WOMEN IN MUSIC EMPOWERMENT DAY ANNOUNCES 2017 LINEUP
Women in Music Empowerment Day returns in 2017, with local Sydney crews Deeper Than House,Stayfly Sydney, Yeah The Girls, Coven Presents and Honey coming together to curate an all-day, inclusive live music event on September 24. Taking over Miss Peaches in Newtown, the day will celebrate and empower women, non-binary and minority peoples in our diverse music community, and provide a safe environment to network with like-minded colleagues, all while raising money for The Girls Refuge.

Live music and art will be at the forefront of Women in Music Empowerment Day, with a female-powered lineup featuring artists including SCABZ, Clueless, Val York, SPORTS, Ines, Jannah Beth and more, plus an interactive panel comprised of special guests ALPHAMAMA, FlexMami, Poppy Reid, Rachel Maria Cox and Kailei Ginman to discuss industry challenges and strategies to end gender discrimination.
Market stalls on the day will showcase clothing, jewellery, art and more from wom*n in the local community, including Mami Watta Collections, Haus of Dizzy, Karameleon and BadGirl Garden, plus merchandise from our local girl gangs for attendees to show their support. Additionally, there will be a raffle on the day to raise funds for The Girls Refuge with foodie, fashion and lifestyle prizes up for grabs.
All proceeds raised from Women in Music Empowerment Day will be donated to The Girls Refuge, a supportive, home-like environment for young wom*n who are homeless or at risk of homelessness due to family breakdown, domestic violence, trauma, mental health issues and misuse of drugs and alcohol.
