After releasing his warmly received new single ‘The End’, Adelaide-based indie-pop artist LOS LEO(real name Tom Montesi) has just unveiled the striking accompanying music video – directed by Bill Bleakley and shot in an old run down Motel in Charlton, Victoria.
The story sees Tom follow the female protagonist, who is going through the motions of leaving the end of a relationship; only her journey is told in reverse. “Tom wanted the clip to feel like it’s a story in reverse; so when we see the title ’The End’ in the opening shot, it also feels like the actual ending of the narrative” says Bill.
“Lighting was everything in this video clip, we had some great lighting rigs – especially in the dreamland bar scenes”, adds Tom. “This clip was shot over one huge day. I owe big credit to the crew for staying so sharp until we had finished. The semi-trailer truck that we had lined up pulled out an hour before we shot. Somehow our production designer Nick Wilton was able to persuade a truckie to lend us his truck at 10pm at night”.
Since the release of ‘The End’, the track has been supported by the likes of triple j, Spotify, Apple Music and worldwide tastemaker blogs such as Clash Magazine, Wonderland Magazine and Pilerats. LOS LEO is also currently traversing the countryside with electronic-pop behemoths LANYon their Australian shows, winning crowds over with roaring receptions after each performance.
The tour finishes off this weekend at Margaret Court Arena in Melbourne, The Gov in Adelaide and Astor Theatre, Perth.
