Russian talent BADFLITE shows off his diverse range once again with fresh new track High Love, a cool, cutting-edge dance-pop track featuring Kyle Reynolds on vocals. Returning to STMPD RCRDS after the superb 3-track I EP last year presented a range of different flavours, he has cooked up another stunning production.
Kyle Reynolds hails from California, and is renowned for his previous collabs with the likes of Aspyer, Said The Sky, Qulinez and Asketa & Natan Chaim. His emotive lyrics on High Love tell a tale of young love and passion, all relayed through his powerful-yet-smooth tones.
Brooding bass hits from the start as atmospheric, spacey pads conjure up a melancholy sound. Sweet licks of melody tease as we build towards the chorus, and the pay-off is a chugging, funk-fuelled electro-pop groove underpinning Reynolds’ crisp falsetto vocals. Fans of The Weeknd will love this beautiful track with its understated sophistication and melancholy feel.
Not much is known about the masked man who calls himself BADFLITE. All we know that if he keeps delivering the goods like this, he’s going to be a huge star.
No stranger to STMPD RCRDS after his release this year Ain’t Coming Home and a superb remix of Matisse & Sadko’sInto You, Russian talent BADFLITE is back with an incredible three-track EP for the label that really shows his sophistication.
Smeh is a joyous slice of future pop decked out with heavenly vocal synths, epic percussion and widescreen bass tones. Its bright and breezy melodies sit beautifully with phat beats and a wonderfully hazy distorted guitar style solo that wouldn’t go amiss in a vintage Kanye track.
Strah opts for a tougher sound with buzzing bass and hard-hitting percussion that fits perfectly with the meandering, dubstep-tinged lead sound. A slow-burning breakdown heightens the drama, and the whole thing is a masterclass in production finesse.
Pustota completes the set with a more pensive approach, with beautiful string sections and melancholy electric piano motifs breaking up the hazy, chugging downtempo beat. Taking a little essence from the tropical sound but creating something more subtle with it, this beautiful number shows he has more than just dancefloor ambitions.
With three tracks representing three different emotions on this EP, BADFLITE’s diversity and accomplished sound show that he is a cut above your average electronic producer.
