What is your name and role within Vukovi?
Janine, front woman, glitter junkie, liability.
How did you start?
Was never something we set out to do deliberately. We all had our own paths which luckily happened to meet in the middle. The boys were in a band called Wolves before I joined with a guy singer but wasn’t working out so the drummer at the time contacted me on fb as we grew up together and knew I sung in school. He couldn’t have timed it better cos I was actually sacked from a band the week before for being a girl. He asked if I fancied coming along for a jam which I did and we all clicked instantly, got a few songs under our belts and about a month later one of our tunes got played on Radio 1. It was at that point we all kinda thought to ourselves “we can do this”.
Where are you based?
Glasgow, Scotland.
Please give an example of your music writing process?
For example our songs Animal and Ladida, I wrote the bones of themon garage band then would fire it over to the boys to inject some balls into them.
What are you working on right now?
Album 2….
We’re extremely busy this summer so gonna be pretty full on.
What is your gear setup?
What do you like to do outside of music and does it affect your music?
I’ve finally started my clothing range Bitchcrvft which is perfect for doing alongside the band and means I get to be creative all the time!

How would you describe your music genre?
Riff Pop.
Do you know any music theory?
I sat my grade 5 when I was 20 which is cool but didn’t contribute the creativity side of the band.
What are your plans for the future?
Take over the world.
How did you get into music?
I’ve always been creative and I’ve always subconsciously worked on having a better voice from a young age. Used to sit in my room for hours and sing along to Christina Aquilera, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey.
I tried the fight the creative urge to do music as a career by applying to do primary teaching at uni but every bone in my body told me no, it wasn’t my true calling.
