecky Dream’ opened up a high-energy, collaborative approach to storytelling that was a perfect fit for the project.” Mike Anderson & Ryan Dickie Director information: Director, writer and animator Mike Anderson has been championed across the board with UKMVA Nomination "Best Pop Video", Webby Nominated, Top 25 New Faces of Independent Film, 2017, 2 Cannes Lion YDA Awards, 2017, Vimeo Best of 2017 (The Giant) , Vimeo Staff Pick Premiere (The Giant) and 8 Vimeo Staff Picks.. also, to name a few.
