Synthony brought the party back to Melbourne on Friday night, at the iconic Sidney Myer Music Bowl. In what was simply an exciting and mesmerising show, the 60+ Orchestra lead by the incredible Conductor: Sarah-Grace Williams, DJs and vocalists all left the crowd wanting more. The show was Sold Out and was highly anticipated on the events calendar for many months prior. Thankfully the show had no further restrictions and was enjoyed by all as the crowds danced, sung and celebrated ’30 Years of Dance Music.’
DJ Mark Dynamix kicked it all off, with his smooth grooves and some popular 80s remixed Dance tracks, followed by DJ Andy Van, playing Classic Disco & House tunes, warming up the crowd to a rapturous scream as well as when the Orchestra began proceedings with Fatboy Slim’s anthem: ‘Right Here, Right Now’ getting everyone onto their feet. First vocalist of the night was the talented Greg Gould singing Armand van Helden’s: ‘You Don’t Know Me.’ Next up was Ella Monnery singing two classic tracks (by Shapeshifters & Fragma) and accompanied by Sax Player Matty O who came prepared with his disco lit shoes and funky vibes. The excitement levels moved up a notch when Miss Connie from Sneaky Sound System sang ‘Show Me Love’ with MC Mobin Master joining her for the hit. She also performed Sneaky’s classic smash ‘UFO’ to huge of screams and cheers from the audience. A gorgeous performance by Emily Williams followed and Ilan Kidron from The Potbelleez did an incredible rendition of Pink Floyd’s ‘Another Brick in the Wall’ (Eric Prydz remix) and finished his set with the all-time Aussie favourite ‘Don’t Hold Back.’ The show ended with non-other than Darude’s smash hit ‘Sandstorm.’ Who can’t wait for Synthony Melbourne in 2022?
