We’ll be presenting the tight rap, heartbreaking harmonies and smooth flow of Kwasi on the Yah’s bandstand Friday July 26th!

Cultivating an artist identity that transcends the limits of the music industry has only been done by the greats. The ones who leave this world with a legacy of originality and fearless innovation. It takes courage to fully immerse yourself in your passion, embrace your quirks and integrate your raw emotional self into your work. It is this courage that Melbourne artist Kwasi has in spades, and the courage that sees him consistently willing to pursue an idea well beyond the constraints of ‘the norm.’ This club show is on the back of his recent DUMB party, and a ticket to this show entitles you to stick around and party ’til 5AM.

Proudly, we’ll be presenting the debut Melbourne club show for a former Triple J Unearthed “feature artist of the week” in Promise. He’s already appeared live at festival dates for Falls and Party in the Paddock along with having his collaboration with Close Counters on single “Fluctuation” as well as his own single “Conscious Thoughts” spun across Triple J and Unearthed radio.

Sunscreen celebrate the release of their new single ‘High Over Love’ (out 27 June via Spunk! Records) with a party at Yah Yahs – July 27th!

On High Over Love, Sunscreen reckon with a questionable romance through driving guitar riffs and frontwoman Sarah Sykes’ commanding, dynamic voice. “Society’s idealisation of being in love can often convince us we are “in love” when actually we are not – and when the reality is closer to unhealthy dependence, or simply a fear of being alone” Sarah says of the track. “The song shines light on this common experience.”

The single is the first taste of their forthcoming EP, to be released late August via Spunk! Records.

And unlike most band rooms, Yah Yah’s is open ’til 5AM so you can kick on and party for no extra charge! A quality live music venue located at 99 Smith Street, in the Fitzroy postcode.
