What is your name and role within the band?
Well, i am Timid Boy and I do everything about it 😉
How did you start?
I started a longtime ago, as a DJ in the 90’s. I was a teenager, I discovered the rave movement and felt in love with it. At 16 years my dream was clear : be a DJ. I started in my bedroom (thanks mom for supporting the big subbasses !), then step by step I played in bars, then in clubs.
I decided to take a pseudonym in the early 2000 when my career started to develop well. I wanna a pseudo, I thought it was cool as Ellen Allien, Miss Kittin or Plastikman did. Its like get a alter ego, another personage. I used to play for a friend who get a label name Timid Music. I tought it was cute, so i became Timid Boy !
One of my most imported gig for my early career was in 2003, I did my first Rex Club as warm-up for Ellen Allien, I was so stress, I could not slept the night before at all. But all was very good, then I became resident of her parties at Rex where I do my own resident party since some years now !

Please give an example of your music writing process?
Usually it starts with a simple idea : a melody, a rhythm idea. It could be for example a « classic argentian rhythm » that i wanna use in a house way, could be a sound of synthesizer that i really like, then i build with other ideas, step by step. Sometimes different options come in mind, so it could become at the end several tracks.
What are you working on right now?
Some new remixes for my label Time Has Changed, for Acumen, Mancerow or Lexlay, and several new demos for labels i use to work with as Saved (Nic Fanciulli), Sci+Tec (Dubfire), Material (Mihalis Safras label).
What is your gear setup ?
Ableton live with a lot of different vst and some hardware stuff. But i am not the most gear guy to be honest.
What do you like to do outside of music and does it affect your music?
Movies, see friends, see girl, have fun, have sex, have serious politic discussion, go to great restaurant, go to parties, enjoy life.
How would you describe your music genre?
Its all about groove for me. Between Apollonia for the music selection and Marco Carola for the way to play it.
Do you know any music theory?
I learn classic music piano for most then 10 years at conservatory.
What are your plans for the future?
I continue a great tour for the 10 years of my label Time Has Changed in magic venues as Rex Club, Pacha Barcelona, Gazgolder Moscow, Heart Ibiza, Katerblau Berlin… Also included US & south America tour (one part of the world where I prefer play, specially in Argentina & Mexico).
Unfortunaly nothing is planned in Australia, I really hope we could fix something it’s a dream for me to come & play there J.
How did you get into music?
My parents are big music fan. I remember we listened a lot of pop music when I wzs a child, specially The Beach Boys, Beatles, Pink Floyd…
What are you listening to at the moment?
A bit of everything, mostly not electronic music (I need to keep my ears open to every kind of music), the soundtrack of the great TV series “Master of None” is close to perfection.
Who are your top 5 influences and icons?
The Cure when I was child, Plastikman, Jeff Mills & Aphex Twin when I discover electronic music. Derrick Carter is the one who made me love house music.
When are you playing next?
A lot of gig are coming in Ibiza, Germany, France, Argentina, Brazil…
