Where are you currently based?
In Bremen, fairytale city of the town musicians, in Germany. I was born in France and raised in the French Alps, but my roots are berbers, which means outlanders in ancient Egyptian language.
How did you first start playing music and what inspired you to keep playing?
Having turntables at home and having married in a musicians and DJ´s family since 2001, it was only a matter of time until I started playing myself. First I started producing on Logic and at some point, I started recording DJ sets that friends from Lisbon came to hear and like. They asked me to do a warm-up set for Marc Romboy back in 2010.
Your debut on HERZBLUT, the imprint of Stephan Bodzin is out this March 2018 on vinyl and digital. What has inspired the songwriting and producing for this EP?
It is my third release on HERZBLUT. In first grade, my first love was a bald and very funny boy that looked just like the well-known actor Yul Brynner, who still looks very attractive to me, with his self-confident and mysterious looks. Blackwash is a tiny beach on the Osa Peninsula in Costa Rica, which inspired the powerful wave-like sound.
Did you collaborate with anybody? If so who?
My husband was really helpful with the whole release and Hannes Bieger did the mixing in his marvelous Berlin Studio, the mastering was made by Calyx.
What instruments / programs did you use in the production of the EP?
Ableton and various VSTs, mostly form the French Arturia, as well as a few samples…
What do you have planned for 2018?
My big masterplan for this year is to develop a live set involving my voice and I have some very nice gigs planned all over Europe.
Who are you listening to at the moment?
Marc Romboy has a few nice releases coming up, I’m a big fan of Patrice Bäumel. Nicolas Masseyeff will be releasing some bombs soon, Jonas Saalbach is a very good producer and live act, I love a lot of Afterlife artists (Adriatique, Fideles, Mind Against) and of course Stephan Bodzin. They are so many releases I like at the moment. I just love the melodic stuff.
Favourite food and place to hangout?
I love home-made food or food that has this feel. I love hiking, proper techno clubs and being on my own at home. And of course in the studio.
