YUNGBLUD SHARES VIDEO FOR NEW SONG “LONER” AHEAD OF HIS AUSTRALIAN TOUR IN FEBRUARY

written by the partae

UK alt-rock fireball, YUNGBLUD, shares the video for his anthemic new single “Loner” today ahead of his upcoming Australian headline tour.  Watch it HERE.

“I have been playing “Loner” on the road with my band for over a year and night after night there’s an electricity created when we perform the song. I needed to capture that on record. When you put your headphones on I want you to feel like you’re at one of my shows.  We shot the video with my mates from school in my nan’s house and in the venue where I played my first show.  It was mental.”

With close to 100 million streams to date, 2019 is looking to be a massive year for Yungblud. Last year saw Yungblud release his debut album 21st Century Liability, featuring the massive single ‘Polygraph Eyes’, and play to crowds all over the world including festivals Reading & Leeds, Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits and the final Vans Warped Tour.

Born in Yorkshire, England, Yungblud (Dominic Harrison) is a multi-instrumentalist who plays guitar, bass, piano, and drums.  He first picked up a guitar at age two and began writing his own songs at age 10. At an early age, Yungblud moved to London to kick-start his career and refine his musical vision, a process aided by his rediscovery of firebrand artists like The Clash, Arctic Monkeys, and N.W.A.

‘I LOVE YOU, WILL YOU MARRY ME’ CONFIRMED FOR AUSTRALIAN PROMOTIONAL TOUR IN NOVEMBER!

‘I LOVE YOU, WILL YOU MARRY ME’ – SINGLE OUT NOW

“…poised to go stratospheric. We might have seen the future, and it looks like Yungblud” – NME

“Yungblud scores a stone cold banger right out of the gate” – THE LINE OF BEST FIT

“a prescient call for young people to raise their voices during this period of political tumult…Killer” – CLASH MAGAZINE

“start expecting big things from this Northern newcomer. We’re certain we’ve not seen the last of him…” – WONDERLAND MAGAZINE

Yungblud today announces his first-ever trip to Australia to promote his single ‘I Love You, Will You Marry Me’, arriving in Australia November 13th and including a secret show at an undisclosed location in Sydney.

The 19 year old, Yorkshire-born artist weaves a corrupt, modern-day love story with his new single, inspired by a corrupt modern-day love story between a young couple from the north of England.

“It’s a twisted fairytale about two young people in love that got completely fucked over…” says Yungblud, speaking on the track. “His graffiti proposal overlooks the entire city, which ended in her death and was lit up as an ‘iconic piece of art’ overlooking Sheffield. He was left with nothing.”

Yungblud has created his own unique blend of alternative rock: poetry, crunching guitar-hooks and energetic break beats – all brought together with his own fierce determination to make a serious dent in pop-culture.

Quickly becoming renowned for his explosive live performances, 2017 has already seen him perform numerous shows and festivals across Europe and the US, including sets at Communion’s monthly Notting Hill Arts Club night, a slot at LA’s famous “School Night”, as well as acclaimed festival performances at The Great Escape, Lowlands Festival in Holland and Reeperbahn, Hamburg.

With his foot firmly on the accelerator towards superstardom, Yungblud will play another run of UK shows this Autumn for Propaganda. The UK’s biggest indie rock club night were blown away discovering Yungblud at The Great Escape, and as a result have asked him to headline a string of dates up and down the country later this year.

Nic Kelly’s Night High Records signs 19 year old rising UK artist, Yungblud

First single, the angry youth call-to-arms ‘King Charles’, out now

View video HERE

Introducing Yungblud, aka Dominic Harrison, a 19 year old singer songwriter from Doncaster, England.  Yungblud is the first international signing to Australian label Night High.  Yungblud’s debut single ‘King Charles’ is an instantly catchy, driving rock track, like a “mix between Jamie T and the Arctic Monkeys, with an added pinch of punk spirit”, and by design, politically charged, angry, and youth focused.

Yungblud has been surrounded by music all his life.  Having a father as a vintage guitar dealer and grandfather who played with T-Rex in the 70s, this rising star has had The Beatles, Bob Dylan and The Clash spoon fed to him since birth. Shredding guitar and singing since he can remember, the young musician has created his own blend of alternative rock: poetry, guitar-hooks and break-beats with a fierce determination to make a dent in pop-culture.

‘King Charles’ has earned Yungblud early BBC1 and European radio support, whilst Clash Magazine ran premiered the music video.  He has been featured on various tastemaker websites – Line Of Best Fit, Wonderland Magazine, Lowlands and more – and just played at UK’s The Great Escape.

Yungblud is the first international signing to Night High Records, a new collaborative label between EMI Music Australia and Nic Kelly of Project U.

Nic Kelly said, “Heading to a pub on my last night in London earlier this year was a good call – it introduced me to one of the most charismatic, energetic and important young voices in the world. YUNGBLUD’s message reflects that of every young person on the planet, and the energy with which he expresses it means it will be heard. I’m so stoked to welcome him to Night High.”
