LIFE share new video + Nadine Shah Tour + Idles show

“This is an album to stoke the fires of change” Kerrang!
“Brilliant” The Guardian
“LIFE combine inescapable energy with unshakeable hooks” Dork
LIFE released their debut album Popular Music earlier this year. Their pissed-off and heartfelt indignation earning them critical acclaim and an army of loyal new fans. Giving a voice to the untapped anger of working class anger in Britain, 2017 – its no surprise that LIFE are due to hit the road with fellow outspoken artists, Nadine Shah and Idles.
The band have spent the summer playing a huge array of festivals including Reading/Leeds, Truck and Latitude. Their next offering, Sugar God, the final track to be taken from the album see’s lead singer Mez Sanders-Green evoke his inner Jonathan Richman. If Jonathan Richman fronted a bunch of frenzied punk agitators from Hull.
LIFE are based in Hull, a classic underdog city made good by its new found status as 2017 UK City of Culture. But beneath the cultural progression and media attention there is still fear in the air. It’s this fear that runs through the heart of the band’s debut album, as explained by Mez:
“Our album sounds like panic and anxiety, it’s the sound of shitting it about whatever happens next week, about what you can weigh through on the self-checkout to get your beans cheaper. It’s an LP made up of the psyche of everyone who can see they’re getting fucked and there’s a lot of people getting fucked right now.”
The album was produced and mixed by Grammy award winner, Ian Dowling at The Fish Factory in London. It’s a blistering, thunderous album that barely leaves room for breath. A quintessentially punk record with the observational wit of The Fall. Anger, restlessness, tension.
