With their latest album HI VIZ still burning bright in the minds of electronic music lovers across the world, THE PRESETS return with a re-edit of the much loved album track Are You Here? featuring Tommy from DMA’s. Pumping up the drums and psychedelia, this brand new version is sure to ignite dancefloors across the country this Summer.  Download/ stream HERE.

The band has also just delivered a fabulous and faultless electro rock version of Midnight Oil’s ‘Power And The Passion’ for Triple J’s Like A Version, alongside a combined version of their tracks, 2018’s ‘Feel Alone’ and 2004’s ‘Girl and the Sea’.

Discussing Are You Here? Kim Moyes said today, “The song is a psychedelic fever-dream about the impermanence of memory, disintegration of love and the deepest desire to break free from any artificially programmed notions of self – we decided to take the album version and flip it to create a brand spanking nu-edit with the help of our long-time studio collaborator Scott Horscroft.”

The Presets and DMA’s have a strong connection, as Kim explains further, “While I was producing an album for DMA’s in 2017 I played them some of the works-in-progress from Hi Viz. Tommy and the boys really loved the instrumental that would later turn into ‘Are You Here?’ and asked if they could help with writing a top line with us for it. Later when we were back in Sydney the boys came over to my studio with Jules and myself and we fleshed out some lyrical and melodic ideas. Then Tommy threw a vocal down over the instrumental and just like that, ‘Are You Here?’ was born.”

Julian concurs, “Rarely do you come across musicians like the boys from DMA’s. Absolute, total legends. It was such a great stroke of luck that our paths crossed and led to us making the psychedelic-fever-dream ‘Are You Here?’, one of our favourite songs from Hi Viz. In fact, we loved it so much we decided to take the album version and flip it to make a nu-mix. Enjoy!”

Tommy from DMA’s is equally complimentary of the process, saying, “Working with Kim and Julian was a pleasure, the song writing came naturally and really quickly.”

This reworking of Are You Here? follows previous singles Do What You Want, 14U + 14 Me, Downtown Shutdown and Martini.
