The track serves up an earnest confession, delving into the consequences of emotional characteristics. Stebbings talks about the influence behind 'Show Me That You Care': “The lyrics from this song expose the selfish and stubborn traits in my personality. It’s hard to explain the feelings of withholding and denial that surface when I realise that some people really are better off without me. Especially when the situation is in deep uncertainty, due to lack of communication on both ends. Will they walk back into your life? Will they stay at arm’s length? Will they forget about you entirely? This song is about the emotions and confusion we sometimes feel, eliminating any chance of acting rationally, knowing someone you thought cared about you has well and truly moved on.” To coincide with the release, the band will play two shows at Crowbar Sydney and Narrabeen RSL supporting Aussie juggernauts British India, along with launch shows at Crows Nest Hotel in Sydney, and The Gasometer Upstairs in Melbourne. This continues on from a run of shows throughout August and September, including their ‘Thanks To You’ EP Launch at Sly Fox, which they sold out five weeks in advance, and a Metro Theatre support slot for American pop-punk heavyweights The Maine. Previous singles ‘What Could Have Been’ and ‘Thanks To You’ were widely embraced by the likes of Spotify, triple j, and triple j Unearthed who added both tracks to rotation. They have also received support from tastemaker blogs Savage Thrills, Music Feeds, The AU Review, Backyard Opera, Wickedd Childd, AAA Backstage, The Girls At The Rock Show (US), and Yack Magazine (UK). Since their inception, Down For Tomorrow have continually traversed the east coast of Australia, playing house parties, bars and all ages events.
