TEISCHA ANNOUNCES DEBUT MELBOURNE SHOW

by the partae June 28, 2017
written by the partae

TEISCHA is excited to share details of her debut Melbourne headline show this July. The young Perth-based artist will play a hometown show in at Mojo’s in Fremantle next weekend alongside an impressive list of local acts including Death By Denim, JunoKind and Chelsea Cullen, before playing The Workers Club in Melbourne on July 13 and Sydney’s Golden Age Cinema on July 15. .

The shows follow the recent release of Teischa’s gripping new single, ‘Midnight Hour’ taken off her independently released debut self-titled EP which includes tracks ‘Move’ and ‘Oh Brother’. Combining her love of classical and soul music, and inspired by female voices like Lauryn Hill and Nina Simone, Teischa offers up a contemporary spin on classical technique. Aptly captured by Pilerats, Teischa’s debut EP “…sees the emerging singer-songwriter break out of her shell with three brilliant singles, each pulsing with this raw, emotional power that gives the EP this personal edge lacking in many others”. See for yourself at the dates below.

Teischa’s self-titled EP is out now across all digital streaming platforms. Buy/stream it here.

PRAISE FOR TEISCHA

Feature Artist Of The Week  triple j Unearthed, (May 15)

“The touches of production on this are just top notch. Teischa’s voice lures you in before showing a huge emotional power.”  Dave Ruby Howe (4 stars)

“It’s like someone’s lit a candle in the pitch black night: this song’s defiant, tough and bold.”  Dom Alessio, triple j

“Her powerful vocals continue to be the highlight of her work, and, this time around, the instrumental components of her tracks better complement her energy, too. We’re fans.” Hilly Dilly

‘TEISCHA MIGHT BE AUSTRALIA’S ANSWER TO LAPSLEY WITH HER SINGLE ‘MIDNIGHTHOUR’  Project U

“There are some people who just have a naturally enticing singing voice. Those people can grab your attention so easily and automatically become etched in your mind. TEISCHA is one of those people. At only 20 years old, she has one of the deepest and mature sounding voices we’ve heard in a very long time. When you blend that amazing talent in with soft production that creates the most haunting atmosphere, well, it all becomes very addictive.” Purple Sneakers

“Meg Mac and Montaigne finally have some competition for the biggest voice in Australia. Teischa is a 20 year-old Perth-based singer who just released her incredible debut EP. Midnight Hour is the powerful opener, sounding like a cross-section between Lapsley and Banks.” The Interns

TEISCHA ANNOUNCES SYDNEY & FREO SHOWS; DEBUT EP OUT NOW

by the partae June 8, 2017
written by the partae

The young Perth-based, self-taught pianist and vocalist, TEISCHA, today announces two special one off performances – a hometown headline show at Mojo’s in Fremantle on Friday 30th June and her debut headline Sydney show on July 15th at Golden Age Cinema & Bar. These are the first shows since her most recent performance at Groovin The Moo Bunbury, as well as support sets alongside Vera Blue and Vallis Alps earlier this year.

These shows are in support of Teischa’s acclaimed new single, ‘Midnight Hour’ taken off her debut self-titled EP which includes tracks ‘Move’ and ‘Oh Brother’ which was independently released last month. At once commanding and calm, ‘Midnight Hour’ grips you with Teischa’s powerful vocals across bold production. Combining her love of classical and soul music, and inspired by female voices like Lauryn Hill and Nina Simone, Teischa offers up a silky, contemporary spin on classical technique, with each song as understated and charming as she is.

Stay tuned for more live show announcements coming soon. Teischa’s self-titled EP is out now across all digital streaming platforms. Buy/stream it here.

“Richness in vocals is the best way to describe our next artist, Teischa. She has returned after quite sometime with her debut self- tilted EP. We have taken a strong liking to one of the tracks called “Midnight Hour”. The Perth based upcoming singer-songwriter is a breath of fresh air with her compelling vocals and sonically engaging sound.”
