Where are you currently based?

Melbourne, Australia.

How did you first get into photography?

I started photographing my friends and people I met on the streets who interested me.

Please tell us about how your photography career progressed over the years up until this point:

It’s gone from a hobby to a side gig to a full-time/part-time, and now it’s fuller than it’s ever been.

What do you attribute to your success?

Being a sagittarius, working hard, having an amazing support network, and a psychology degree.

What have you been working on lately?

Lots of other people’s projects.

Please tell us about the gear you use:

I love shooting film. My preferred set up is my Mamiya RZ67 pro II with a 110 mm lens, or my Nikon FM10 with a 28mm lens on it.
For work I use a Nikon D850 with a 24-70mm lens that basically lives on the body.

Which lens is your favourite and why?

My 28mm on my FM10. I love the sense of distortion it creates without abstracting the image too far from reality, but just the perfect amount.

What are your favourite settings?

It varies according to jobs but right now f5.6 is my go to, and I’ll change it up or down based on how much I want to capture in the scene.
I always shoot 160 film.

What or who influences your style?

American, British and European artists (photographer, stylists, art-directors) of colour.
Carlotta Guerrero, Tyler Mitchell and Ib Kamara to name a few.

How do you prepare/plan for a shoot?

Choose a team, make sure everyone understands the brief or contributes ideas that could work in synchronicity, shoot and see what happens.

What tools/techniques do you use for post processing?

Capture One is my go to, it’s like Lightroom on steroids. But a bit of a spend unless you’re already tethering to your computer. In which case, it’s a game changer.
I do my colour grading there and I like to have retouchers edit my work when possible.

Who are you listening to at the moment?

Syd, Alpha Mist, Jordan Rakei, Tom Misch in general.

What do you like to do away from photography?

Travel, visit art shows, paint or go camping.

Any tips for aspiring photographers?

Work harder than everyone else and ask for help if you need it.

What’s planned for the remainder of 2021 going into 2022?

A month-long vacation after the work year ends!
Early next year we’ll be launching a creative agency, so that will be fun.

Favourite food and place to hangout?

Lately it’s this crack chicken place we found near the studio on Brunswick Street, their chicken tenders are the one!
And I’ve been finding myself at Runner Up in Collingwood Yards at least 3 times a week, and I don’t mind it at all.
