Co-inciding with the release of Maggie Rogers’ new single ‘SPLIT STONES’, The North Face have officially launched the new insulated Ventrix™ Jacket that releases excess heat through movement and exertion for balanced warmth and breathability.

To celebrate the launch of Ventrix™ and its heat release technology, The North Face and musician Maggie Rogers collaborated to create “The Release Project,” an immersive digital experience that allowed Rogers’ new track, “Split Stones” to be revealed layer by layer through movement ahead of its official global release.

Rogers is also featured in the Ventrix™ campaign film, directed by filmmaker Grant Singer. The North Face athletes Jimmy Chin, Alex Honnold and Emily Harrington also appear in the film, which was shot in Portland and Mount Hood, Oregon and El Plomo, Chile.

“Maggie’s sound is inspired by her connection with the outdoors, often drawing inspiration from the movement and rhythm of nature,” said The North Face Vice President of Marketing Tom Herbst. “As a brand rooted in outdoor exploration of all types, Maggie’s approach to music makes her the perfect partner for The North Face and the launch of our Ventrix™ Jacket that is designed to perform when you move.”

“I took the first sound samples for ‘Split Stones’ on a month-long backpacking trip in Oregon during the summer of 2013; I’ve been collecting samples and piecing the song together in bedroom studios and trails ever since,” said Rogers. I’m super excited about combining the two things I love – technology and the environment – to create a way that people can hear the song, but also feel a little bit a part of the action and process that inspired it.”

Maggie Rogers breakout single “Alaska” charted in Spotify’s Viral 50 in 40 countries and hit #1 in 23 countries, including the U.S. With more than 93 million global streams to date, it earned Rogers a place on the Spotify Best of 2016 list and set the stage for widespread international acclaim.  “Alaska” is featured on Rogers debut EP Now That The Light Is Fading, out now on Capitol Records.  The EP includes four original songs written, produced and performed by the 22-year-old multi-instrumentalist, and also features the tracks “Dog Years,” and “On + Off”.   Fresh off sold out tours of both Europe and North America, Rogers performed at U.S. festivals this summer including Firefly, Lollapalooza and Outside Lands.  Rogers was chosen as a Tidal Artist To Watch (RISING) for 2017 and as a Google Play Music 2017 Artist To Watch. Vevo, Pandora, the BBC and numerous publications – including Rolling Stone, Billboard, V MagazineBaeble, Pigeons & Planes, Idolator, Paste and more – have also tipped her as an artist to watch.  “(Maggie Rogers’) voice is mesmerizing… musicality so layered and – complex,” said NPR, while The New Yorker declares, “Maggie Rogers is an artist of her time.”
