Melding folk and indie pop sensibilities into his own style of singer-songwriter bliss, Brisbane’s Nathan MTreturns with his second heartfelt offering, ‘Friendly Fire‘.
Authentic and carefully crafted, the track encapsulates the feeling of falling in love with a friend and following your heart regardless of the consequences. Written, recorded and produced by Nathan alone, with various loops and his signature percussive guitar playing building this joyful soundscape, ‘Friendly Fire’ is a truly honest reflection of the 20-year-olds artistry.
“I wanted to write a song that meant “I love you” without saying it word for word. ‘Friendly Fire’ is about falling in love with your best friend – asking them to let you in, regardless of the risks and potential consequences,” Nathan explains.
Spending the last few years perfecting his sound and honing his skills, Nathan released his debut single ‘Thinking‘ in May this year. Taking inspiration from artists such as Ben Howard, Kyle Lionheart and The Band Camino, Nathan frequently gigs across Brisbane and enchants audiences with his live looping and haunting vocals.
Giving us a taste of what is to come from the young singer/songwriter, ‘Friendly Fire’ is the first of two more singles set to be released by Nathan this year, proving his talents again and again.
‘Friendly Fire’ is out EVERYWHERE NOW.
