KELELA DEBUTS “BLUE LIGHT” VIDEO Hear Take Me Apart now via Warp Records/Inertia Music

Touring Australia in January

Following the release of her critically-acclaimed debut album, Take Me Apart, Kelela returns with a new video. “Blue Light“, one of the standouts from her breakthrough album, receives a sensual and alien-like visual accompaniment courtesy of director Helmi. The new video made its debut overnight on US cable networks BET Soul and BET Her and is now available online.

Kelela is currently on a North American tour, which features a newly-conceived show that expands Kelela’s setup to include additional band members. Kelela will head to Australia in January, 2018 in support of The xx. See below for details.

Watch the video for “Blue Light” below and hear Take Me Apart
in its entirety now:

Kelela has a look in her eye, she’s ready to level up. Clattering,
treacherous drums give way to sputtering-then-simmering
synths then that glorious, inquisitive voice.

Herald Sun, ★★★★

It’s seductive and potent and most definitely, “LMK” is enticing as hell.
The AU Review, Single Of The Day “LMK”

A towering achievement of an album.
Stereogum, Album Of The Week

Kelela’s celebration and command of sensitivity and rawness
in her music is both fortifying and revolutionary.

In a time where the world seems insanely out of control, there’s power
in tenderness and loving, which is exactly what Kelela is about,
not just in her music but in her life.

Purple Sneakers

A very welcome return from the producer, songwriter, and singer
who looks set to embark on the biggest push of her career.

‘Take Me Apart’ is a dazzling, tempest of an album, with the kind
of creative vision reminiscent of Afrofuturism, and the patient
vulnerability of an artist that knows what she wants.
