“A delicate but immensely solid rhythm holds everything together, as woozy synthlines, funk-tinged guitar riffs, and body-caressing chords are arranged in a way that make you feel it where the magic happens.”

After making waves a few years back via his Potatohead People project with partner AstroLogical and co-producing Illa J’s critically acclaimed self titled LP, Vancouver based scene staple and producer Nick Wisdom steps out from behind the boards to deliver his first solo release for Bastard Jazz.

The “Intimate Strangers” EP mines deep into Nick’s proclivities for disco, hip-hop, and house flavours. For our first glimpse of the project, Wisdom is today revealing EP cut “Feelin’ Alright.” The track heads into outerspace disco territory with cosmic synths, walking bass, and sultry vocals courtesy of Reva Devito (HW&W, Kaytranada). Up next, expect to hear a myriad of song elements like snapping four on the floor, 80s boogie, and hip-hop melody schemes featured throughout the remainder of the ‘Intimate Strangers’ EP out September 15th.

If unfamiliar, with Nick Wisdom before now the producer / DJ has been releasing music for over seven years, as part of Potatohead People, but also in collaboration with artist’s including Illa J, Phife Dawg, Kaytranada, Moka Only, Pomo, and more. You may have heard one of his many productions that have landed placements with Netflix, Mercedes-Benz, Powerade & EA’s NBA LIVE 2K16, and more
