White Room have today shared the visuals for Twisted Celebration, taken from their double EP Eightout now via Deltasonic Records (The Coral, The Vryll Society).
Having spent 2017 nestled atop a wave of increasing attention with their radiant, self-aware brand of psych rock, the enigmatic five-piece have gently crept into indie music’s nucleus, meshing together the sound of British sixties guitar pop with more contemporary influences such as Temples and Pond. They’ve even attracted praise from the legendaryPaul Weller: “They just get better and better, and Twisted Celebration is one of the best things they’ve done so far”.
Discussing the visuals for Twisted, shot on an original Victoria era carousel on the Brighton seafront dating from 1888, frontman Jake Smallwood stated: “The constantly ramped up spinning of the carousel, the saturated colours and the lights, all pull together to create a perpetual mad-land, in which we are willingly trapped, descending further into insanity’s grip”.
With their double EP Eight out now and their biggest UK headline shows to date inLondon (16th) and Brighton (15th) next week, the quintet’s frenetic live show is sure to propel them to the forefront of the indie landscape in 2018.
