Where are you currently based and what is the music scene like there?
I’m currently based in Tel Aviv, the underground scene is in ever-growing development. Many of Tel Aviv artists are very successful at the moment, like Red Axes, Guy Gerber, Moscoman, Lonya, Chaim, Guy Mantzur, Khen, Jenia Tarsol, and the list goes on.
How did you first start playing electronic music?
I was playing Hip Hop in a club that was usually playing Deep House and Techno. I heard it over there and got addicted to it.
Note to the curious – I still really like Hip Hop 🙂
What’s been happening recently?
I’ve recently opened my new label, Frau Blau, together with my partner Omri Guetta, one of Tel Aviv most talented underground DJs.
Things are progressing at a fast pace and we are very excited about everything that is happening. I am touring on a weekly base and feeling blessed about meeting many new friends around the world.
You recently released your new single ‘Frau Blau’ with Yost Koen, how did you come to work with Yost and how was the experience?
3-4 years ago Yost and I were among a small group of producers that were creating a Tech House/Minimal so the collaboration felt right, we already wrote few tracks together and we had a great connection so we wanted to take it to other directions as well.
We decided to create a Melodic Techno with tribal touch, this experience was new for both of us and it was amazing and fun for both us. Yost is very talented and a brilliant producer.
What influenced the sound and songwriting for this track?
We didn’t have a specific influence for this one, we just had an idea to combine our mutual taste with extreme melodic-tribal spice in it.
What software did you use to create ‘Frau Blau’ and where and when did you produce?
It was around a year and a half ago, I was working on Cubase and Yost with Ableton.
I’ve sent him the parts and he sent it back, we did some ‘ping-pong’ with it until we reached the final result.
How has the response been from fans?
Wow, that was hysterical. We got so many great comments from people who searched this tune in every possible way and asked about it in many ways till he got released.
We both felt that we did something right here.
Please tell about any new music that you have on the way:
Lots of new music is coming soon, I can’t tell you everything yet but I can say that there are few collaborations with artists that I admire like Re.You for example, remixes from Adana Twins, Musumeci, Ruede Hagelstein, Monkey Safari, releases on labels that I really love like MicroCastle, TAU and more.
Also there’s a compilation that I compiled together with Ivory during the last 6 month and is planned to be released soon on my label Frau Blau, That’s just what I can reveal for now.
Where and when are you playing/touring next?
During October and November, I will play in Tel Aviv, Tallinn, Roubaix, Szczecin, Aachen, Rome, Hamburg, Berlin, London, Brunswick and more.
You’re with MFM Booking agency, how did you come to work with MFM and how has the experience been so far?
My manager and I have heard about this agency from a few people, we got impressed by the roster and really liked Harald vibe from the first moment, it took a few months and it happened.
It feels great to be there, everything is super professional and it really helped me and Moti, my manager, to feel at home.
Who are you listening to at the moment?
I am listening to so many different kinds of music, from Jazz, Fusion and world music of artists such as Hiroshi Suzuki and Khruangbin to electronica and house of artists like Marcus Worgull, Nandu, Jepe and many more.
What do you like to do away from music?
I really like cooking and of course, travelling and see nature at it’s best.
What do you have planned for the remainder of 2019 going into 2020?
First unique EP that will combine my style with Italo-disco and Indie-trance that will be out around January. Stay tuned!
