Umm, the new band from LA’s Stef Drootin and Chris Senseney, are thrilled to announce their debut album Double Worshipper, to be released on July 28. The duo, (who previously fronted Big Harp; Drootin has also played bass with She & Him and Bright Eyes), shared the news today along with their new single “I’m In Love.” Lenny Letter, who premiered the track, say, “A loud feedback noise gives way to a jangly melody that quickly burrowed through my ears and my heart and made me feel like a teenager listening to the Breeders for the first time.”
“I’m In Love” will appear on Double Worshipper, along with previously released tracks “Black Summer” and “Oh Yes No.” The album is available for pre-order now.

More on Umm:
A new project from Stefanie Drootin (The Good Life, Big Harp) and Chris Senseney (Big Harp), Umm finds the couple drawing inward, draping vintage harmonies and shards of fuzz over grounded, primitive rhythms and simple, aching pop melodies. Like the Everly Brothers and Suicide smoking cigarettes in bed and listening to the Breeders, but dual-gendered and neither naive nor pretentious. (Chris and Stef’s other project Big Harp has earned acclaim for releases on Saddle Creek, Fat Possum and Majestic Litter, ranging from literate folk to kaleidoscopic thrash-pop, as well as being lauded for their energetic live shows in the US and Europe.)
