THIS THAT LINEUP EXPANDS WITH POLISH CLUB + WAAX + BUDJERAH + MORE

It’s the festival that just keeps giving. Today, THIS THAT announces a fresh batch of searing hot additions to the already stacked lineup set to hit Newcastle on Saturday 26 February and Sandstone Point (QLD) on Saturday 5th March 2022. THIS stage and THAT stage are already heaving with Aussie talent…now it’s time to give some love to iconic mystical pop-up enclave and third stage, The OTHER. These fire additions join the already announced stacked list of Aussie icons including Hayden James, WHAT SO NOT, Jack River, Dune Rats, Client Liaison, Spacey Jane, Mallrat and heaps more.

‘Stop For A Minute’ and pay attention – kicking off the announcement is Sydney garage rock duo, Polish Club. Hot off the release of their third studio album, Now We’re Cooking, the pair will be accompanied by their full band – dishing out tune after tune in an intensely captivating set. Also exploding on the OTHER stage are Brissy rock royalty, WAAX. Known for leading lady Maz’s fierce, uncompromising and in-your-face stage antics, punters should prep for roaring sing-alongs as WAAX get ‘Wild & Weak’ at THIS THAT. Fresh off his ARIA and NIMA award wins, nineteen-year-old sensation, Budjerah will take things ‘Higher’ when he treats the crowd to his signature brand of smooth and oh-so-silky soul. Link arms with the crew and claim the bragging rights that come with seeing the proud Coodjinburra singer deliver faves from his debut EP.

Small-town mates and alt-rock icons, Pacific Avenue, are gearing up to deliver ‘Something Good’ to THIS THAT, as they set the vibes with their warm guitars and summery lyrics. Dishing out honesty, storytelling and certified bars of steel, Gomeroi artist Kobie Dee will be stepping from some of the country’s most iconic venues to share his innate hip-hop skills on the OTHER stage. Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers will also be present – channeling Riot Grrrl goodness, the unapologetic punk rockers from Canberra are ready to get loud. Also repping Canberra, and rounding our this lineup of local legends, is YNG Martyr. High energy trap, stripped-back R&B and seamless freestyle…YNG Martyr is bringing it all to THIS THAT.

If a scorching hot lineup isn’t enough… the OTHER stage is stocked with surprises galore. Wanderers who’ve had enough of the main stages can explore the mystical and immersive cultural whirl of a wonderland. A place where music lovers unite and festival friendships are formed, the OTHER is poised to engulf explorers in its expressive quirks, live art and unbeatable tunes.

THIS THAT organisers have plenty more up their sleeves, including more local artists, a couple of crowd-pleasers and the winner of THIS THAT’s triple j Unearthed comps yet to be revealed.
