Watch Chastity’s Powerful New Video ‘Die’

NPR describes Chastity as “uncommonly pretty,” a statement that perfectly encapsulates his new video for “Die”, the second single off his new EP, Death Lust Cuts out April 17 via Captured Tracks. Directed by Justin Singer, “Die” shows beautiful graphic shots of actress Hannah Clark grappling through her emotions of death. Having never ridden a dirt bike before, Clark guns it in true punk fashion – barefoot and without helmet – through the streets of Whitby, Ontario. “Die” builds off the first single,  “Trepidation”, a one-shot of Hannah’s manic episode starting with crying then transitioning to her laughing, hysteria.

Visuals play a meaningful role in this world with Williams using his penchant for crafting consistently sharp, challenging imagery to personalize the narratives running throughout all of Chastity’s work – most discernibly, a call for the disruption of status quo.

Chastity is a world of its own from the mind of Brandon Williams. Reflecting the working class background of Whitby, Ontario, Chastity’s songs are charged with the ethos of archetypal youth on the fringe. His new EP, Death Lust Cuts is part of the 2018 Death Lust narrative following an emotional journey from despair to rage to resilience.
