Hip-hop production duo The Runners have been behind the board on some of the most unforgettable tracks of the past two decades – from artists ranging from Lil’ Wayne to Rihanna, Pitbull to Justin Bieber. Today the duo officially steps into the spotlight as a new music formation, BLVK JVCK, with debut single “Mind Games” (feat. Dyo), dropping today to DSPs via Big Beat Records. Listen HERE!
“Mind Games” kicks off with a glitchy intro set against a pulsing build before breaking into a warm, sparse beat, complimented throughout by sultry vocals from Dyo (of NEIKED, “Sexual”). The official music video – premiered today via BULLETT – serves as a fitting accompaniment to the hook-laden track. Directed by Edgar Esteves (G-Eazy, Jana Kramer), the visual tale introduces two lovers desperately seeking to find one another between the walls of a surreal, technicolor maze – all the while providing insight into how they became so “lost” in the first place.
Featured London-based vocalist Dyo has previously had featured on two #1 UK singles, with three other songs in the top 10 and songwriting credits on releases ranging from Fifth Harmony, Iggy Azalea, and Maroon 5’s current single “What Lovers Do ft. SZA”.
BLVK JVCK does not mark the end of The Runners, who will continue to produce enduring hip-hop classics, but rather an exciting fresh start for producers Dru and Mayne. While producing for DJ Khaled’s team, the two cut their teeth creating hit club records for the biggest names in music, including smash singles “Go Hard” (DJ Khaled) and “Hustlin
