Meet the Melbourne-based producer and songwriter Ricky Crisp and his debut single ‘SATIN SAINT’. The single and accompanying video is our first introduction to the new music project of Jack Den Ouden, who crafts intricate electronic and trap beats from his bedroom studio. Listen HERE, watch HERE.
Inspired by the trap-leaning sounds of Ryan Hemsworth, Post Malone, James Blake and Juice WRLD, ‘SATIN SAINT’ was created through experimentation with dreamy synths and sharp beats. Grounding the track is Ricky Crisp’s ability to craft refined and accessible vocal melodies, with his steady stream of consciousness flowing over hypnotic and textured production. Speaking of the track’s introspective lyrics, Ricky Crisp says: “I wanted to explore the impact of outside opinions and how doubt can cast a shadow over your perception. The track ultimately serves as a reassurance that everything is actually okay.”
The accompanying music video sees Ricky Crisp set against enthralling visuals from live projection artist Fan Club President (DRMNGNOW, Niine).Captured by Drew McCarty, the video aims to reflect the pace and textural elements of the track, with the vibrant kaleidoscopic effect having an impact that is both disorientating and transfixing.

Honing his production skills on his parent’s property in rural Victoria, Ricky Crisp allowed the lush landscape and vast open spaces to influence his continually evolving sound. As his compositions became more detailed, assured and calibrated, the nature of his music shifted into more melodic electronic territory. With an extensive catalogue of production work crafted over the last twelve months, Ricky Crisp is finally ready to showcase his unwavering potential.
Ricky Crisp has also announced a Melbourne headline show in support of ‘SATIN SAINT’. He will play at Horse Bazaar on Saturday 2 November. Supporting the single launch will be RnB-pop artist Queen Daddy and local rapper Baz Kaybee.
