Wrapping up their Australian dates in Perth this weekend HILLTOP HOODS have reached yet another extraordinary career milestone playing to sold out arenas and record crowds.
This second leg of ‘The Great Expanse’ world tour saw the band play 7 shows across Australia to over 80,000 fans, making it their biggest and most successful headline tour to date. They have also created history as the biggest Hip Hop tour ever by an Australian artist, and ‘The Great Expanse’ has now become the largest tour of any Australian act in 2019.
As promised fans were treated to a blistering high-energy-leave-no-prisoners show that included special guests and incredible support performances by artists DJ Nino Brown, Shadow and Mojo Juju.
The legacy of the Hilltop Hoods is already undeniable. With album number eight, the trio has created another statement of intent. To cap of a stellar 2019 the group have now sold over 1 Million albums in Australia and over 640M global streams.
‘The Great Expanse’ brings the bands total #1 Albums to an incredible 6, which is an ARIA record for the most #1 albums by an Australian band. The record also became the fifth consecutive album by the trio to debut #1 on the ARIA Album Chart and delivered a string of hits with platinum selling and ARIA award winning ‘Clark Griswold’ Feat. Adrian Eagle, double platinum selling ‘Leave Me Lonely’ and the Platinum single ‘Exit Sign’, featuring Ecca Vandal and Illy.
The band now take the extraordinary performance that is ‘THE GREAT EXPANSE WORLD TOUR’ to the remaining 12 countries across the globe for the rest of the world to see.
