JORDAN RAKEI RELEASES STUNNING ACOUSTIC
VERSION OF “SORCERESS”
Newly signed to Ninja Tune and with a new album on the way, New Zealand-born and Brisbane-raised multi-instrumentalist, vocalist and producer Jordan Rakei has released a stunning acoustic version of his current single “Sorceress“. Following his recent Majestic Casual live session, the version underlines his stature as a truly exhilarating soul voice, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist in total command of his sonic vision.

Riding high on the BBC Radio 6 Music playlist, with amazing support from tastemakers Mistajam, Jamz Supernova, Toddla T, Mary Anne Hobbs, Lauren Laverne and Gilles Peterson, “Sorceress” broke into Spotify’s UK Viral Chart. In September, Jordan heads out on a headline US and European tour (including London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire).
Rakei has played Pitchfork Avant-Garde Block Party, Annie Mac Presents, supported Jamie Woon and NAO, and collaborated with Disclosure, Taku, FKJ, Tom Misch, Loyle Carner, Dave Okumu and Richard Spaven. In 2016, he self-released his debut album Cloak, which features fellow Australian musicians Remi and Ngaiire. He also released an EP of dancefloor-focused tracks via Rhythm Section that same year under the moniker Dan Kye.
