Where are you currently based?
I live in hotels to be honest.
What can we expect from your sets?
I mainly stick to a variety of house and techno but depending on the mood I sometimes I play a bit of disco too.
Are there any shows that you’re most looking forward to playing? If so, why?
I can’t wait to play in Melbourne on New Year’s Day for my party ‘Trip The Light’. It’s such a fun show for me as it’s in my hometown. In the past I’ve had guests from Seth Troxler to Guy Gerber. This year I have my longtime brother Felix da Housecat playing.
What are the greatest challenges of touring?
Everything to do with airports especially security and food!
How do you prepare for each show?
Well I always lose my headphones and just hope my manager shows up with some
What do you enjoy the most about playing in the USA?
I just love the enthusiasm that the Americans bring to the table. They are generally super appreciative of what I do which is nice.
Do you find that the crowds at shows differ from country to country?
How do you pick the artists for your NYD parties?
I usually just book my crew like Ali Love, Mambo Brothers, to even back in the day Frankie Knuckles – bless his soul. It’s super special with all my friends and family.
Production wise, you have recently released on Nic Fanciulli’s Saved Records called ‘Trip The Light’ – how did this track come to?
It’s something I made a while back which just sat on my laptop. At the start I loved it, but I think I heard it so many times I went crazy. That’s why it took me so long to get it out. But now I love it again.
Why did you choose to release on Saved Records?
Nic Fanciulli is one of my best friends who heard the record whilst I was producing it in Ibiza and instantly picked it up. It’s a kick ass techno label!
Please describe your song writing process and the equipment / programmes that you use?
It depends on where and who I’m working with but generally speaking these days it’s mainly Ableton. I don’t have a certain way of writing each time, it’s super different, depending on the record and the environment.
Who are you listening to at the moment?
The new Bicep album has been on repeat
What influences your song writing and creative process?
Life I guess! When I’m feeling good and motivated that’s when I can smash out really great music
Favourite food and place to hangout?
Shoreditch Grind in London of course
