Where are you currently based and what is the music scene like there?
We´re based in Berlin and maybe you heard about it – the city is full of clubs and every second dude is a DJ 😉
How did you two meet and how did you come to play music together?
(H) That was more or less the same situation. We met in a club in Berlin, it was late in the morning, the party was slowly dying down and I tried to convince the DJ that it´s my turn now. What I didn’t know in that moment was that Martin had tried the same. In the end we got to take over and played together for the next 8 hours. That definitely marked the starting point of it all.
You have your studio at the famous Holzmarkt“, a space related to the Kater blau club which originated from „Bar 25“ which was a really really big thing in Berlin. Please tell us about your experience at this studio:
It´s an absolute pleasure to have our base there. We know so many people from that crazy Bar25 time, so it´s very familiar to us. At the same time everything is new at the Holzmarkt, which brings a lot of positive spirit and a great vibe with it. We know all the other musicians there and every now and then we come together for some nice tech talk on our balcony.
Please tell us about your relationship and connection with URSL Record Label:
We have known these guys for a very long time and are seeing each other very often, even sharing our studio with one of them.
What have you been working on lately?
Growing our personalities as well as the plants on our balcony, hahahaha 🙂
Who are you listening to at the moment?
There are many artists who inspire us very much. Thodoris Triantafillou, who made an excellent remix for us, being one of them.
What programs and equipment do you use?
Every track is a mix of soft and hardware. For bass, however, it is almost always the sub37, for melodies currently the prophet12. But these are always phases, there has to be a regular new toy. We have just rediscovered the old Dynacord SRS56 delay, which is extremely fun.
How did you each get into playing electronic music?
(M) I have been interested in different styles all my life. And electronic music gave me the opportunity to unite it all to create something new.
What do you have planned for the remainder of 2018?
There will be further releases on Exploited and a second URSL.
We also hope for a nice festival summer, since last year we play also live which is very exiting for us.
What do you like to do outside of music?
(M) I am very interested in alpine sports like climbing, mountaineering etc. That decelerates me and helps balance night life.
Favourite food and place to hangout?
There is an excellent new Vietnamese restaurant in Neukölln called Con Tho and of cause, the Holzmarkt has the best restaurant and is perfect to hang out.
