Canberra’s Kid Presentable have established themselves as a standout of the Australian hardcore and metal scene. While the band epitomizes the traditional attitudes of hardcore, sonically they offer an entirely unique experience. This rings true most especially on their debut LP, Modern Living Fear.
In recent months Kid Presentable has been dominating; their hometown album launch show on the 5th December 2021 alongside Purity, Splinter and Nosedive SOLD OUT in less than 24 hours, and numerous tracks from the new album have featured on triple j’s Short Fast Loud.

Throughout their evolution, Kid Presentable has supported bands like Knocked Loose, Jesus Piece, Terror, Stick To Your Guns, Toe to Toe, Justice For the Damned and many other local and international acts. There’s no doubt Kid Presentable is ready to bring the heat!

They head out on their Modern Living Fear tour in February 2022, with special guests Trenchknife and Burn in Hell – Friday 4th February they kick off in Brisbane – East Brisbane Bowls Club (AA), Saturday 5th February kicks on to the Sunshine Coast at Black Box Theatre, Sunday 6th February at Gold Coast’s Vinnie’s Dive Bar, on to NSW Thursday 10th February at Newcastle at Hamilton Station Hotel, Friday 11th February in Canberra at Transit Bar, Saturday 12th February in Sydney at The Burdekin Hotel, Wednesday 16th February Wollongong at La La La’s, Thursday 17th February in Ballarat at Volta, Friday 18th February in Melbourne at The Tote, and finishing up on Saturday 19th February in Adelaide at The Crown & Anchor! Tickets available for all dates at https://linktr.ee/wussrecords!

Since the release of their debut EP, 2018’s Disposable Culture, the band has committed to a rigorous touring schedule, completing two entirely self-managed Australian tours in the years 2018 and 2019, the latter in support of a sophomore EP, 2019’s At My Worst. Through these tours, in addition to numerous standalone support slots & weekender runs, Kid Presentable has defined themselves as an undeniably impactful live act and have proven to be an unwavering touring band,  forging relationships with hardcore bands and fans in almost every capital city.

With the pandemic making touring impossible, the band began to work on what was to become the album, Modern Living Fear. After acquiring an Arts Grant through the ACT Government, KP used the funding to collaborate with Chameleon Studios and the revered Elliott Gallart (Endless Heights, Cursed Earth) in November of 2020 to begin recording.

Modern Living Fear was completed on March 26th, 2021, and stands as testament to the work ethic and care for detail that Kid Presentable as a group apply to all ventures. Clocking in at just over 25 minutes, the album explores musical territory that is extends beyond anything they have previously delved into, whilst simultaneously building on the devastating heaviness that helped define them as a force to be reckoned with within the Australian heavy music scene.

The album itself deals with the struggles of fabricating an identity in the modern world whilst vexed by the pressures of day to day life. Touching on subjects such as religion, racism, veganism and self-doubt, the band has a lot to say about the state of the world and the place of the individual within it. These themes carry over into the music, with somber lulls and intense, slamming riffs echoing the chaos of a burdened mind.

The Modern Living Fear album is available as a 12″ vinyl (limited initial pre-order run), as well as on all major digital streaming services. Alongside the album release the band has issued new merch designs, with more merch to be announced before the February tour. The initial album single, Hammerhead, was also released with a video clip completely shot and edited by the band.
