Since starting his career in the early nineties, Damon Jee has followed an unconventional path towards booming a globally renowned DJ. To date, his releases have found a home on a considerable array of labels showcasing the length of his musical prowess. The last two years, however, has seen a surge in his profile, no doubt due to the simplicity his productions display. His vast discography is home to numerous go-to weapons for many DJs, the sort of tracks that can ignite a flagging dancefloor.
Last year his remix of Pardon Moi’s ‘Power To The People’ was considered by many DJs as one of that year’s biggest club tracks. But it was his recent Beatport-charting release on Jennifer Cardini’s Correspondant records which introduced him to a whole new audience. Further online videos showing artists such as Maceo Plex and Carl Cox rinsing his tracks to thousands of people added to the mounting interest in Damon Jee. No doubt his upcoming debut Australian tour will be the first of many to come.
Damon Jee is from the city Paris, located in France. His big passion for electronic music started in the early 90’s, when he just discovered this new exciting sound that sweeps him away. Going clubbing in the weekends and collecting music that he loved just pushed him to the next level to become a professional DJ. And at the beginning of the year 2000, he became the resident of the well-known club ‘Sala Pagoa’, playing alongside respected DJ’s such as Sven Vath, Richie Hawtin, Ellen Allien, Kiki, Marco Carola, Oxia, Chloé to name a few. Up next Damon Jee felt that he need to express his thoughts and ideas he had inside the head and trying to create and produces his own music, building his first studio and starting to work on creating his own unique sound.
His unique sound production became a guideline for the new Tech House generation, crossing over rumbling basslines, euphoric melodies and club elements. In the past 10 years, Damon Jee has released his music on well-known labels, such as Tora Tora Tora, Definitive Recordings, Playmate records and Pour la Vie Records. He has also collaborated with major artists such as John Acquaviva, Olivier Giacomotto, Ron Flatter, Rodriguez Jr and Douglas Greed to name a few. Now Damon Jee is travelling and spreading his sounds on dancefloors around the world.
